00:41ang pagsilang ng isang malaya at nagsasariling bansang Pilipinas,
00:51matapos ang mahigit tatlong daang taon ng pananakot.
00:58But freedom was never a gift.
01:03It was paid for and earned through courage.
01:09It was paid with Filipino grit and bravery.
01:19When the Treaty of Paris transferred our homeland
01:23from one colonial master to another
01:28without the consent of the Filipino people,
01:33our forebears refused to be bought and sold by property.
01:39Kinili nila ang paglaban kaysa pagsukop,
01:47ang dangal kaysa pagpapasakot.
01:51This is our inheritance.
01:56Lumaban tayo sa bawat kwersang nagtatangkang magbikta ng ating takalaran.
02:07Thousands gave their lives so that one flag and one flag alone
02:15would fly over this republic.
02:20That is our identity.
02:23That is our duty.
02:28We fought for our sovereignty against foreign invaders.
02:35But sovereignty is not lost only to those who come from foreign shores.
02:47Nawawala rin ito sa tuwing ang servisyo publiko ay nagiging privado yung negosyo.
02:57Kung ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno ay malasindikato sa pagnanakaw ng pera ng bayan.
03:07Every peso stolen from the people's treasury steals a child's freedom from hunger.
03:20It steals a student's freedom from illiteracy or substandard education.
03:29It steals a patient's freedom to obtain quality health care.
03:37It steals a worker's freedom to earn a decent living.
03:46Every ghost project is a classroom never built.
03:53Every corrupt contract is a road that was never built for farmers to bring their produce to the market.
04:03Ang corruption ay hindi lamang pagnanakaw ng pera.
04:12It steals opportunity.
04:15It steals dignity.
04:17And it steals hope.
04:22And ultimately, it steals freedom itself.
04:32Rizal, Bonifacio, Luna, and thousands of other Filipino heroes fought
04:42so that every Filipino could live with justice, dignity, opportunity, and hope.
04:56Mga kababayan, freedom is never permanent unless it is defended.
05:10Souverainty survives only when a people refuse to surrender it.
05:19Hope survives when citizens refuse to accept bad governance as their destiny.
05:33Hope survives when citizens act together, have their voices heard, demand what our heroes fought so gallantly for.
05:47For the rights of every Filipino to a dignified human life.
05:59Hope survives when our people believe they have a better future.
06:09On this Independence Day, let us resolutely stand up for truth, for accountability, for freedom, and for sovereignty.
06:28Piliin natin ulit ang paglaban kaysa pagsuko, ang dangay kaysa sa pagpapasakok.
06:40Piliin natin ang katotohanan.
06:43Piliin natin ang pananagutan.
06:47At higit sa lahat, piliin natin ang pag-asa.

07:16Ang Independence Day, mauang atong atong aglaw sa paglaom na ang kagawasan o soberanya.
07:28Maugyod ang atong tinuod o malungtarong tabiliin.
07:33Mga kababayan, ang lahat ng ginagawa natin ay para sa Diyos, sa bayan at bawat pamilyang Pilipino.
