JDA chief Dr Dhawal confirms nine medical students’ death in tragic Air India plane crash

Description: Ahmedabad (Gujarat) June 14, 2025 (ANI): Dr. Dhawal Gati, President of the Junior Doctor Association at BJ Medical College, shared the resulted in the tragic loss of four medical students and a total of nine deaths, including resident doctors and their relatives. He confirmed that 22 students were admitted, of which 11 have been discharged, and the remaining are stable and under treatment. He also stated that 21 bodies have been recovered so far, and DNA sampling is currently underway at Kasoti Bhawan, BJ Medical College. This process will take around 48 to 72 hours, and only after complete DNA matching and police clearance will the bodies be handed over to the families. He acknowledged the grief and anger of some families due to the wait but emphasized that the doctors and forensic teams are working day and night to ensure proper identification and avoid any mistakes. He reassured that no one is reported missing beyond the known passengers and victims, and every effort is being made to complete the identification process respectfully and efficiently.Junior Doctor Association President BJ Medical College Dr Dhawal Gati said “I would like to tell you about the plane crash which occurred on the 12th of June in the Civil Hospital that four medical students have died tragically. There is an undergoing treatment, it is now stable. Those who were medical students who were still twenty-one admitted, out of which eleven have been discharged.
