00:00Many, many years ago,
00:28when the people of Israel were a great nation ruled by King Saul,
00:31they fought a long and bitter war against their ancient enemies, the Philistines.
00:36In those days, soldiers used swords and spears and bows and arrows,
00:41and they wore heavy armor and carried shields to protect themselves in battle,
00:46so that only the biggest and strongest men were taken into the army.
00:49Well, in this war, the Israelites and the Philistines were pretty evenly matched.
01:01They fought many hard battles, and each side lost many men,
01:04but neither side could completely conquer the other.
01:07Then one day, while the Philistines were camped on one side of the Great Valley
01:12and the Israelites on the other,
01:14there came out of the camp of the Philistines
01:16a champion of their cause,
01:19a huge giant,
01:21taller and stronger and bigger
01:24than any man anyone had ever seen.
01:26He wore very heavy armor,
01:34and his face was fierce and cruel,
01:36so fierce and cruel
01:37that it would strike fear into the hearts of the bravest.
01:41This was Goliath,
01:43the giant of Gath.
01:45He strode to the center of the valley,
01:47faced the armies of Israel,
01:49and in a voice like thunder,
01:51he hurled this defiance at them.
01:52I am Goliath,
01:55the giant of Gath,
01:57and the Philistines have chosen me as their champion.
02:00You, soldiers of Israel,
02:01choose a man for you,
02:03and let him come down here and fight with me.
02:06If he kills me,
02:08we will be the servants of Israel.
02:10If I kill him,
02:12you will be slaves to the Philistines.
02:15I defy any man to accept my challenge.
02:22When the men of Israel saw Goliath
02:26and heard his defiant challenge,
02:28they were afraid,
02:30for they had no one to match his size and strength.
02:34Not one among them
02:35dared go down and do battle with the giants.
02:42Not, that is,
02:43until the shepherd boy David heard Goliath's challenge.
02:47Now David was just a boy.
02:48He knew nothing about swords and spears
02:51and fighting wars,
02:53but he was a thoughtful boy too,
02:56and a good boy,
02:57because he believed in God
02:58and trusted in him.
03:01So,
03:02when he heard Goliath defying King Saul's army,
03:05he turned to his brothers and said,
03:07In defying the army of Israel,
03:10Goliath defies God.
03:12Is there no one here to go out
03:13and do battle against the enemy of the Lord?
03:15David's brothers were first surprised
03:22and then angry at him.
03:23Go back to your flocks
03:24and leave wars for fighting men.
03:28But David wouldn't be put off.
03:30I will do it, he said.
03:32Send word to King Saul.
03:34Tell him that I will go down into the valley
03:35and do battle with Goliath the giant.
03:37When the king saw how determined David was,
03:43he gave him his blessing
03:44and offered him his own royal armor and sword.
03:47But David wouldn't take them.
03:48He wasn't a soldier.
03:50Instead,
03:51he went to a nearby stream
03:52and selected five smooth stones.
03:55He put these in his shepherd's bag.
03:57He took his stick in his left hand
03:59and in his right hand,
04:00he held a slingshot.
04:01That's all.
04:02With both armies looking on,
04:04excited and expectant,
04:05David went down into the valley
04:07to meet Goliath.
04:11They met in the middle of the valley.
04:13David looking up at the giant,
04:14confident and unafraid,
04:16and Goliath looking down
04:18on the unarmed boy
04:18with eyes full of hatred.
04:20Suddenly,
04:21the giant Philistine
04:22roared in a terrible fury.
04:24I have defied all the armies of Israel
04:27to give me a man to fight,
04:29and they have sent a boy against me.
04:31What?
04:32Am I a dog?
04:33That you come against me with a stick?
04:38David answered him calmly,
04:40I come against you in the name
04:43of the Lord of hosts,
04:44the God of the armies of Israel,
04:47whom you have defied.
04:49Your sword and your spear
04:50and your shield
04:51will not save you, Goliath,
04:52for this day
04:53you shall learn
04:54that the Lord fights
04:56on the side of right.
04:57Goliath let out an angry snarl.
05:00So be it.
05:01Defend yourself, boy.
05:02Goliath the giant
05:07rushed forward
05:08to make quick work
05:09of the boy champion
05:10of the Israelites.
05:11David stood his ground.
05:13He reached into his shepherd's bag,
05:15took out one stone,
05:17he fixed it in his slingshot,
05:19and he let it fly.
05:29The giant was dead,
05:31and the simple shepherd boy
05:32who trusted in God
05:34had done what all
05:35of King Saul's army
05:37hadn't been able to do.
05:39David lifted his eyes to heaven
05:40and he whispered a prayer.

07:54Paul Bunyan was so tall, he covered miles with every step.
07:58with every step why one day he started walking across the country he walked
08:02across Ohio Indiana Illinois and then stepped into the state of Wisconsin
08:07there he met an old farmer his head bowed down with grief the farmer told Paul his
08:14story I'm going down the road feeling bad oh my crops have failed and now I'm
08:22feeling sad my family is hungry and we have no place to live I'm going down the
08:31road feeling bad and with five blows of his axe Paul Bunyan cleared a space of
08:3910 miles for a brand new farm thank you Paul Bunyan cried the farmer you're
08:45welcome said Paul as he took an extra big step and walked from Wisconsin into
08:50Montana yes Paul Bunyan did some remarkable things all right as a
08:55soldier in the Revolutionary War he faced a whole line of cannon as the Hessian
09:01soldiers fired at him he picked up a tree trunk and batted their cannonballs right
09:05back like baseball once when pirates were roaming the East Coast of the United
09:12States he splashed his foot in the ocean and started a wave that sank the whole
09:17pirate Navy oh and I almost forgot he also built the Rocky Mountains Paul grabbed a
09:23hill with either hand with a ring ting a tim ring it did not nay and set them down so
09:28they would stand in a row he built the Rockies up so high the topmost peak held up
09:36the sky with a ring ting a tim ring it did not nay then came the biggest job of his life the country had no
09:48inland waterway large enough for big ships carrying heavy freight so Paul Bunyan began to dig
09:55soon he had scooped out hundreds of miles of earth now he wanted rain so he clapped his hands
10:07together and down poured the rain until the holes in the earth were filled with the Great Lakes now one of the Great Lakes was not
10:24named Lake Erie and the town of Buffalo was on its shore it took just another day's work for Paul
10:31Bunyan to dig the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany and the inland waterway was completed in his later
10:39years with his big jobs done Paul Bunyan went back to one of his favorite hobbies mountain making
10:45but this was a mountain for children a rock candy mountain
10:53oh the buzzing of the bees in the popcorn trees near the chocolate ice cream fountain where the jelly beans
11:05grow and the milkshakes blow down the big rock candy mountain oh the children eat their fill of the
11:12whipped cream hill and no one's ever counting there's so much to eat life is one long treat on that big rock
11:20candy mountain did Paul Bunyan really live well nobody knows for sure oh mighty Paul
11:33Paul Bunyan he lived long ago his strength and his goodness helped America grow
11:46improve the individuals especially roads in the mountains of their mountains crab

12:11Many hundreds of years ago, the good King Richard, known as Richard the Lionhearted,
12:36left England to take part in the Crusades, the war against the heathens who had captured
12:42the Holy City. In his absence, he placed his brother John on the throne. As soon as he
12:49was king, John turned on the good nobles of the kingdom, stole their goods, and drove
12:54them out of England. Among these nobles were the old Earl of Huntington and his son, Robin.
13:04Father, I've come to say goodbye. Robin, where are you going? To Sherwood Forest. King John
13:10has declared me an outlaw, and that outlaw I will be. In Sherwood Forest, Robin Hood banded
13:20together with other young men like himself, vanished by the wicked king. Men like Will
13:25Scarlet. Outlaws we are, Will Scarlet, but outlaws such as never were before and never
13:32will be. Just how do you mean, Robin Hood? I mean this, Will. No, let me show you. Do you
13:38see those two fat men coming down the road? I see them. A couple of merchants, rogues and
13:44wealthy. And do you see that old woman in rags, weeping in sheer hunger? I see her too. Well,
13:51watch. And keep a hand to your arrow in case I need help. And so quickly, they became known far
14:01and wide. Robin Hood and his merry man of Sherwood Forest, taking from the evil to give to the poor,
14:09defenders of the weak and oppressed, the one hope of England's people.
14:13Some time later, Robin set off by himself in the forest.
14:23He started across a bridge which lay across a stream, a bridge consisting of a single log of wood.
14:30But facing him, blocking the way, was a stranger, a tall man with broad, powerful shoulders.
14:37I'm afraid there's only room for one of us to cross at a time.
14:41I think it ought to be the better man. Stand and fight!
14:48With only wooden sticks as weapons, they fought long and hard. Finally, with one quick,
14:54powerful motion, the stranger knocked Robin Hood into the stream.
14:57Well, well done, fellow. What do they call you?
15:09John Little is my name.
15:10John Little. Well, I'll call you Little John. And I want you to join my band as my next in command.
15:20And now the band of merry men was complete. And just in time. For King John had posted a reward of
15:31ten thousand pounds for the capture of Robin Hood. And none was trying harder to win that reward than
15:37the Sheriff of Nottingham. Robin, I have news. The Sheriff of Nottingham is staging an archery contest
15:43with a golden arrow as the prize. A golden arrow? What a prize.
15:47His purpose in holding the contest is to lure you there. Ah, that may be, but I shall go anyway. In disguise.
16:03The distance will be fifty paces. You, that beggar over there, get out of the way.
16:12Hi. Why, I'm one of the marksmen, sir. You? A marksman?
16:18Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh. That's rich.
16:26One by one, the finest bowmen in the land shot their arrows.
16:31Finally, one arrow lay in the exact center of the circle. A bullseye.
16:36He won! He won! The winner is Adam of the Dead.
16:44Pardon, Sheriff. I have not yet competed. You? Well, maybe it will bring us that.
16:55Robin let fly.
16:56Robin! A perfect shot. Right on top of the arrow in the center, splitting it down the middle. Robin had won.
17:09A shot like that? Only one man in all this land can shoot so well. Robin Hood! After him! Catch him!
17:16But the sheriff was too late. Robin was already speeding back to Sherwood Forest.
17:29As Robin entered the forest, a knight appeared and challenged him. In the midst of their battle,
17:35the knight suddenly put down his sword. Enough. Enough. I didn't recognize you.
17:40What? Why, it's your majesty. King Richard the Lionhearted. Back from the crusade.
17:51Robin Hood, your exile is over. You and your men, come back to your homes.
18:00But Robin Hood and his men declined the king's offer. They preferred to remain in Sherwood
18:05for us, together, living their adventurous lives, taking from evil men to give to the poor.
18:22and there it is.
18:35Join our history in the fight and home-to-investment and
18:50500 years ago, there were people on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, but neither knew about
19:05the other. On the western side, our side, the people had reddish-brown skins and lived
19:10in huts or wigwams. On the eastern side, in Europe, the people were white-skinned. They
19:17had learned how to build houses and large sailing ships, but they still didn't know much about
19:21the rest of the world. In fact, most of them believed the earth was flat. Then one day,
19:27a mapmaker named Christopher Columbus had an idea. Do you know what? I think the world
19:35isn't flat at all. I think it's round like a ball. Did you hear what he said? Did you
19:40hear what he said? He said that the world is round. Oh, he's crazy. He's insane. I think
19:46the world isn't flat at all. I think it's round like a ball. The world was flat in the
19:51brim of your hat, and that is very plain. I know that I'm right. Oh, I know that I'm
19:56right when I say that the world is round. Oh, I'm right. Oh, I'm right. My thinking is
20:03sound, and I'll prove the world's round. It won't take very long. But it did take long,
20:09seven long years before Columbus could convince a king or a queen to let him try out his idea.
20:15Then Queen Isabella of Spain agreed to supply the ships and men for his trip. I will discover
20:22a short cut to India, and bring back some of the great wealth I find there. And I can
20:28do it, for I know the world is round. And instead of going east to India, I shall sail west and
20:35reach India around the other way. It will be a shorter and cheaper way, for I'll do it all
20:41by sea. Queen Isabella provided Columbus with three ships, the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa
20:48Maria. And on August 3rd, 1492, they set sail across the unknown Atlantic. High on the foaming
20:58tide over the ocean. Onward, our ships will ride. Onward, my sailors. The ships sailed onward,
21:15but two long months after they started, there was still no sign of land ahead. Turn back, Columbus. Turn back, Columbus.
21:31We'll not turn back until we find India. Onward, men. By October 10th, the sailors and the crew were ready to take matters into their own hands.
21:41If Columbus won't do as we ask, we'll put him in chains. And we'll turn the ships around ourselves.
21:46Wait! Have you heard? One of our men has just seen a branch in the ocean.
21:51What of it? It had fresh berries on it. That means we're near land. Hooray!
21:57Two days later, the ships reached land, and Columbus and his crew saw the people with reddish-brown skins who lived there.
22:04Oh, I think it is rather surprising that they should have reddish-brown skins. But now since we have landed in India, then these people must be Indians.
22:16We'll call this part of India San Salvador, and I take possession of it in the name of the King and Queen of Spain.
22:28The people Columbus called Indians were very friendly, and they gave Columbus and his men many gifts, but not the rich jewels and gold for which they had come.
22:37For Columbus really wasn't in India at all. He was on one of the islands off the coast of America. But because of Columbus's mistake, the natives of America have been called Indians ever since.
22:49Columbus visited other islands near San Salvador, looking for the great wealth of India. And then he and some of his men returned to Spain.
22:58Hooray! Hooray for Admiral Christopher Columbus!
23:03Hooray!
23:04Columbus had no trouble getting ships and men for his second voyage, but he still hadn't the slightest idea that he was headed for the vast continent of America,
23:13and that he would have had to cross it and sail over the Pacific Ocean before he could reach India by traveling west.
23:19The men of Europe were no longer afraid of the ocean. Columbus made two more voyages, and other explorers followed. But each year on October 12th, we celebrate Columbus Day, the anniversary of that day in 1492, when Columbus first sighted the land of the new world, America.
23:41The landing on Earth's descent.
23:44The landing tower built on his chart where contrives him and checks him locally, including on his chartroids, FIFA 235-99 range.
23:48The liner broke down by the
24:04앞으로's andريques being discovered before the sea at the bend, they ate his feet exactly the same time in Tennessee with her attackroids on the islands, but they didn't bounce away his lâmpath over in Jerusalem as the landㅋㅋㅋㅋ.
24:09along the banks of the Mississippi River there once lived a boy named Tom Sawyer who caused his
24:22Aunt Polly more trouble than a barrel of catfish Tom Sawyer you broke Judge Thatcher's window

25:27creeping to the campfire the pirates came upon two men quarreling with each other Dr. Robinson and
25:36Injun Joe a third man a tramp named Muff Potter was asleep nearby suddenly the engine drew his knife
25:44and struck the doctor down quickly the engine put the knife in the hand of the third man dozing near
25:49the fire why the engine's gonna blame someone else that tramp Muff Potter he'll be arrested for sure
25:56like startled deer the pirates sped back to their boat and swore each other to secrecy only three of
26:07us know the truth Bill if we talk that engine will scalp us Muff Potter was arrested and it looked as
26:17though the truth would never come out then one day Muff Potter's lawyer hauled Tom Sawyer to court and
26:23dragged the truth out of him now under oath point to the man who used this knife that night on Jackson's

28:05carefully Tom spliced their pants and shirts together then tied one end to a beam soon they
28:19lowered themselves to the floor make it for the river now Tom wait a minute engine Joe must have
28:24headed for the cave on the other side of the island he's gonna rebury the treasure there let's go
28:29after him not me I'm going home
28:36not long after a ferry boat took a picnic crowd to Jackson's Island and Tom invited Becky Thatcher along
28:43do you really think engine Joe hid the treasure in the cave Tom well I'm not sure but it would be a good place
28:50why don't we explore it right now
28:53suddenly Tom tripped over something fell to his knees Becky look where I tripped
29:01over the treasure that's wonderful now let's go back wait I can't see the entrance to the cave
29:07anymore Becky we're lost
29:12grimly Tom and Becky wandered underground they had almost given up when they made a
29:19turn in the passageway and then look the light there's the entrance we're safe
29:24later on Tom told the townspeople about the cave they were sure engine Joe would return to get his
29:33treasure so they set up a guard and waited one day he returned and was caught
29:40I give up I go peaceful Tom had helped catch engine Joe so he was a hero and he
29:51had his share of the treasure too but all the money in the world couldn't keep him
29:56out of trouble nor keep him from having more adventures
30:26new year's day in Persia was the most celebrated day of the year wonderful shows were prepared to entertain the king and the prince at the end of the program a lone figure stood before the king with a beautiful horse your majesty I beg thee look upon this wondrous animal it is no
30:56not real but an ingenious machine that will carry me anywhere I wish just by turning a peg
31:02well if true it is indeed a wonderful animal what is the price it is not for sale sire but I would
31:09exchange it for a portion of your kingdom well for such a trade I must know more about this horse my
31:16son Prince Prama will test the animal for me the owner started to show the prince how to control the
31:21horse but before he could tell him all Prince Prama turned the peg and away
31:26he flew he doesn't know how to bring it back it's a trick to kidnap the prince throw this man
31:32in jail until my son returns as the horse's owner was taken away the king scanned the skies for the
31:39flying prince but he was out of sight high above the clouds blew the enchanted horse with the frightened
31:45prince he traveled hundreds of miles but he couldn't control the animal he twisted the peg but the horse
31:53continued to fly upward and onward at last he found a small knob behind the animal's ear he gave it a turn
32:02and the enchanted horse started to descend as he came closer to earth the prince saw he was in a strange
32:09kingdom I will be in danger if I'm found but I can't control the horse the amazing animal carried Prince
32:16Prama toward a palace courtyard after I land I'll turn the peg maybe it will fly away again perhaps
32:23right back to my own country so intent was the prince on the controls that he didn't watch the archway through
32:30which the horse flew he was knocked off the horse into a courtyard no one saw him and while everyone
32:38crowded about the mysterious horse Prince Prama hid in a room after studying the horse the king gave out an order
32:46this is the most unusual animal I shall give it as a gift to Princess Serena here perhaps then she'll be my bride
32:54take the animal to the stable until I'm ready to give it to her Prince Prama could hear the king's orders
32:59and now he realized his chance of escaping was gone then he heard someone sobbing he discovered that he was in the room

33:26King Agnir no but perhaps I can help tell me how you came to this place Princess Serena then told Prince Prama the story of how she was captured by the powerful King Agnir
33:36Agnir she must marry him or be put to death I have an idea if you pretend to be ill the king will have to postpone any decision until you're well
33:47I'll hide out in the city and return when the time is right the princess agreed and she acted as if she were in a trance and soon the whole palace was alarmed word got to the king about her illness send for the best doctors in the kingdom
34:03each doctor who came tried to cure the young girl and each failed King Agnir sent out a call to physicians from other lands one day a strange doctor came to the palace
34:16I can cure the princess but I must attend her alone when the doctor was alone in the sick girl's room he spoke to her Princess Serena arise for it is time for us to leave
34:30Prince Prama it is you yes Serena but we must play the game for a while yet now we will see the King
34:37Sire you see she is almost cured already
34:41No some special unusual gift from you may complete the treatment
34:47How fortunate I have been saving a most unique horse to give to the princess
34:52So the enchanted horse was brought to the palace
34:55It's beautiful may I sit in the saddle
34:59Of course my dear it's yours
35:01Prince Prama helped Princess Serena up on the horse then he turned to the King
35:05You see sire she is cured now for my fee
35:10Of course good doctor what is your wish
35:13I wish the princess myself
35:16He jumped behind Serena
35:18Never she is mine
35:20Guards seize him
35:21But the guards gaped in wonder as the horse rose from the floor and soared away
35:28Out over the fields and mountains the prince and princess flew
35:33After many hours Prince Prama looked below and saw the palace of his father
35:38The enchanted horse had brought them home
35:41The King was delighted to see his lost son and welcomed the princess
35:46Prince Prama told his father that Serena had consented to be his bride
35:50The happy King released the owner of the horse
35:53And granted him a part of the kingdom in exchange for the animal
35:57Later when Prince Prama and Princess Serena were married
36:01The King gave them the mechanical animal as a wedding gift
36:04The young people rode away to have many more wonderful adventures
36:09With the enchanted horse
36:11Many years ago the brave armies of Greece and Troy were locked in a long bitter war
36:29The Trojans had captured a beautiful Greek princess named Helen
36:33And held her within their fortress city of Troy
36:40It did not seem possible that any man could break into the fortress city of Troy
36:45For days, weeks, months, the Greek soldiers from their camp on a beach near the city
36:50Assaulted the walls of Troy
36:52But they were always beaten back
36:54Then Ulysses, a great leader of the Greeks, said to his men
36:58I have a plan
36:59It is dangerous, but if it works
37:01The Trojans themselves will take us through the gates of their city
37:05At the order of Ulysses, the Greek soldiers set to work cutting down huge trees
37:14Making the wood into planks
37:16From the towers of Troy, the Trojan soldiers watched a big building grow taller and taller day by day
37:23Until it was six stories high
37:25And when the Greeks pulled away all the work ladders and scaffolds
37:29There stood a huge wooden horse
37:3280 feet tall
37:33All along the towering walls of Troy
37:57The soldiers and the people gathered to look out across the plain at the great wooden horse
38:02They wondered what it was for, what it meant
38:04The Trojans did not know that Ulysses and five Greek soldiers
38:08Lay hidden in a dark, secret passage inside the wooden horse
38:17All through the night, fire blazed brightly on the beach
38:20The Greeks were burning their tents just as if they were giving up their camp and sailing back home
38:25When morning came, not a Greek ship or soldier remained
38:28But where they had camped, stood the great Trojan horse
38:32The Trojan people poured out of the city to the beach
38:39So they could look more closely at the structure over the Greeks
38:42The Princess Cassandra, daughter of the King of the Trojans
38:45Warned her people of this Greek gift, but no one would listen
38:49The Trojans decided to pull the great horse inside the walls
38:53Into the city of Troy itself
38:56The Trojans tied thick ropes around the legs of the huge wooden horse
39:05Hundreds of men took a hand at the ropes
39:07Others lined up behind the horse
39:09Whooping and hollering, laughing at the Greeks
39:20Who had never been able to scale the towering walls of Troy
39:23The Trojans tugged and pushed and pulled the huge wooden horse
39:26Slowly from the beach, over the plains, and through the gates of Troy
39:31In the dark, secret passage of the wooden horse
39:43Ulysses and the five soldiers lay quietly waiting
39:47They could feel the horse being moved
39:50What the Trojans had decided to do
39:53Neither Ulysses nor his soldiers knew
39:56Suddenly, after a whole day and half a night
40:00The Trojan horse moved no more
40:03An hour passed
40:05Still the horse did not move
40:07Ulysses gave a signal
40:09The soldiers felt their way silently down the dark, secret passage
40:14Following Ulysses
40:16Cautiously, he opened the trap door
40:19Just as he hoped
40:21The Trojans had brought the horse inside the walls of Troy
40:25The city was sleeping now
40:28And the walls were unguarded
40:30Ulysses drew his sword
40:34He ordered the soldiers to follow
40:36And he dashed for the main gates of the city
40:38The Greek soldiers quickly tied the sleeping Trojan guards
40:44While Ulysses scampered up the sentry tower
40:47Holding a torch high above his head
40:49He signaled to the Greek army
40:51Which had turned around
40:52And sailed back to the beach during the night
40:54And even as Ulysses and his men opened the gates of Troy
41:04The Greek army was marching across the plain
41:07Caught completely by surprise
41:09The Trojans were easily defeated by the Greek soldiers
41:12Who found their beautiful princess
41:14And took her back safely to Greece
41:16And brave Ulysses was named the greatest of the Greek heroes
41:21Actinople
41:24The order of the Greek soldiers
41:27The Greek army was conquered
41:29The Greek soldiers
41:31They had a small town
41:32They had a small town
41:34They made one of the companions
41:35And the Japanese soldiers
41:36The Greek soldiers
41:37The Greek soldiers
41:38They had an enormous territory
41:39They had a small town
41:41They had a small town
41:43Hi there. My name is Jim Hawkins, and I have a story to tell. A story of adventure. It
41:59all began with a map. This map showed the location of an island and buried treasure.
42:07Men were setting off on a ship to find the treasure, and I was to go along as cabin boy.
42:12An old sailor with a wooden leg got together a crew. He was our cook, and gee, I liked
42:16him right off. But what a funny name. I'll never forget it. Long John Silver. We worked
42:28all one night getting the ship ready to sail. The whole crew worked and worked and worked,
42:32and just before dawn, we were ready to sail. We were on our way to Treasure Island. Once
42:42at sea, we all had a fine time. Long John Silver especially was lots of fun. Golly,
42:47he used to sit and tell me stories by the hour. Parrot sat on his shoulder and screamed.
42:51He's the mate! He's the mate!
42:57Now there was a barrel of apples set out for the men. And one night I went to get myself
43:01an apple, but because they were almost all gone, I had to climb right into the barrel
43:05to get one, right down to the bottom. Then a strange thing happened. Just as I was about
43:12to climb out, I heard voices.
43:14Keep your eye peeled for that.
43:15It was Long John Silver and some of the crew.
43:18Now, miladies, you're a smart lot. No need for us to return empty-handed. We'll come back
43:24with all the treasure for ourselves. Gosh, these men were pirates. But I knew their
43:29secret. If only they didn't discover me. See you, mateys. Have a nap. But just as long
43:35John was reaching into the barrel.
43:36Hello! That's it, lads. Treasure Island!
43:43The whole crew went ashore. Loyal crewmen in one group, pirates in another, all looking
43:56for the treasure. Pretty soon, I was all alone in the jungle, and all of a sudden, from behind
44:02a tree jumped, the strangest man you ever did see. He was laughing and laughing and laughing.
44:08Then all it was, you stopped. Who are you? My name is Jim Hawkins, sir. Well, I'm old
44:15Ben Gunn, and you're a pirate, aren't you? Oh, no, sir, no. Well, I know that pirates
44:20are here looking for my treasure, but they won't find it. I've lived in this island for
44:25three years hiding that treasure. They won't find it, no. No, they won't.
44:32He's the mate! He's the mate! Wrong John Silver!
44:38Yes, me aunties, it's Long John and me crew. And now, Ben Gunn, take us to that treasure!
44:47Long John and his pirates had surrounded us. Ben would just have to take them to the treasure
44:51now. Our only chance was to have the loyal crew find us before we reached it. Ben Gunn
44:57took us to the far side of the island and pointed to a cave.
45:00I'm afraid you've done this in Long John. Rachel, and the treasure's mine! Long John grabbed
45:08a hook and started to pry open one of the chests when... What's that?
45:12Our loyal crew was fighting the pirates. Long John and his men were captured. The treasure
45:18was safe! Our men tied up Long John and his pirates and then loaded the treasure aboard
45:24our ship. Diamonds and pearls and silver and gold and every treasure you could think of, so
45:29much that we just couldn't carry it all. So today, if you should happen across an island
45:36and find a cave, you, too, might find buried treasure, because that's Treasure Island.
45:50Oh, here's the bait, here's the bait!
