00:12This is over 8 million kids. That's according to a recent National Association of Children's
00:17Health study. Anxiety was the most common, followed by depression. Experts note in other
00:22areas, students are thriving. University of California, Irvine psychologist Candace
00:27Odgers tells the New York Times that kids are generally more educated and less likely to get
00:34pregnant or use drugs. However, quote, there are these really important trends in anxiety,
00:40depression and suicide that stop us in our tracks, unquote. The Times also reports federal
00:45research shows that teenagers as a group are also getting less sleep and exercise. They are also
00:52spending less in-person time with friends.
