During a press briefing on Wednesday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) was asked about House Democrats' stance on the recessions bill.

00:22I think there's going to be strong Democratic opposition here in the House.
00:25We're going to work hard to kill the legislation here in the House of Representatives.
00:31This rescissions bill, which is doing Elon Musk's bidding in terms of devastating cuts to our
00:37ability as a country to protect our national security interests all across the world, and
00:44then at the same time, assaulting Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Elmo, and all of the people connected
00:51to Sesame Street.
00:52That's extraordinary.
00:53I mean, who are these people?
00:57Cruelty is the point.
00:59And so we're going to make the strongest possible case over the next two days here in the House,
01:06and then I defer to Leader Schumer in terms of what might happen in the Senate.
01:09Well, in the Senate, as you know, they can pass a rescission with 51 votes.
