01:50On your screens right now, pictures are from Beersheba in Israel, where a hospital has been struck.
02:06Blue smoke emerging out of the hospital.
02:08Pictures of chaos and confusion at the Beersheba hospital in southern Israel,
02:13where there's a direct hit at a hospital.
02:16On the part, in fact, right now, on your screen, pictures are from the very moment when the hospital was struck.
02:24You can see paramedical staff as well right out there.
02:28They've all stepped out. It's escalation in the situation.
02:32In West Asia and how, a hospital has been struck.
02:37Reports indicate an Iranian ballistic missile, which has struck Soroka hospital in southern Israel.
02:46Right now, there is an assessment which has been done, obviously, for the situation, how bad things are, casualties and the kind of damage.
02:56But this also, in fact, highlights the manner in which things have escalated in the last few days in a big way.
03:02I'm going straight across to Pranay for more details on that.
03:06Pranay, this is escalation and how?
03:09This is southern Israel, where a hospital has been struck, where there would be patients and obviously, assessment being done for casualties right now.
03:17If you see the geography of Israel, Sneha, you can make out that Israel is very densely populated.
03:25Israel doesn't have the strategic depth because it's a smaller country.
03:28If you see the size comparison between Iran and Israel, Israel is 75% lesser, like smaller than Iran.
03:36So this clearly shows that the chances of Israeli population taking a hit of an Iranian ballistic missile is much, much higher.
03:44And therefore, if you see the ballistic missile defense system of Israel or whatever they have, like Iron Dome or David Sling or the Aero system, they are not meant, they are only meant to thwart the smaller missiles or the smaller, like, you know, incoming weapons.
04:04But clearly, the ballistic missiles has much more power, and Iran has managed to launch the ballistic missile repeatedly.
04:11So this is the sixth or seventh day of the conflict.
04:14And, you know, even now, the Soroka Hospital in Israel is hit by the Iranian ballistic missile.
04:20We can make out with these visuals.
04:22And various other areas are also being targeted, like the Ben Gurion Airport of Tel Aviv or the Haifa region.
04:30Many other areas of Israel are also vulnerable, as well as they are taking hit.
04:38Because if you see the trajectory, if you see the pattern of Iranian missile strike, they are sending the barrage of missiles.
04:44And out of those barrage of missiles, the Israeli air defense system is able to knock out, like, over 80% of it.
04:53But the rest of the missiles are taking hits, and they are, like, you know, they are causing damage in areas which are civilian, like, which has civilian population, which has, like, you know, facilities like schools or institutions.
05:08So this clearly shows an escalation as far as the Iran-Israel conflict is concerned.
05:14While on the other side, the Israeli Air Force is continuously taking these, like, you know, carrying out the wave of airstrikes on Iranian territory.
05:23They have recently targeted the Tehran, which is the capital of Iran.
05:26And also the IDF, Israeli Defense Forces, has warned people in Arak region, which is also a city where a nuclear facility of Iran is located.
05:34They have asked people in Arak to leave the city to minimize the damage.
05:40So this clearly shows that increasingly the civilian facilities are now also coming under attack with these escalation of tensions.
05:49And both sides are escalating, mounting these strikes.
05:52The Iranians are carrying out missile strikes, while on the other side, the Israelis are carrying out the air strikes and air raids on different locations of Iran.
06:01You know, these are simmering tensions, which have now escalated into a full-blown conflict, isn't it, Pranay, at this point in time.
06:07Both sides are raining missiles.
06:09Just give us an overview of the situation and how tense the last few days really have been.
06:15And what really is the way forward as America keeps, you know, the world guessing on what its position is really as far as this war is concerned.
06:25You're absolutely right, the tensions are escalating.
06:28If you have asked me that, like, you know, what is the headway, where we are going, you have to take the lead from President Donald Trump's statement.
06:37He has asked Iran to go for unconditional surrender.
06:42So if the surrender is the only option available, is Iran ready to surrender?
06:46Is there anyone who can mediate?
06:49Because President Donald Trump referred regarding his conversation, his telephone call with Vladimir Putin.
06:58And he said in as many terms that, you know, Russia should back off from this conflict because the U.S. is there.
07:05And the U.S. or the U.S. President Donald Trump is clearly siding towards Israel as well as this conflict is concerned.
07:11So if you see the conflict is escalating, the conflict has a threat of a spillover to other regions as well, be it the state of Hormuz, be it the adjoining areas.
07:22We do not know which way this conflict will go.
07:24But the only, the rock bottom, you can call it Sneha, that what the U.S. is looking at, what the Israel is looking at is the denuclearization of Iran.
07:34And that will have a bigger price for the Iranians to pay because over 600 people have already died in Iran.
07:43Also, there is a civilian damage and the life loss in Israel is also being reported.
07:47So clearly there is an escalation. There is no de-escalation right now on the horizon.
07:53There is no mediation process right now currently underway.
07:56So this clearly shows that not only the tensions are mounting, but also we can expect, like, you know, bigger and wider strikes in coming days.
