00:00Ready for companion was reacting and behind the scenes here I come.
00:05No more.
00:21To do a fight scene properly, you need to really train for it and be prepared for it.
00:28And for this training, I trained with the guys for two and a half months.
00:32So when we did the very first fight sequence, my whole body was ready for it.
00:37Mentally and physically, I was ready for it.
00:40And it was really thrilling to go to action and do it after we could train for two and a half months
00:47to finally get to do it in front of the camera and see that it turns out well.
00:53That's the satisfaction.
00:55I think you could boil it down to the story of two people who for different reasons really wanted to choose each other.
01:01Things got in the way. I also think that this film is about, you know, the reality of the opposites address.
01:07You know, you're watching two people who don't necessarily make sense together.
01:13And yet they make perfect sense.
01:14All right.
01:15Yeah.
01:16Yeah.
01:17Yeah.
01:18Yeah.
01:19Yeah.
01:20Yeah.
01:21Yeah.
01:22Yeah.
01:23Yeah.
01:24Yeah.
01:25So happy.
01:26Gonna be happier.
01:27I also think that this film is about, you know, the reality that opposites attract, you know?
01:32You're watching two people who don't necessarily make sense together, and yet they make perfect sense.
01:39Alright.
01:40Yeah!
01:41Let's go!
01:43So happy!
01:44Couldn't be happier!
01:57I come from an action release, so I'm trying to keep it, you know, in the same 87 North way of doing action release.
02:18It's like fast and fun and very dynamic.
02:24I just want to make sure I can see that.
02:27Oh!
02:28Oh, that's good!
02:29I mean, that's good for work.
02:30What do you think?
02:31I just want to make sure I can see that.
02:33Yeah.
02:34Okay?
02:35It's a tough day at work.
02:39I'm Ariana DeVos.
02:41I love her.
02:42I love Ariana.
02:43I met her during the hybrid work season.
02:47For our memory and everything we were all at once.
02:50And she was very supportive and she was rooting for me.
02:54She was very kind and very friendly.
02:56And I will never forget, on the night of the Oscar, when she came out, and she was holding the best supporting actor.
03:04I'm going, uh-uh.
03:06And she opened it and announced the Oscar ghost.
03:09And she said my name with such an emotion.
03:12I loved her.
03:13I loved her from that moment on, and I would love her the rest of my life.
03:17So, and-and when-when her name was first mentioned, uh, uh, for the role of Rose, I told Guy, our producer, I said,
03:25Can you please make that happen?
03:27Please do whatever you need to, uh, for her to say yes.
03:31I lost everything in one day!
03:34I'm going to be doing that.
03:36Now I'm trying something to be alright.
03:39Shhh!
03:40Shhh!
03:41Shhh!
03:42Shhh!
03:43Shhh!
03:44Shhh!
03:45Shhh!
03:46Shhh!
03:47Shhh!
03:48Shhh!
03:49Part of the reason I wanted to work on this movie was because they were like,
03:52Oh, it's-it's-it's a star vehicle for a keyboard card.
03:55And I was like, where are you telling me?
03:57Um, I had the purpose of presenting him that it was an Oscar, and then I think he won.
04:02And I watched him through that, uh, campaign season.
04:06Cause it is a campaign, let's just be real.
04:08That he walked through it with such joy and such care.
04:11He was so supportive to the people in the audience.
04:14It was really beautiful to watch.
04:16He told me a lot about the person that he is.
04:19So getting the opportunity to work with him on his head, he could not be a more generous,
04:25protecting, loving scene-marker.
04:28But it wasn't a stretch to, you know, fall in love with King Oscar.
04:33Not at all.
04:34I'm like, oof, Mr. Kwan!
04:36He's charming!
04:38Oh, come on, he's got more charm in his little fan than most people have in their whole body.
04:43How many people have in my life?
04:44How many people have in his career?
04:45How many people have in their lives?
04:46Where they can find him, and to do that?
04:47Yeah!
04:48Yeah!
04:49Big boy!
04:50I'll mark him.
04:51I'll mark him.
04:52Okay.
04:53I'll mark him.
04:54That's all right.
04:55That's all right.
04:56I'm gonna give you a good at it.
04:58And I wouldn't even...
05:00I don't think people understand, too.
05:01and we basically rewrote it for him, so a lot of the personality traits and everything, it's key.
05:10And I don't think people understand too, he came out doing stunts in Hong Kong and things like that,
05:16so when they see him do action, I think he'd be surprised.
05:19I mean, he did summon everything everyone wants, but that's just kind of the tip of the iceberg,
05:24so I think people would be really surprised how physical he is.
05:31One, two, three, four.
05:42You know, the last time Sean and I shared any meaningful scenes together was four years ago on the goods,
05:53and when, when I was, you know, I was told that, you know, they, you know, how producers would have to shine for the role of Cliff,
06:04immediately I thought he was just the perfect actor to play Cliff Cliff.
06:10Congratulations.
06:12Bar in order.
06:13Woo!
06:14I wanted to tell you myself, because I know you've been holding your butt.
06:21I think I was initially drawn to the character, because I've yet to play anyone like her, so a little bit unhinged.
06:39It's giving, like, a side order of Harley Quinn, you know, in conjunction with all of the badass women that I have loved to see on camera.
06:50You know, it's all of those different things.
06:52You can be badass at the same time, and I subscribe to that, to that gospel, to be honest.
07:01I love that she literally kind of feels like the backbone to our story.
07:07That you don't have a film if Rose does not choose to put her crazy Valentine's Day, you know, plan into action.
07:18Bar in case.
07:21I'm sorry.
07:22You're a wise actor.
07:36There's fire, but there's vulnerability.
07:40There's power.
07:41She has all these things kind of moving up into one.
07:44And it's really hard to say, like, because it's really hard to say the way one trait it is.
07:51And I think it's just a mixture of things.
07:53And I'm very, like, of my vibe.
07:56You know, I really feel it.
07:58And she just, she just, she just, she just is that character.
08:04I don't even know how to say it.
08:09Wait a minute.
08:10Wait a minute.
08:11Wait a minute, uh.
08:20I love Jojo. He is a very collaborative filmmaker. He listens and he's very, you know, he loves the little stuff. He's very good at just doing the little stuff that it's there and it just enriches the characters a lot.
08:44He's very open to ideas and he also has a lot of great ideas. This is his first time as a director but, you know, it's something that he's been preparing for a long time. In terms of action, it's like, it's so easy.
09:02Three, two, one, action!
09:14One, action!
09:16Okay.
09:21Long heads.
09:46All right, that was the end of Interested Companion Behind the Scenes. Thank you, Sophie Dasher and Jacqueline. Thanks for watching. I'll see you in the next video. Goodbye.
