00:00Thank you so much for coming for the Sanford Millennium Green Big Picnic.
00:06Some people still talking.
00:09What we used to do in primary school is to put your hand up when you got everybody's attention.
00:16It's alright. Simon's listening now.
00:21Thank you so much.
00:2325 years ago, this was just a field.
00:30It was a boggy field with a stream running on the edge of it.
00:36Some visionaries, I'll call them, decided to build a path between Sanford and Crediton.
00:48And Millennium Green was the first third of the path.
00:54And at the time, Tony Blair was giving...
00:57Well, not personally, but there was a Millennium Green grant.
01:03So we applied for that and were successful.
01:05There are some people here who are Sanford Millennium Green pioneers.
01:20They were here right at the beginning.
01:22So if anybody was here right at the beginning, just put your hands up, please.
01:26These are the people that you need to thank.
01:34And also, all the people that continue to make this place such a special place.
01:40Now, as it's such a blistering hot summer day, there will be water on the information tent if you get a bit thirsty.
01:55And also, Sanford Orchards have got water and all sorts of stuff.
01:59There's a few technical problems with Sanford Orchards at the moment.
02:02Oh, it's all sorted.
02:06You can pay with your card now.
02:09OK, I'm just going to hand over now to my friend Steve, who knows a lot about plants and he knows a lot about hedges.
02:18Ha ha ha!
02:20No thank you.
02:21All right.
02:21Oh, thank you.
02:21All right.
02:22All right.
