Four men, comprising a Malaysian and three Singapore nationals, were charged at the Ampang Magistrate's Court with trafficking liquid cocaine on June 19.

Malaysian Kong Sien Mee, 57, and the three Singaporeans - Quek Kien Seng, 45, Tristan Chew Jin Zhong, 25, and Ivan Tan Zhi Xuan, 31, nodded when the charge was read out to them before Magistrate Amalina Basirah Md Top on Thursday (June 26).

00:12Fifty-seven-year-old Malaysian Kong Sian Mi and the three Singaporeans, 45-year-old
00:17Kwek Kiyan Seng, 25-year-old Tristan Chu Jinjong and 31-year-old Ivan Tan Jishuan nodded when
00:26the charge was read out to them before Magistrate Amalina Basira Mohamed Top.
00:31However, no plea was recorded from all the accused as the case falls under the jurisdiction of
00:37the High Court.
00:39The four men were jointly charged under Section 39B, Subsection 1, Subsection A of the Dangerous
00:45Drugs Act, 1952, with trafficking 9,420.2 milliliters of cocaine at the exit of a hotel
00:56in Kuala Lumpur on June 19.
00:59They faced the death sentence or life imprisonment and, if not sentenced to death, to be given
01:05a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
01:09The court set September 8 for mention and submission of the chemist's report.
