00:00we're gonna go to audience questions in a minute I am I'm gonna ask my last
00:06question before we go to the audience just to reaffirm if you have a question
00:10and let's really focus on a question and it should be brief to get more people in
00:16and you should identify yourself so my last question will be I can't I don't
00:22think we can leave this discussion without just asking you broadly about
00:27what happened last night very eventful day on many scores but the fact that we
00:33have Israel striking around and you know in escalatory I think would be an
00:41understatement so what are your thoughts on that yeah deeply concerned I think we
00:49know anything in the Middle East and look I know there's a lot of folks here and
00:53across the country the situation in Gaza is is intolerable and it became a
00:58central focus in the campaign and I would say rightfully so it human rights
01:02issues how we're going to how we're going to you know try and attempt to get a
01:07two-state solution where we can allow folks to live peacefully and coexist and
01:11have their own self-control or the self-determination the issue now in the
01:16spreading of this and I have to be candid with you I was there during the debates
01:19and I voted for the Iran nuclear deal I think it was one of the the most well
01:24and and I said in there just to be clear with the Russian ambassador with the
01:29French ambassador you know with our negotiators with everybody who was there
01:33to bring about the capacity to stop Iran's nuclear capacity but in a way that
01:39was not so punitive that we would hamper some of their economic growth I truly
01:45worry now I'm you know I'm sure there's great strategic thinkers in the Trump
01:50administration that have now have now said how is this going to you know a tweet
01:57from the president today said I told them I told them they should have done
02:00something and now here we are yeah here we are with a with the Middle East back on
02:05fire in a way that is now expanded with I don't I ran has to retaliate in their mind
02:13I'm sure and now who is the voice in the world that can negotiate some type of
02:19agreement in this who hold the moral authority who holds the ability to do
02:24that because we are not seen as a neutral actor and we maybe never were I don't
02:28want to tell anybody that I think there's a lot of people say you always
02:31leaned one way in this but I think there was at least an attempt to be somewhat of
02:36the arbitrator in this we saw President Carter do it with with Begin and Sadat we've
02:40had certain wins along the way that were were actually mutually beneficial both
02:44ways now I ask who that is and I mean consistently over and over again we're
02:51gonna have to face the reality it might be the Chinese and and that goes against
02:56everything they say they're trying to do in terms of the balance of power so I I
03:01would just have to say my heart goes out for this Ukraine continues to go on
03:04Gaza continues to be a humanitarian disaster and now it's expanded even further
03:09and well I definitely rest easy knowing Pete Hegseth is the secretary of defense
03:14so I shouldn't share that you know he's a Minnesotan we just we can't we can't pick
03:22the middle Prince he takes up we get you know
