Anwar: Oil industry stable amid Middle East unrest

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the ongoing Middle East conflicts and rising global crude oil prices are not expected to have any immediate adverse impact on Malaysia’s economy or government finances.  Speaking to reporters after launching Energy Asia 2025 on Monday (June 16), Anwar said the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and major oil producers—including PETRONAS, Total, ENI, and Aramco—are closely monitoring the situation.  Anwar also urged the United States, the European Union, and other nations to pressure Israel to halt its attacks on Iran and prevent further retaliation, stressing that both countries must end hostilities to restore peace.
