00:00Barbara says the gentleman from California seek recognition.
00:06Without objection, the gentleman is recognized for one minute.
00:10Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
00:11Well, we're seeing it again in another large city, this time Los Angeles,
00:15where what the media sometimes terms the mostly peaceful protest as burning part of the town down.
00:23Indeed, it's lawless chaos.
00:25Streets are blocked.
00:27Law enforcement is under attack.
00:29Foreign flags are being waved while American flags burn.
00:32Businesses and vehicles are going up in flames.
00:34It looks less like a demonstration, more like a foreign invasion.
00:38California officials, though, have stood by and done virtually nothing.
00:42The Los Angeles police chief says that his department actually is overwhelmed.
00:47Now other officials in California are outraged that the National Guard was deployed
00:52to clean up the mess that they've refused to address.
00:55Governor Gavin Newsom told people to resist ICE.
00:58Then act surprised when things got worse.
01:00You can see this little gem right here written on the side of the car.
01:03We had to clean it up a bit for public viewing.
01:07These riots should be stopped immediately.
01:10Those doing it should be arrested.
01:11And those that are aiding and abetting it, elected officials,
01:14need to be dealt with very sternly in this process.
01:17I fully support our National Guard, Department of Homeland Security,
01:21and law enforcement on the ground.
01:22They're doing the job that Governor Newsom and Los Angeles City officials simply won't do.
01:27Law and order does matter.
01:28I yield back.
01:30The gentleman yields back.
01:32For what purpose does the gentleman from Indiana seek recognition?
01:34Mr. Speaker, I ask you now.
