I have been in Rishikesh for the last two weeks. I have been learning a lot about Yoga, and the main thing I have learnt is that Yoga is not about an hour class, but it is a way of life for hundreds of millions of people. I have really enjoyed the physical practices that I have done..."

00:00it's not medicine it's not oh this problem this solution it's not the way that we think of
00:04medicine in the west and like oh i have a headache but how do we actually bring you
00:11kind of seeing you speak to it i thought yes exactly exactly she was 25 when she came
00:20today is international yoga and what your experience in vishikes
00:25yeah so it's um it's been brilliant being in rishikesh for international yoga day
00:37i've actually been here for two weeks but the coincidence is that that i've
00:44coincided with international yoga day which is brilliant
00:47um it's um i've been learning a lot about yoga the the main thing i've learned about yoga is that
00:56it's not just a one-hour class that you do it's actually a way of life for hundreds of millions
01:01of people which i found like a it's astounding how ignorant i was about it um so that's been quite a
01:09learning and that um i've really enjoyed the daily practices that i've done obviously the physical
01:14practices being great for my body and the consistency of them but also the pranayamas
01:21and the yoga needle and relaxation methods and sound healing
01:27and i think it's been good for my soul as well so to be here on international yoga day and meet the
01:32swami has been a real privilege
01:37we listen to you jimbabwe coach and you under in jimbabwe team with coaching and
01:47what message in yoga you get to you well it's interesting i'm i was talking with the swami about
01:55teams actually and um the tendency for us as a sporting organization is to is to grab at that
02:05trophy that you want to win and everything's about winning but from my experience uh in playing and
02:12coaching winning is not quite enough there has to be something more something deeper something
02:18more meaningful than just winning because winning is a little hollow occasionally it's a bit of an
02:25anti-climax sometimes after you've won you've won so there has to be something more and we would we
02:32were talking about the um the influence you can have on other people and groups of people
02:40but you have to take care of yourself first you have to be in a good place yourself first to have
02:44that good influence on other people so um it was really nice to hear swami talk about those messages
02:51uh yeah so um this will be i i i did go to a i i i i wanted to go to a i i i wanted to go to
03:21i watched from afar the triveni ghat arti uh but this will be the first time i'll i'll see it from a
03:29closer perspective um i'm just interested to to watch and listen and learn and see see people um
03:38gathering together for a very good reason um and i'm really looking forward to learning a little
03:44bit more about indian culture and also about the yogi culture
