00:00The Kuala Lumpur High Court on Thursday acquitted former research assistant Muhammad Yusof Rother
00:06of two charges involving cannabis distribution and possession of two imitation firearms.
00:12At the end of the prosecution's case, Justice Muhammad Jamil Hassan said
00:16the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the 32-year-old accused.
00:22He said the prosecution failed to prove that the accused had knowledge of the drugs and firearms.
00:30The accused's defence said the court had ruled that the prosecution did not have a strong case against the accused
00:36as there were questions that remained unanswered.
01:00Last September, the accused was charged with trafficking 305 grams of cannabis which was found in his vehicle
01:08parked outside a surau on September 6th.
01:12A month later, he was slapped with another charge of possessing imitation pistols
01:16found outside a condominium on the same day.
