00:17espn um but maybe a little time to reflect and what have you maybe different writers too i just

00:22right now obviously obviously yeah yeah the first four you picked up were uh were a plus first four

00:28i googled them i just i googled i googled durant trade report cards and i picked the first four

00:33that popped up on the google machine um that's a perfect i didn't need the gpa calculator for that

00:40one it spit out a 4.0 that's why i pulled up the gpa calculator did you get like a 4.5 for an a plus

00:45i don't know i think you get a 4.3 if you're at a school that does that yeah they this particular

00:50calculator just spit out a four so the rocket's got a perfect gpa they're the class valedictorian

01:00on the kevin durant trade phoenix not grading quite as well yeah phoenix got a d on that one

01:07phoenix from the athletic got a d a c from cbs sports and then c minuses from yahoo and bleacher

01:14report they're on academic probation according to this particular gpa calculator they have a 1.6 gpa

01:21on this trade and if you look at their roster now i didn't look at the phoenix side all that

01:25much all that closely i know we you know you and i have been looking at their draft capital situation

01:29and their salary cover they're all over the second apron for you cba nerds out there um i had no idea

01:37that they now have seven two guards on the roster yeah that's like i i saw in all the negative grades

01:43for the sons people kept saying okay so you traded for a player that provides you the exact same

01:48problem you already have is that the roster like you just you don't have the full complement of

01:54players you're heavily loaded in the backcourt uh on uh with like you brought in uh maybe a better

02:00version of the same types of guys you already have but it still doesn't fix anything as far as making

02:05the sons a competitive no they there was a tweet that came out last night that that that um revealed

02:10what minnesota was offering in this in their offer you know durant didn't want to go there so it's

02:15irrelevant um but if if durant had wanted to go there it would be relevant that trade would have

02:21been a better one than the rockets because it had rudy gobert in that trade it had a couple other

02:25guys like that's a trade like if you're if you're trying to stay competitive that actually gives you

02:29a roster where it's at least constructed sensibly there's a there's an element here um you know in

02:36terms of i think a lot of people the perception is that kevin durant basically just turn it kept

02:41turning may have just kept turning trade deals down until there was nobody there was no place

02:47nothing for the sons to do but go to the go to the rockets yeah yeah whether that's accurate or not

02:52who knows but i'm gonna i'm gonna buy into it hook line and sinker yes it feels like when domico

02:56basically said nope i only want to go to houston and you're like oh cool now there was less reason

03:03for domico from the outside looking in for domico to want to go to houston and houston alone yeah obviously

03:11obviously he has the durant it's more that there's all those ties to doka the steven adams

03:17to everything else but also they're just a much better franchise than the texans were when domico

03:22took the job i think it's smart like if you're durant it's smart like oftentimes you see these trades

03:26and you you want to go to a team deshaun watson's a good example now deshaun didn't hold up his end of

03:32the bargain by playing well but you go to a team that trades its next three first round picks for you in

03:37the nfl that severely damages their ability to put a championship contender around you yeah they

03:42the browns traded for the right to be the 2020 houston texans that's right it was like okay we'll

03:48have a quarterback that we like except even worse because now we're paying them five times more

03:52than the 2020 texans were paying their quarterback yeah yeah yeah no great great point so yesterday

03:58seth as you know um i put up a poll the day of the trade as to how people felt about it and i was i

04:03was surprised that people were here in houston that people were so overwhelmingly in favor of

04:09the trade that 90 of the voters in my poll felt either okay with it or strongly approved of it

04:16and that's with uh it's not like all your followers are from houston either so i always give a 10 90

04:22on a twitter poll to me is like uh uh basically unanimous yeah because you're gonna always have 10

04:28of people from outside of houston or 10 of people that are just contrarians so that's that's pretty

04:33damn that's close to unanimous in my mind um so i put up a second poll yesterday for the for the

04:38constituency that did not like the kevin durant trade have you looked at this yet or no i have

04:45not okay do not look at your poll okay ever i love when you guess about the the the the uh the

04:52pie poll results um pender poll for those who do not like the kevin durant trade from a rockets

04:58perspective yeah why do you not like the trade these were the four choices okay katie's age slash

05:05injury history is one choice okay katie's personality okay katie's likely contract extension coming up

05:13we gave up on jalen green those are the four choices boy that's a tough one man i could see

05:19this being split pretty evenly and those are all valid objections i agree close other than i don't i

05:26don't believe like jaylen green whatever but it's a valid it's valid if that's how you feel that's

05:30how you feel yeah yeah um it's an opinion you're wrong but it's how you feel all right uh so of those

05:35four things i think the most likely objection is katie's well the the contract is kind of tied to the age

05:43as well but so i'll just say the overriding issue would be his age and injury history i'm gonna say

05:50that that got 34 okay you you got i'm gonna give you a ding for getting the right answer i'm gonna

05:56give you a buzz because i mean 78.5 oh wow age and injury i'm with you i was surprised it was that

06:06lopsided because i talked to a lot of people the day of the trade like in person text social media i was

06:12communicating a lot and his just not liking katie was such a was such a uh an overwhelming response

06:20with the people i talked to i thought his personality would would would create the the rest of them are

06:26all like six percent seven percent eight percent almost eighty percent age and injury history the

06:32over and that's the one that i think emotionally you can flip that switch pretty quickly you know why

06:37partly because we all watch so many uh the tv series now on hbo or netflix or wherever else

06:44where you're accustomed to all of a sudden the the character you despised for the first three

06:48episodes wait a second no turns out he's the best one of all of the lot yeah yeah you can flip real

06:55quickly on that so i think so people people got over whatever personality objections they had and the

07:00more you hated that person the more you like them when you're on your side there is a huge

07:05dead cat bounce when it comes to that kind of thing yeah you know yeah yeah so this is uh and

07:10and i think kevin durant is kind of like okay when beverly was here you knew in your mind if you

07:15thought about it rationally okay if beverly leaves and he's playing for say the clippers or something

07:20and acts the exact same way yeah i'm gonna hate him even though but everything that he did

07:24with the clippers that you hated you loved when he did it with the rock yes yeah yeah man like i'm

07:29looking at durant cooking emmanuel ocho on twitter yesterday i'm like get him kd that's it get it yeah

07:34yeah yeah don't take no guff from the haters called him the worst linebacker of all time

07:38after after emmanuel ocho emmanuel ocho did this segment where he measures greatness based on

07:44how many titles you won divided by how many teams you played for oh yeah like steph curry's the

07:49greatest of all time because he did it all with one team kd won two titles he's been on five teams

07:54now so his greatness his ocho greatness factor is very very low kd said according to the great

08:00kevin durant legacy formula that was created in the best labs at m at mit emmanuel ocho is the

08:06worst linebacker of all time you sure you want to listen to this guy about great greatness because

08:12and he at the very least went to emmanuel ocho's pro football reference page to see if he'd ever won

08:18a championship or anything wasn't a little bit of research on that or at least had one of his

08:22minions do it yeah yeah that's our kd it's our kd and i'm not this is his city yeah and i've never been

08:28boy i've never loved him i've never stopped loving him ever since he emphatically came down

08:33underneath the rim and said this is my city that's about the city of houston and then called emmanuel
