00:00There's a reason why some people are introverts, and some people are extroverts.
00:04It's not just because of their upbringing.
00:06It's not just because of their environment.
00:08It's actually both.
00:09You see, personality is composed of two parts, nature and nurture.
00:14Nature refers to our genetic makeup, the traits that we're born with.
00:18Nurture refers to the environment that we're raised in, the people around us, the culture,
00:23the society.
00:24So when it comes to being an introvert or an extrovert, it's not one or the other.
00:28It's a combination of both.
00:30Some people are born with a predisposition to be more introverted or extroverted.
00:34But then there are also environmental factors that can influence our personality.
00:38For example, if you grow up in a very stimulating environment with lots of people around you,
00:43you're more likely to be an extrovert.
00:45If you grow up in a more calm and quiet environment, you're more likely to be an introvert.
00:50But here's the thing.
00:51You can't change your nature, but you can change your nurture.
00:54So if you want to become more extroverted, you can do it.
00:57It'll take some effort, but it's possible.
