00:00There are beautiful dining destinations, and then there's this.
00:04Perched high above the Amalfi Coast in the town of Ravello, you'll find Palazzo Alvino,
00:08a.k.a. the Pink Palace, home to some fantastic dining options and 100, yes, 100 different kinds of martinis.
00:18I'm Stacey Leska for Food & Wine, and this is Culinary Adventures.
00:22Palazzo Alvino isn't just a hotel. It's a piece of living history.
00:29Family-run, wildly elegant, and with just 43 rooms, it's a destination that feels ultra-exclusive.
00:37And while the marble floors, grand lounges, and rooftop plunge pool are divine,
00:42today we're here for something even more decadent.
00:45Now look, I love a lengthy bar menu, but the lobster and martini bar is something wholly unique.
00:52Guests can choose from its extensive menu of 100 different kinds of martinis that come shaken and
00:58stirred, all lovingly created by Salvatore Anastasio, the hotel's maestro of martinis.
01:04This is the pink martini, fresh lemon, fresh raspberry, rose, lychee, and vodka.
01:10It's very simple, nice, amazing.
01:12Next week, I make the macchamaterain, the lemon, rosmavish syrup, italicus, inomodo, and macconi 42.
01:19Gin macchamaterain.
01:20The finished product is a vibrant baby blue drink that matches the sky and the sea just
01:27outside the hotel.
01:28Finally, we finish things off with the Rovello Lemon Drop.
01:31Fresh lemon, tacca di te, limoncello, lemon soda.
01:35The leaves, the minks.
01:37The ultimate local drink, all made from local amalfi lemons plucked from the trees around
01:42the property, giving a true sense of place at first sip.
01:47While the lobster and martini bar's menu certainly is impressive, so too is the hotel's Michelin
01:53star dining right here at Rossellini's.
01:55Rossellini's is where southern Italian food gets the fine dining treatment.
02:00Think handmade pastas, locally caught fish, and wine pairings that you will rave about
02:05for months after you leave.
02:07Want something more laid back?
02:08Grab a seat at the hotel's casual terrace lounge and snack on crudo, more pasta, and
02:13plenty of cheese.
02:15Of course, you can always choose to sip on something special at the hotel's very own
02:19private beach club, where you'll always find a waterside seat and where the wood fire oven
02:24is ready to bake you a delicious pizza any time of day.
02:28So the next time you find yourself on the Amalfi Coast, do yourself a favor.
02:31Skip the crowds, head for the hills, and come find the perfect drink for you.
02:36Because surely, it's waiting for you here.
02:38Now, I've got to go try a couple more.
02:40I'll see you next time.
