00:00Sunday night, game number seven, the Sports Grid Network.
00:04Yeah, we're going to have you covered here.
00:05It's Donnie Wright's out at Show Raniere.
00:06And also, it's the coach, James Young, which respect, R-E-S-P-E-C-T,
00:12something the Pacers haven't gotten a lot of so far.
00:14They forced a game number seven, but the odds makers,
00:17including the FanDuel Sportsbook coach, are saying,
00:19ah, it's okay, C's to win it.
00:21They'll be just fine.
00:21This line opened up after this game ended in game number six at eight and a half.
00:25We have a couple days to sort of get our eggs all in a basket here
00:29and see what's going to take place.
00:30That line this morning still sits eight and a half, a total.
00:33Two, 13 and a half in New Jersey at FanDuel overnight.
00:37That's now up to 215 here, so a much lower price point here on the total
00:40and still a heavy favorite for OKC.
00:43When you saw those numbers, Coach, pop up, what did you first think?
00:48Under and Pacers plus the points.
00:49I can't sit here and repeatedly time after time after time after time
00:57disrespect this team.
00:59I've done it far too long.
01:01So the last game of the regular season, the last game of the season,
01:05I'll put some respect on our name.
01:06So I'm only about, I don't know, seven months too late
01:08that I should have been giving this team some respect.
01:11But to me, you know, the thing I'm more comfortable with is the under.
01:15Game sevens, I just talked about it.
01:18Not a lot of guys with championship experience.
01:21Games are tight.
01:22Coaches shorten up their rotations.
01:24Right.
01:25So you may not see certain guys from Indiana.
01:28You may not see guys that are starters go off the court for long periods
01:33because what are you saving yourself for?
01:37You know, you don't have another game for four months.
01:40So to me, you know, I think you shorten the rotation.
01:44I think you use your timeouts a little bit better.
01:47So to me, the best thing I like is I like the game to go under that too.
01:50I want it to keep going up.
01:52I mean, you said it was 213 after 215.
01:54Yep.
01:55Let it keep steaming up.
01:57And I'll wait for that thing and I'll take the under because, you know,
01:59game sevens are usually slow down half court basketball.
02:03Game sevens are a crapshoot, coach.
02:08And if you're going to drop the total now to where it is,
02:12nearly 15 points off of where we started this series,
02:15and yet we're still going to come close,
02:17and I think this number will climb.
02:19You're going to give me nine, nine and a half points
02:22on a team that has all the pressure here, coach.
02:26I mean, it's one thing.
02:27Yeah, you lost the game.
02:29You come back on a Friday night in the regular season.
02:32This is a different animal.
02:34I mean, you're playing for an NBA title.
02:35There is no more game tomorrow.
02:37This is a young team, and it feels like it's all house money
02:41with Indiana getting this many points.
02:44Yeah, because no one expects them to be there.
02:46And I think that they're going to be in this game.
02:50I can see this game being decided in the last three, four minutes.
02:53So to me, and let's be honest, folks,
02:56we have to have a conversation of whether Rick Carlisle
03:01is the best coach in the NBA right now.
03:03Just based off of the last two years and what he's done,
03:07based off of what people perceive how good they are,
03:11I mean, let's be honest.
03:13I don't know about you guys, but I didn't have this going seven games.
03:17I didn't even have this going six games.
03:19I thought this could have been a sweep and the most five.
03:22So the fact that we're going to a game seven and you want to climb that number
03:29and get it to like nine and a half, oh, God, I'm taking the Indiana Pacers
03:33plus the points if I can get them at nine and a half
03:35in a four-possession game in game seven of the NBA Finals
03:38because I expect the game to be tight and going to be close.
03:42By the way, Coach, you asked a question over the break here,
03:44talking about like, okay, let's see who the MVPs could be.
03:47Should we have the game number seven, maybe go a little bit off the rails?
03:50The favorite's still SGA, but he's dropping here.
03:53He's at a minus 240 price now.
03:55Pascal Siakam at a plus 350 price.
03:57But how about this?
03:58T.J. McConnell to open the show was a plus 14,000, which would be 140 to one.
04:05He's dropped to 110 to one now over the past hour.
04:09People banking on maybe taking a flyer on T.J. McConnell,
04:12who has been sensational.
04:14Talk to me about this MVP market we're seeing on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
04:17Oh, I'm taking them as soon as I get off air.
04:20And it probably is going to drop to 90 to one.
04:22Folks, here's the thing.
04:25The problem with MVPs is more times than not, you go to the best player.
04:30And there's been mistakes when they gave it to Iguodala when they shouldn't have.
04:34But if you really have watched this series,
04:37if you really have watched this series,
04:41T.J. McConnell, every time they make a run,
04:44the kid is dead center in the middle of it, dead center.
04:48If you think about how that game turned late first quarter, early second quarter,
04:55T.J. McConnell, when that lead blew up at the end of the third quarter,
05:00T.J. McConnell.
05:01And I just think it's something where, listen,
05:04I'm not saying that you got to put a ton of money on it.
05:08All I'm saying is, is there is a chance that it could be him.
05:14Now, if you're looking at the game and it's minus 330 and SGA is minus 240 to be MVP,
05:21listen, it's not going to Jalen Williams.
05:23I don't think it's going to Jalen Williams.
05:25So I'd rather just take the minus 240 and bet that if I wanted to just go money line.
05:30But when you get to Indiana, I don't think it's Halliburton.
05:33I don't think it's going to be top.
05:35I think it's going to struggle.
05:36I'm telling you, you take Siakam and you take a couple of dollars on T.J. McConnell
05:41because of the fact that he may get the sympathy vote
05:47if that game is swinging back and forth
05:51and every swing that Indiana goes into the lead, he is behind it.
05:55I'm going to be looking at T.J. McConnell just for a couple of bucks for MVP.
05:59So, but when we get to this point, it's the first game seven we've had in nine years,
06:06coach, and the last one was actually pretty epic and a huge upset as well.
06:11But when you get to a game seven, this total is dropped for a reason.
06:15Offenses usually get grinded that nobody is going to surprise anybody in this game.
06:21It is.
06:22Nobody's going to be looking to make the mistake.
06:24It's going to come down to who can make the tough shots, right?
06:28My problem with OKC is there's only one guy I trust to do it, and it's SGA.
06:33And I got an entire Indiana team.
06:36You just talked about McConnell, Siakam.
06:39I mean, it feels like they have more opportunities to make those tough shots
06:43when it matters the most.
06:44Who do you trust on OKC besides SGA?
06:49Nobody.
06:50I mean, listen, Jalen Williams can get absolutely hot, right?
07:00But what's to say that he doesn't, right?
07:05And you look at the last time there was a finals, right?
07:08If I'm not mistaken, I think that's LeBron beating, coming back from 3-1 to win that game.
07:14But Kyrie winning, I think it was 93-89.
07:18So you go look at the track record of finals and game sevens.
07:24There are not a lot of high-scoring games, especially over the last 30 or so years.
07:29So to me, you're going to get a grind-out performance in the finals.
07:35You look at Miami Heat.
07:36They beat the Spurs.
07:37I think it was 95-88.
07:39You look at the Lakers game in 2010, that was 83-79.
07:45Like, I know the NBA is more open up and up and down,
07:48but you're going to get guys that are going to be extremely nervous.
07:52This game is going to start slow.
07:54It's going to play slow.
07:57And you very rarely get a finals game seven where a team wins by double digits.
08:03I don't even know the last time that happened where I saw something like that happen.
08:07And even if you go back to 2005, Spurs-Pistons, that was seven, right?
08:12So you don't get blowouts in game seven.
08:14So it's going to be tight.
08:16I would not be looking at a lot of overs at all, especially, you know, high numbers.
08:23SGA's number?
08:23No, not taking the over.
08:25There's no chance.
08:26That thing's going to be crawling, and they're going to let guys decide it,
08:30which means I think the game could get extremely physical.
08:34Refs will stay out of it.
08:35About 30 seconds left here, Coach.
08:37If there was a player prop that you're looking forward to, who might that be?
08:42Well, listen, you've got to find a guy that's going to be able to just shoot the ball
08:46and make shots.
08:47So I'm looking squarely at the three-point line and seeing who can knock down
08:52just a couple of threes.
08:53It could be someone that comes out of nowhere that you want to take to make two plus threes.
08:58Lou Dort minus 146.
08:59Maybe even, ready for this, someone like Miles Turner plus 102.
09:05Everybody sucks in.
09:06He stays outside.
09:07Those two will take a lot of shots, especially Miles Turner.
09:10By the way, don't ever bet Miles Turner rebounds.
09:14He's terrible.
09:15Poor Chad Holmgren.
09:17He's the coach.
09:17He's watching game seven.
09:19And so are we.
09:20More next right here on the early line.
09:21And also, yes, a game number seven that will take place in Oklahoma City on Sunday night
09:28as the Pacers and the Thunder decide who's going to carry home that Larry O'Brien trophy
09:33and who also is going to be the MVP of the NBA Finals.
09:37A lot to get to.
09:38The energy needs to be high.
09:40We got one more hour in this week for the early line, and we're ready to do it.
09:44So at this time, Joe, you know what we like to do.
09:46Reach out to the people.
09:47Ask them a question to see if we have to fade the public or not.
09:52In our Fade the Public poll at SportsGrid, the question today, it's simple.
09:56It's a Friday.
09:57You don't have to think too much.
09:59The question was, who will win game seven of the NBA Finals?
10:03There's only two choices.
10:05So there's no right in here and neither.
10:07Like, I'm surprised we didn't put a neither up there.
10:08Has to be the Pacers.
10:10Has to be the Thunder.
10:11And it looks like the public's saying now, it's going to be the Thunder.
10:14But only, Joe, about 58% on the Thunder, despite them being a heavy favorite in game number seven.
10:22Which way did you vote in this poll right here on the SportsGrid network?
10:27Yeah.
10:27Listen, the Thunder's deservedly a favorite to win it in this spot.
10:33But in a game seven, that number should be closer to 50-50, Donnie.
10:39The value is certainly on the dog here to get it done.
10:43And we saw it last time we had a game seven nine years ago.
10:46Why?
10:47We can certainly see it again here.
10:50Yeah.
10:50It's going to be interesting to play out.
10:52And also the question, right, as it was posed.
10:54If you're just asking, again, the winner of the series, which, again, the winner of game number seven will win this.
11:00Oklahoma City, only 58%.
11:02We didn't ask it was Oklahoma City minus six and a half, seven and a half, or eight and a half points.
11:07This was just asking who was going to win it.
11:09That is a lot of support for the Indiana Pacers.
11:13And rightfully so.
11:14We asked these questions the night after it happened, which was a big-time win for the Pacers.
11:18But are you shocked and surprised that less than 60%, less than six out of every 10 votes, went on the Thunder, despite how decided of a favorite they actually are and have been for this entire series?
11:29Well, we had a similar question yesterday, I believe, in trade to public, where we wanted to know, was it you're laying the point, taking the point, the over, the under, which way were you looking at?
11:41I think it was overwhelmingly OKC last night as a road favorite.
11:46Now they're an even bigger favorite at home, and they are expected to win.
11:52And in a game seven, when you are expected to win, don't be shocked when that doesn't happen.
11:57That's good.
11:59I mean, a game number seven, absolutely fantastic.
12:01You know, winner is going to have a parade, whether it's downtown Indianapolis or in Oklahoma City, which brings me to my next, you know, question here.
12:08Like, the Florida Panthers just won in the Stanley Cup.
12:12They're going to have a parade.
12:13You are in South Florida.
12:14Will you be in attendance at the parade here?
12:18I may mosey on down to the elbow room on Sunday as that parade takes off.
12:25It was pretty wild last year.
12:26It was in the middle of a rainstorm that we had in June.
12:31But hopefully clearer skies on Sunday, and it should be a whole lot of fun watching Brad Marshawn get absolutely trashed in Fort Lauderdale Beach.
12:40Yeah, and the only question for Brad Marshawn is, like, do I get trashed and step away and retire?
12:44Do I get trashed and come back with this scheme here?
12:46You know what's interesting about that, too?
12:47Like, Marshawn comes over so long in one city and a northern city in Boston and probably gets traded to Florida.
12:53It's like, all right, I'll make one last cup run, and if it ends early, I'm probably going to hang it up.
12:57Like, there's no way he hangs it up after.
13:00Looks like he's now, like, hey, put a statue out front of the arena here for Brad Marshawn.
13:04Like, he's one of the boys.
13:05Like, he's been there 15 years.
13:07And that tells you a lot about the organization and that locker room, that you can take a guy who was public enemy number one, Donnie, for his entire career.
13:19He's 37 years old.
13:20And yet he walks into a Florida, the champions locker room, the current champions locker room, and walks in.
13:27And it's like he had been there from day one.
13:29It says a lot about the character of the guys in that room, and it also says a lot about the front office not worrying that he could go in there and completely disrupt what they've had.
13:39So, all in all, very professional across the board from all of them.
13:44And who's giving a 37-year-old $10 million, by the way, Don?
13:47Who's doing that in the offseason?
13:50Cash him up, baby.
13:51We'll see if he comes back.
13:52I expect he actually will be back with the Florida Panthers and also a nice little transition where if we just had not the Kahn-Smith Trophy, which is the MVP for the entirety of the Stanley Cup playoffs, not just the finals,
14:03Marshawn, if it was the finals MVP, would have been right up there with a chance to win it.
14:06So, now as we transition back over to the NBA game number seven, which means there are some things up in the air.
14:12It's certainly a championship.
14:13It's game seven.
14:14The winner's going to take it.
14:15But also, who can be that MVP?
14:17And understand this, the NBA Finals MVP, not the NBA Playoffs MVP.
14:22And the price points here have been changing.
14:24You're going to see a graphic here with Shea Gilgis-Alexander at minus 250.
14:27That's dropped to a minus 240 price.
14:29Pascal Siakam was a plus 330.
14:31He's actually increased to a plus 350.
14:34But the biggest mover on the board right now, you have to say, is, you know what?
14:38Tyrese Halliburton, 21-1 on that graphic.
14:39He's down to 15-1.
14:41But that's not it.
14:41It's TJ McConnell, who's now a plus, or excuse me, yeah, a plus 110 price.
14:46Excuse me, 100.
14:47It's hard to say, 110-1, how high that number is here, down from the 140-1 price that he had.
14:54TJ McConnell, the big mover here.
14:58Yeah, and listen, he has been absolutely huge.
15:02But he's been huge off the bench.
15:04If we're talking about Finals MVP, listen.
15:08Yeah.
15:08The headlines are always going to be about Halliburton.
15:11And we've seen this, right, especially with the Pacers winning.
15:15If the Pacers win this, if you're going to bet the Pacers to win it all, you have to bet
15:21Siakam, because Siakam is not going to be in the headlines, but he is the most important
15:27part of why this team is where they are right now.
15:30And he's the only guy with a ring, Donnie.
15:33He's the only guy on this team with a ring who has been there and done it.
15:36So I think there is some pretty good value if you want to take a shot with the Pacers to
15:40win, then Siakam should be your MVP.
15:44Yeah.
15:44If we look at the FanDuel Sportsbook right now and say, where does that line sit, a massive
15:48favorite, which again, Oklahoma City's favorite by eight and a half.
15:51We just told you a poll that included just to win the game, money line, and not even getting
15:5560% of the votes was Oklahoma City in this game.
15:58The total, which opened up around that 213, 214 number, sits at 215 and a half.
16:02And I'm just reading a tweet out here from David Payne-Purdum.
16:05It says, the Thunder are currently eight and a half point favorites over the Pacers in
16:10game number seven.
16:11That would be the largest spread in an NBA Finals game since at least 1991.
16:16So a massive favorite.
16:18Hey, that's an easy victory for OKC.
16:20That's not the case.
16:21But a big spread here.
16:22But a lot of people, including the public, who are voting with us, giving the Pacers a
16:26heck of a shot just to get that outright victory on Sunday.
16:28Game sevens are totally different, especially when you're dealing with such a big favorite
16:35over a team that nobody has given any credit to or a shot the entire postseason.
16:41There is one team playing with a lot of house money, Donnie.
16:45And there's another team that's got the weight of the entire franchise, city, and the NBA on
16:51them.
16:51And very young.
16:54What are they going to do, Donnie, when they know it's coming down to them in the final five
16:58minutes and never been there before?
17:00That remains to be seen.
17:02And also, coach that hasn't been there before, right, for OKC.
17:05Franchise hasn't been there before.
17:07Players haven't been there before.
17:08We'll see how it shakes out.
17:09And it's going to be a lot of fun to watch there.
17:11Shea Gilgis, Alexander, no surprise at the FanDuel Sportsbook, always popping up with his
17:15points prop in the low 30s.
17:17He sits at a 32 and a half.
17:18Tyrese Halliburton gets an extra couple days to rest that calf.
17:22He's 14 and a half.
17:23Let me ask you this question.
17:24Forget about SGA.
17:24Tyrese Halliburton, points at 14 and a half.
17:27How are you feeling about that for Sunday night?
17:30Well, it wasn't a problem in this game.
17:32And I think, what are you doing?
17:3322, 21 minutes, somewhere in that ballpark here.
17:37Listen, if he's able to go and he got the rest, mostly the second half in that game,
17:42you know, he's already won how many games this postseason in the final minute?
17:48Can you do it again?
17:49Can you imagine Halliburton want to step back three to win an NBA championship?
17:53His dad's going to go crazy, you know, KC.
17:56We got movement, Joe, and here we got movement.
17:58It's game number seven.
17:59We've been waiting for movement, haven't we?
18:01Oh, I don't know.
18:01It's only been about two, two and a half hours at this point.
18:04But game seven is going to be on Sunday.
18:06The anticipation for game number seven, fantastic.
18:09Sunday night is a school night for me because, yes, I do have work on Monday morning.
18:13But I got to tell you, I'm going to be up for all four quarters as long as we have a competitive game.
18:18And the reason I say things are changing, the opening number here at the FanDuel Sportsbook was eight and a half on the price for Sunday's Game 7 pivotal battle here in Oklahoma City.
18:28We're now seeing eights at the FanDuel Sportsbook right now.
18:31But even more importantly, seven and a halves at some other outlets as well.
18:35Talk to me about this, Joe.
18:37Where do we see this?
18:38Because we said it yesterday.
18:39No doubt in my mind.
18:40Halliburton's going to be in that starting lineup.
18:41They're going to announce that that line is going to drop.
18:43And it did yesterday.
18:44Oklahoma City's an eight and a half point favorite.
18:46There was no way that was going to nine.
18:48But now it's down to eight at FanDuel.
18:50Other outlets, as I said, at seven and a half.
18:52Where do we find ourselves around game time on Sunday night, Joe?
18:57Listen, they're going to be the favorite.
19:00The question is by how much?
19:03OKC, I think the public, Donnie, is going to look at OKC as a team like, well, what do you expect?
19:09They can't win on the road anyway.
19:11But, you know, they're one and nine, I think, is how they finished against the number on the road.
19:16This postseason, they might just chalk it up to, well, they always bounce back at home.
19:21So I do think there's going to be a lot of public love for OKC before tip-off.
19:27But that doesn't change the fact we gave you the numbers.
19:30A game seven is anybody's ballgame.
19:33Halliburton is obviously healthy enough to be able to impact a game.
19:38He just did it at home in game six.
19:41I can't imagine laying more than three possessions with OKC in this spot, who's got all of the pressure.
19:51And meanwhile, Indiana's like, we're not even supposed to be here, right?
19:55So we'll just go ahead and play the game anyway and see what happens.
19:59Yeah, crazy, man.
20:00It's going to be crazy to see this out.
20:01And again, the Pacers, they got to love, you're right, Joe, the Pacers love this.
20:04Like, you know what the Pacers, they say, hey, we're not going to pay attention to any lines or anything like that.
20:09We play the underdog role, but the Pacers are probably going like, look at this, man.
20:13We are in game number seven.
20:14We've handled our business all the way through, and still we are decided underdogs.
20:18We love this role.
20:19We don't, like, hey, Pacers, minus one.
20:21Like, no, that's not our role here.
20:23Continue to disrespect us.
20:24We will continue to come up big, and I can't wait to watch it play out.
20:27What's the key ingredients for you so far that we look towards Sunday?
20:31Is it a good start for the Pacers?
20:32Is it fight off the crowd early?
20:34Does somebody have to step up?
20:35How does this game look through that first quarter, and what needs to be done where we say, oh, my goodness, Pacers really might do this?
20:44Well, yeah, listen, they got to do exactly what they have done.
20:47They cannot, under any circumstances, get down by double digits again and expect to, in a game seven, have to come all the way back.
20:57Now, the interesting part about this is that the total has opened up, what, at 214, 214.5, which is a dramatic drop from where we started this series.
21:08But we talked about it earlier.
21:10Game sevens, the history of game sevens, they're not running up and down the court.
21:15There is no game planning or X's and O's that's going to fake the other team out.
21:20This is going to be a grind out kind of game, and I think it's so important for the Pacers to make sure that they are within a couple of buckets early on in this thing and take the crowd out of it.
21:34If they do that like they did in game one there towards the end, I think they'll be there, but they cannot go down 15 points in the first half and expect that they're going to have some sort of dramatic comeback here in the second half.
21:51Yeah, exactly.
21:52You can't do that and expect to continue time and time again.
21:54But also, let's flip the narrative over from the Pacers to OKC.
21:57They are the favorites.
21:58They were supposed to win the championship.
22:00They were favored that way just about all season long, and now they're in a position to do that in game number seven.
22:05If we say, well, why not?
22:06Like that line is eight points at the FanDuel Sportsbook.
22:08They're expecting a win by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
22:11Why can't the Thunder win by 15, 20 points and repay the same thing the Pacers did to them on their home court?
22:17We've seen the Oklahoma City Thunder win games by double digits on their home court against the Pacers, and we take a look at players in this game that we expect high expectations from.
22:25Like SGA, his points prop, 32 and a half points in this game to be a major catalyst in a championship run, which, again, is down to one game here.
22:34Oklahoma City winning this and going away.
22:36Is it just playing their own brand of basketball, get back to playing the fundamentals on defense, and having SGA as the lead dog scoring 35-plus points in this one?
22:45Well, yeah.
22:46I mean, it got you to this point.
22:48The only problem is that this is a different animal because it's games.
22:52There is no more games after this, and you're going to be in the building, and what happens if Indiana punches first?
23:00The problem is we don't have a whole lot of experience on OKC where we can say, listen, they got guys that have been here before and done this.
23:08They'll be fine.
23:09The moment won't be too big.
23:11We don't know what this moment is going to be for them.
23:14Will they crack under the pressure of a game seven?
23:16It's not like we got a lot to look back on and be like, see, they'll be just fine.
23:21I don't know if they're going to be just fine.
23:23They may win, but are they going to win by double digits?
23:27I doubt it.
23:30Man, again, whoever wins, great.
23:33Just give me a good game.
23:34Now, granted, if I have a ticket on the game, I'm certainly going to be rooting on that side much, much more.
23:38But we talked about, like, who is going to step up because you never know.
23:41Like, yes, if OKC wins, it's probably going to be SGA.
23:44Like, in what world?
23:44Like, SGA played the entire game, scored 13 points, and they still won game seven and ended up with a cover.
23:49Well, then you might be in doubt on SGA not winning the finals because maybe somebody else had a 50-burger in a game seven and really proved their medal.
23:57But it seems like it's going to be SGA and or Pascal Siakam either way it goes.
24:01But who is stepping up in this spot?
24:03Because, yes, we say SGA.
24:05Yes, we say Siakam.
24:07And maybe Halliburton can knock down some shots here.
24:09But is there a dark horse that, like, a Chet Holmgren busts out with a 30-point effort in game number seven?
24:14Who is that guy that we might see?
24:15Like, you know what?
24:16He could do this thing in game seven.
24:18We see it all the time.
24:21They are going to need, I think, more importantly than anything, let SGA be SGA, Donnie.
24:27But they are going to have to do a better job collectively as a team defensively.
24:34They have been elite defensively all year.
24:36I think they're very suspect offensively.
24:40So if I'm Oklahoma City, I need to know that that defense is going to show up when it matters.
24:47If it does, I don't think it'll matter if they have an off night offensively.
24:52Recapping game seven of the NBA Finals.
24:56That's what we'll be doing on Monday morning of the early line.
24:58But it's great to see that we have a game number seven this weekend.
25:01It'll be fun to watch.
25:02It's a heavy favor for OKC.
25:03Can the Indiana Pacers shock the world?
25:05Because, again, not very many people gave them a lot of hope entering into the playoffs,
25:09let alone get to the NBA Finals and win the NBA Finals.
25:13Joe Neri's got you the rest of the way on the early line.
25:15I'm out of here.
25:15I'll see you back on Monday.
