00:00now we are having this to deal with this issue of the trump tariffs
00:08as a country as a region we are for rules-based multilateral arrangements
00:19we do not share this
00:21or or do not endorse or support or condone any unilateral action it does not matter from any
00:31country we promote peace and we stand firm despite the fact they were relatively small country we do
00:39not fear to express our views be it on the israeli aggression and colonization of gaza
00:50or provocation to iran we stand firm and we are prepared to face whatever issues raised
00:59but at the same time we observe the principle of or adopt the principle and policy of centrality
01:07nobody can dictate that we should be too friendly to japan or china or united states we are trading
01:14country when open trading country and the policy must be to protect the interest of this nation and our
01:22people you know united states is still cumulatively and present the greatest investor trading partner
01:32with malaysia you have ene here semiconductor you know that 60 percent of our export is to the united states
01:43which means our relations with united states notwithstanding our differences in many of the foreign
01:50policy issues or this unilateral decision on tariffs our relationship with united states must remain strong
01:59which means we must continue the engagement i just received the note from minister zafro this morning
02:10we're talking about the series of meetings with the commerce secretary with the u.s state representative
02:20progressing very well in terms of negotiations on tariff but at the same time we also represent
02:26asian interest and prime minister ishiwa for example when he called he agreed that the commerce secretary
02:34or minister of japan should then coordinate so that we take an asian position we work with japan
02:41korea and china to engage with united states why to prove to ensure that trading investments remain paramount
02:53and must be based on a multi-lateral
03:04so there is some other issues of course we take a very strong position against the
03:12provocative actions by north korea
03:15which is affecting of course the security of the region
03:19of south korea of japan and we take a position very clearly and
03:30we in asian have that consensus because we also have to deal and grapple with the issue with the
03:36south china sea but our relationship with china is very close
03:40not many countries can record that um last month we had um or a month earlier we had uh
03:52president jiping a non-official visit here and the following month we had premier li chiang
03:58which could not have happened if our relations with china is not extremely close
04:06why because first the principle of centrality secondly because we are trading nation we need all the
04:17investments support training transfer technology that china can offer as the japanese have offered for
04:25decades in the past
04:36tomorrow
04:40um
04:48uh
04:50uh
04:52uh
04:54uh
