00:05The annual Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2025 finds 67 percent of the respondents
00:10were concerned about disinformation online, up from 63 percent in 2024, and is above the
00:15global average of 58 percent and the Asia-Pacific regional average of 60 percent.
00:21Released Tuesday, June 17, the report polled 97,055 respondents across 48 markets in six
00:27continents online from mid-January to late February.
00:31Researchers polled 2014 adult Filipinos.
00:34Facebook was seen by respondents as the most common vector for disinformation at 68 percent
00:39and is above the 49 percent global average.
00:42Concerns for disinformation were also notable on other social media platforms.
00:46The report also says, overall trust in the news among Filipinos held steady at 38 percent,
00:51nearly identical to the 40 percent global average.
00:55In terms of news avoidance, the Philippines ranked among the top 10, with 48 percent avoiding
00:59news.
