Britain's King and Queen open final day of Royal Ascot 2025 under sweltering heat

Britain's King Charles III and Queen Camilla open the final day of Royal Ascot 2025 as the UK swelters during the hottest day of the year so far. According to the MET office, heatwave conditions will bring temperatures as high as 34°C on Saturday in eastern England. Royal Ascot, a famed sporting event in Berkshire, is a key event in the royal calendar. The annual five-day race meeting was said to be the late Queen Elizabeth II's favorite sporting event.
