Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has described as “unfortunate” the leaked phone call between Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and former Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen about the ongoing border dispute.
00:00The issue of Vietnam, a question about Vietnam, on Thai-Cambodian border, it's unfortunate there was this alleged leak of this conversation between Pai Deng Tan and Hung Sen.
00:19But I think the interest is of course to try to cool off the tensions.
00:26In my discussions with Prime Minister Hun Manet and Prime Minister of Thailand, both have agreed that they would at least continue with this sort of engagement.
00:42And that was supposed to be just before the 14th this month.
00:47Now, they did not achieve too many results, but at least for a time secure this understanding, no provocations, no presence of, you know, strong combative military personnel.
01:04And just secure that understanding that the more contentious areas dealt with probably in a more sober, controlled, restrained manner.
