“BJP, tarnishing Congress…”: Congress’s Adhir Ranjan slams EAM Jaishankar’s statement on Emergency

Description; New Delhi, June 27. 2025 (ANI):  On EAM S Jaishankar's statement on 50 years of Emergency, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that ruling party is trying to tarnish Congress party image as Congress leaders including Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi herself had admitted that Emergency was a mistake."... His predecessor - Pranab Mukherjee, regretted the issue of the imposition of Emergency in public in 2008. Once the Emergency was lifted, Indira Gandhi herself admitted that it was a mistake. On several occasions, Congress repeatedly expressed regrets, but now the ruling party is trying to tarnish Congress... Which countries objected to the Emergency before him or criticised for it?... Indira Gandhi declared elections soon after lifting of Emergency, knowing well that she may be defeated... Mr Jaishankar knows everything, but to continue his ministerial tenure, he needs be subservient to the dictates of the present government... What was the role of RSS during Independence movement, Quit India, partition, after independence?..." On the statement made by RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, he says, "Is there anything wrong with the insertion? Our constitution can only be interpreted by the judiciary... Constitution can be implemented or supplemented, but never be transgressed... How are secularism and socialism separate from our constitution? BJP wants to turn the country into Hindu Rashtra... After 100 years, when they found that Congress is not in power, they found the opportune moment to change the constitution..," said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
