Lakulish Yoga University, established in Ahmedabad in 2013, is India’s first institution devoted solely to authentic yogic studies. Named after Bhagwan Loknath Lakulish—the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva—it operates under the Lokulish International Federation of Yoga and Health Systems. Offering Bachelors through PhD programs in Yoga Therapy and Yogic Sciences, its curriculum blends ancient wisdom (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, pranayama, meditation, Sanskrit, Vedic philosophy) with modern wellness research. The serene campus hosts retreat, workshops, and conferences, drawing scholars and seekers globally. Since the UN’s recognition of June 21 as International Day of Yoga, its graduates have spread healing practices across wellness centers, hospitals, and NGOs. 00:05Lakulish Yoga University stands as a serene bicon of India's timeless yogic heritage.

00:11Established in 2013, the university was named in honor of Bhagwan Lokanath Lakulish,

00:17believed to be the 28th incarnation of Lord Shiva, a revered yogi who championed the path of inner transformation.

00:25Backed by the Lakulish International Federation of Yoga and Health Systems,

00:30the institution is India's first university exclusively dedicated to the study and research of yoga

00:36in its purest, most authentic form.

00:40Yoga is an adhubhut vidya.

00:43For its propagation, it was our Purja, Swamiji, Rajasri Muni.

00:48So, in 2013, when the first minister Narendra Bhai Modi was here,

01:03they also did it.

01:06So, in 2013, the university has not seen anything in the future.

01:11Lakulish Yoga University offers degrees from bachelor's to PhD in yoga therapy and yogic sciences,

01:43So, if I talk about achievement, this Vishvidyaalai has built a very small way of learning

01:51that when we first started the certificate course,

01:54we shifted the certificate course to BA and BST,

01:57then we shifted to postgraduate courses.

02:00And now, we have students enrolled in PhD here.

02:06Actually, I belong to sports.

02:09When I was in school, when I was doing yoga,

02:13I was doing yoga.

02:14But until I know that I was just doing flexibility,

02:18I just wanted to do asana and go and do it.

02:21After that, I realized that in Lakulish Yoga University,

02:25in Ahmedabad, there was also theoretical knowledge.

02:28That's why I started this course.

02:38With yoga's global rise, especially after the UN declared June 21st as International Day of Yoga,

02:45institutions like Lakulish Yoga University have emerged as key preservers of authentic practice.

02:51Graduates now serve in wellness centers, hospitals and NGOs worldwide, spreading healing and balance.
