00:01Hello, fellow mercenaries.
00:02Welcome to my first impression with Vindictus, Defying Fate.
00:06I managed to play around 10 hours and see 99% of the aspects that are in the game.
00:11This alpha beta content was limited to 4 playable characters,
00:15a story up to chapter 2, and 2 co-op monsters to hunt with up to 4 players,
00:20and it showed cosmetics coming to later game.
00:23If you disagree with the video, well, in that case, you are right and I am wrong.
00:28You may check reply for any missed or incorrect information pinned.
00:33Well, if you are a fan of Vindictus Season 2 and enjoyed it a lot, congratulations.
00:39The game is in an amazing state with combat and visuals.
00:42This game can become an arc to those who remember the good old days in Vindictus.
00:47I myself was a big fan of old Vindy, and when I started the game,
00:51it brought back my good old memories with seeing all these nostalgic remakes of NPCs.
00:56They all got big improvement with new modeling and illustration.
01:00Also, I find that characteristics are better than original games.
01:04Kara became a charming sword maiden with a better appearance.
01:08And Kirstie.
01:09Hmm.
01:10The difference was like seeing a friend after a holiday,
01:13done facelifting with some heavy plastic surgery,
01:16but it's pretty, right?
01:17Then it's all good.
01:19Also, I could see big improvement with the pain in the ass level.
01:22I felt Gwyn was more irritating and felt like punching her more than in the original game.
01:27The male characters also got improvement with blah blah blah.
01:30Yeah.
01:31Let's skip this.
01:33When I start controlling the character after the cutscene.
01:36Wow.
01:37I felt like returning to my homeland.
01:39It established well with Colhan design,
01:41making it a similar vibe and atmosphere to the original game with a significant upgrade.
01:46Look at this beautiful village.
01:48I was playing on 2K max settings, and I can say that the visuals are top tier.
01:53But I also felt that this beautiful scenery was made by my poor GPU slavery.
01:57You can feel a heavy FPS drop in Colhan with lots of trees and leaves.
02:02It seems like it needs more polish with optimization, but it's beta, right?
02:06Let's go to the next topic.
02:13Overall visuals are amazing with texture, including character skins, monsters, and environments.
02:19When you first come out from the inn, you will see this beautiful village filled with charming NPCs and structures.
02:25Very similar to Colhan, but much bigger and visually beautiful.
02:29The texture of character skin and equipment material looked very realistic.
02:34When you look at the stones and grass, harmonized with the environment, whoever designed this should get some extra wage.
02:41Other than Colhan, there are two more maps which are ruins and cold regions with caves.
02:46They both displayed cores so well that you actually feel like exploring ruins and cold regions.
02:52The first thing I do to check in-game graphics is test physics, like stepping on this pond to see if it shakes.
02:59It did shake and was very impressive.
03:01However, in the snow region, no footprints were left behind.
03:05Talking about physics, we can't take out the jiggles with characters, right?
03:09It was absolutely wonderful.
03:11Exactly what I want from next in-game.
03:14Look at this natural movement.
03:16Hmm.
03:18Okay, next topic.
03:25Action was exactly what I wanted and missed from Old Vindictus.
03:30Not too fast, but stylish and heavy.
03:32Old-day Vindictus combat was between Monster Hunter and Dark Souls.
03:36Well, it resurrected in Defying Fate.
03:39The bosses' patterns are not too easy.
03:41However, you can learn from multiple trials and eventually kill it.
03:45It gives tension and thrill all the way till you kill the bosses with satisfying achievement.
03:50I played Delia, the Greatsword Yielder, for 10 hours.
03:54I totally enjoyed fighting all bosses with her stylish heavy swing and deflecting enemy attacks with perfect guard.
04:01They added yellow, dodgeable, blue, deflectable, and red light, meaning not dodgeable nor blockable attacks, to give some spice to the combat.
04:13Blue attack can be deflected with perfect guard, which was very fun for me.
04:18The dodge timings are so generous that you can dodge almost all attacks easily if you know the pattern.
04:24The commands are pretty much the same as the original game, using a mix of weak and strong attacks to derive combos.
04:31There were four active skills you can use anytime, as long as the cooldowns are clean.
04:36These skills can be invested in a skill tree, each with reduced cooldown and damage increases.
04:42The last two skills were related to counter-attack and special attack, which all characters have.
04:48You can use counter after perfect guard, which was quite generous with timing as well,
04:53and special attack you can use after certain combos.
04:57Also, there are shared skills that are related to potion quantity and healing amount, like in Dark Souls,
05:03passives related to defense and dodging,
05:06and lastly, increasing stagger damage and character's attack.
05:10These skill trees can only be opened in campsites similar to bonfire in Dark Souls.
05:16The campsite can be easily unlocked just by interacting with a blue aura in the ground.
05:21Another big change was that we no longer accept quests from the board and ride the boat to load a quest map.
05:27The entire map is already loaded, and we just need to teleport to the starting point
05:31and kill some mini-bosses to reach the final boss in that map.
05:35Progression was very linear, and you can loot treasure chests and items that give skill points, potions, and die ampoules along the way.
05:43Not sure the die ampoules is going to drop in the actual game though.
05:47The gear progression was summing up the weapon's enhancement level that you crafted and enhanced,
05:53regardless of which weapon you use.
05:55For example, Sword A and Sword B both can be upgraded up to three times,
06:00so if I enhance max with both weapons, it will sum up and apply level 6 enhancement to both Sword A and B.
06:07So you just need to craft and enhance them all, then pick a weapon with your heart.
06:12Sadly, there were no armors or accessories to use in beta.
06:16This might be added in future for diverse builds.
06:19Overall, combat experience was like playing Dark Souls with Vindictus characters.
06:24There are a limited number of potions you can refill at the campsite and restock by resting.
06:30Lots of campsites are available for you to unlock while exploring the map.
06:34After killing the last boss in that map, it will unlock Trial Recall to fight mini-bosses and last bosses in the same spot.
06:42This will reward you with random material drops to upgrade your skills or enhance weapons.
06:47You can kill bosses every five-minute cooldown,
06:50but I believe Nexen will extend this to a couple of hours to a day in the actual game.
06:55I can say the fighting with bosses was truly thrilling and hand-sweating.
07:00The most epic and satisfying action game I played in 2025.
07:04I will leave a record of jiggling party with Dahlia's breasts.
07:09My pretty, sexy, hot Dahlia fighting the last boss in beta at the end of the video.
07:14There are co-op contents with raiding bosses unlocked after Chapter 1.
07:18However, I am not sure if we can play the story quests with friends at this point.
07:23Now to the cosmetics and other stuff.
07:30With the character customization, you can pick a color for the skin, resize body parts, and set the wet density of the skin.
07:38It's quite sad that there are no bars to resize face components.
07:43However, you can still make unique appearances with hair, makeup, and other decorations.
07:48There are gestures to take a screenshot or play around with others in Kolhen, which is going to be a hub to meet other players, I assume.
07:55Not sure how they're going to make us play with others other than matchmaking.
08:00Maybe something like the hub in Monster Hunter with a limit of 32 or 64 players.
08:05Also added photo mode to take a picture from a different angle.
08:09Hmm.
08:10When you visit Clodagh, right front of the inn, you can customize your character's outfits and decorations.
08:19She also sells skins in another tab.
08:21Man, looking at all these skins, I think my wallet is going to be dusty after buying them all.
08:26Look at this evil temptation!
08:30This is heresy!
08:31I think it's rightful self-defense to buy and hide it all in my inventory.
08:35Sure, my mom will understand this.
08:37Once you buy outfits, they can be mixed with other parts, like a head with a shiny helmet and a body with some dress.
08:44Other than skins, you can find hairs, makeup, scars, eye type, and gestures in here as well.
08:51They give a wide choice with dyeing outfits, like dyeing multiple parts of the head or chest.
08:58I knew Nexen was always talented with making female skins and characters, from MapleStory to The First Descendant.
09:05They didn't let us down in here as well.
09:08Very, very good.
09:09Just hoping it would be cheap and shareable between my characters to save money.
09:14There is a battle pass called Kalbrom Supply, which gives cosmetics and other in-game material.
09:20I feel like pricing with skins and battle pass going to be similar to The First Descendant, which is not too expensive unless you want to collect all the skins like me.
09:35At last, conclusion.
09:37The game has a high potential of succeeding just by action itself.
09:41If you are a fan of action games, I'm sure you will love this.
09:45The visuals are wonderful, and I believe the story plot is also going to be amazing.
09:50Since the original Vindictus was my first game that I didn't skip the story and read all the way to the end, it's one of my favorite game stories in my life.
09:58I just hope they work more on optimizing the game before release, and don't do any Nexen stuff, such as greed with pay-to-win systems or selling items that affect the gameplay heavily.
10:11I will be looking forward to seeing more stories and content added in the game.
10:15I will likely put my eyes on the next beta too.
10:18If you are interested in the game, try downloading the demo, which lasts until June 16th, and see it for yourself.
10:25I will leave the record of the last boss fight to show you general gameplay and actions.
10:30Well then?
10:31I will see you in the next video with a first impression of the Duet Night Abyss beta.
11:00I will hit the group.
11:23fountain it.
11:28Let's go.
11:58Let's go.
12:28Let's go.
12:58Let's go.
13:28Let's go.
13:58Let's go.
