00:00I showed the video of Stitch doing the TikTok dance
00:02which I would have loved to have put in the movie
00:04because it made us all laugh so much
00:16Hi Seth, I met you, what up?
00:18How are you guys?
00:19How are you?
00:20Hello
00:21Hello
00:22So I come for Lilo and Stitch
00:23but also a gift from Malaysia to you
00:26this is the famous Boba Boy character
00:29animation character in Malaysia
00:31also known in Indonesia
00:32they flew all the way from Malaysia
00:34Oh my goodness!
00:35That's awesome!
00:36I wish for a friend
00:40like a best friend
00:46What the hell?
00:48because there are lots of work that is done behind the scenes
00:50that we only see the final output
00:52and if you would let us into your life
00:55into making this whole Lilo and Stitch
00:57this was a movie that I personally worked on for two and a half years
01:01it's not me, it's a whole team
01:03you know, there's many, many people
01:05I work with a rather large team of visual effects artists
01:08and we had animation teams in Sydney
01:10and Vancouver and San Francisco
01:11it's a collaborative process
01:12so it's a lot of really talented artists
01:14all contributing to one thing
01:16to make Stitch happen
01:18it's a challenge because there's such a beloved initial movie and character out there
01:25that is really important to a lot of people
01:27you have a responsibility to get right
01:29when I was able to work on this
01:31it was really special for me
01:32and so I always had that same care and attention
01:34when we were planning and putting him in there
01:36it's like this has got to be right
01:37we took our time
01:38you know, we were here
01:39there's a lot of versions of Stitch
01:41make sure that we all felt like
01:43it was a character that could live in our world
01:46but still carry the same kind of charm from the original
01:49you used the puppeteer side
01:50but I feel like you must have been in very, very interesting positions on that
01:56sometimes very odd perhaps
01:58yeah, no, it was definitely a lot of crazy positions
02:01a lot of crazy things
02:02we were in all the elements
02:04we were in the jungle
02:05we were in the water
02:06we were...
02:07now fire
02:08maybe a little bit of fire here
02:09I don't know
02:10but there was all kinds of different situations
02:12that needed to happen
02:13but it was definitely a fun adventure
02:16he was a trooper we put in
02:17yeah
02:18except you're going underwater today
02:19you're going in the back of that truck
02:20just stay there all day in the hot sun
02:25of course you're working with Maya a lot right
02:27so like any special encounters that you can remember
02:30she created this friendship with him
02:32and she was really great at keeping that character
02:35and you know
02:36she was amazing
02:37but he's just there
02:38and she can just bring herself to life
02:40and lighten up and bring him to life
02:43just by being next to him
02:44as far as my performance
02:46it wasn't really the performance that they used
02:48they created all that
02:50and really how Stitches is
02:52and you know
02:53his personality and his movements
02:54and things like that
02:55but it definitely helps Maya
02:56well that's what I was going to say
02:57don't sell yourself short
02:58because Maya's performance worked
03:00because of what you did
03:01and because Maya's performance worked
03:03we were able to work with that
03:04and make Stitches performance
03:05so it's such a collaboration
03:06that if it was a green ball and a stick
03:09we would not get that performance out
03:10so that was all thanks to Seth and Sarah
03:14helping her with that
03:15and then we were able to bounce from that
03:17and bring Stitch to life
03:18I'm going to speak as an audience member
03:20watching Seth perform this
03:21and it's just this sad moment
03:24I'm not even sure if it's in the movie anymore
03:26but he walks back to the cage
03:29and he gets in the cage
03:30and he closes the door
03:31and it's like this really sad moment
03:32and Seth performed all of it
03:33and we're all just quietly watching him
03:36Stitch was alive to everybody in that room
03:38thanks to Seth
03:39and it was a beautiful moment to watch
03:40and it shows the power of like
03:42a really well puppeted character
03:44that you just lose yourself in it very quickly
03:46and was there any scene
03:48that pushed you and your team to the limit?
03:50The underwater scenes are very difficult
03:53I can imagine
03:54the combination of
03:55to have stunt double shots
03:56where you do face replacements
03:59with dry for wet shots
04:01you need to shoot those on a stage
04:02but you have to make them look underwater
04:04and they need to match the
04:06stunt underwater footage
04:08there's no real like leeway
04:10to kind of almost get there
04:12like they have to look right
04:13and what would you say to the audience
04:15that like do not see all these things
04:17that went behind behind screens?
04:19what I hope is that at the end of the day
04:21they think about Lilo and Stitch
04:23it's a movie where they go through this
04:26experience together
04:27if they come out thinking about both of them
04:29and both of their journeys
04:31then they understand Stitch
04:32as living in her world
04:33and they've forgotten about the visual effects
04:36I hope everybody really enjoys
04:37the character that we brought to screen
04:39there was a very large amount of artists
04:41who worked very hard, very long hours
04:43to make sure that we put out a Stitch
04:45that everybody loved
04:46so I want them to know
04:47that there was a large caring team of artists
04:49that put this out
04:50ohana means family
04:51family means nobody gets left behind
04:53more forgotten
04:54more forgotten
04:59move
05:00I'm gonna give you to the count of three, Stitch
05:04one
05:05two
05:07hmm
05:08it is
05:24a
05:26two
