Gerhard Struber confirmed as new Bristol City Head Coach

00:00Bristol City have confirmed finally that Gerhard Struber is indeed their new head coach

00:05after much speculation at the Ashton Gay Club over the last few weeks since Liam Manning's departure.

00:12Gerhard Struber has joined the Robins until 2028.

00:17Yeah, I think that we make the next steps, of course.

00:21We know we have a young group of players.

00:24We want to do everything that we make our style of play very clear for every single player

00:32and on the way what we want to go that we developed, especially with our strong academy

00:41that we always bring and give young players a chance to develop also in the first team

00:46and on the same time to create results.

00:49This is something where I have a big experience to integrate and develop young players

00:56and this is important to achieve in the end the goals

01:02and the goal is, of course, that we will bring the group further.

01:09And Bristol Roe's new assistant head coach John Stead has revealed the connection he has

01:14with head coach Daryl Clark and why this will help the club moving forward.

01:19Yeah, well, it's good.

01:21You know what you're going to get with Daryl.

01:22I think everybody knows that.

01:23He's obviously a legend here.

01:25So, you know, it's difficult to follow him with anything because he's, yeah, he's a live wire.

01:31He's a fantastic man manager.

01:33He knows how to get the best out of players.

01:35He's a serial winner.

01:36You know, he's got promotions at this level, obviously, with this club as well.

01:39So it's just one of those where he's just somebody that's extremely infectious to be around

01:45and I think that's why the fans take so well to him.

01:48That's why the players love him and he's great to work with.

01:50He lets me get on with my job.

01:52We have a fantastic relationship.

01:55We've known each other for years, actually.

01:58Not really well, but we've crossed paths a lot with his Hartlepool days and back in the day.

02:03But, yeah, this is the first time I've worked with him, obviously, at Barnsley

02:06and we got on really well.

02:08So it just, with my time coming to an end at Barnsley, it seemed like a perfect fit

02:12and I was delighted when he gave me the call.
