00:05unwarranted and unauthorized deployment of National Guard to Los Angeles.

00:14nuclear program, including far-right ministers Itamar Ben-Vir and Bezalel Smatrich.
00:21NATO Chief Mark Rutte has called for a 400% increase in air and missile defense in response
00:26to mounting global threats.
00:31Ukraine and Russia have begun a new prisoner exchange after a second round of direct talks
00:37in Istanbul.
00:42The state of California has filed a lawsuit against U.S. President Donald Trump over what
00:46it called an illegal deployment of U.S. National Guard.
00:51California officials, including Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom filed the legal proceedings on
00:55Monday in an effort to force the Trump administration to reverse action.
00:59Earlier, Trump authorized the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members to help address
01:04the ongoing anti-Trump immigration policy protests in Los Angeles.
01:09Typically, U.S. presidents only deploy National Guards at the request of a state governor.
01:14But Trump invoked a special clause that bypasses Newsom, who did not request nor approve of this
01:20deployment.
01:23We have an incompetent governor.
01:25I talked about governors, but I didn't talk about, he's an incompetent governor.
01:28Look at the job he's doing in California.
01:30He's destroying one of our great states.
01:33If I didn't get involved, if we didn't bring the Guard in, and we would bring more in if
01:37we needed it, because we have to make sure there's going to be law and order.
01:41You had a disaster happening, and they now admit it was a disaster.
01:47Additionally, Trump also deployed 700 Marines to help the National Guard stabilize the situation.
01:54Newsom has displayed staunch criticism of Trump, saying his actions amount to a takeover and violation
02:00of state sovereignty, arguing that it sets a dangerous precedent.
02:04Trump had also earlier on Monday suggested that his government should arrest Newsom for resisting
02:09federal efforts.
02:11Newsom responded to the comment, saying it was a sad day for the country,
02:14and warned of Trump's growing authoritarianism.
02:21Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to hold a security meeting on Iran.
02:26It comes after his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on the matter, which Israeli media
02:31reported to have lasted around 40 minutes.
02:35Trump was asked about the call with the Israeli premier but did not offer much detail on the
02:39matters discussed, instead insisting that it went very well and smooth.
02:43The meeting will include Defense Minister Israel Katz, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer,
02:49and Shah's party chairman Arya Deri.
02:51Also taking part in the meeting are far-right ministers Itamar Bengvir and Bezal al-Smatraj,
02:56who run the national security and finance ministries.
03:00Bengvir and Smatraj are typically not included in such high-level conferences.
03:04The meeting comes as Tehran is expected to respond to a U.S. proposal over its nuclear program.
03:10Washington has reportedly proposed to allow Iran to continue enriching uranium within their nation at
03:15low levels and for a limited time period.
03:18Tehran is expected to reject this proposal, with rumors circulating that Iranian officials
03:23will not accept a deal which dictates permissions on their own sovereign soil.
03:32A convoy of buses and private cars departed from Tunisia's capital on Monday headed to Gaza.
03:38The initiative aims to shed light on Israel's blockade on humanitarian aid to the enclave,
03:43as Israeli authorities stopped a high-profile flotilla carrying aid from landing there.
03:48The overland effort, organized independently but moved up to coincide with the flotilla,
03:52is made up of activists, lawyers and medical professionals from North Africa.
03:57The convoy is set to traverse Tunisia, Libya and Egypt before reaching Gaza through the border
04:02crossing in Rafah. The Rafah border crossing has remained largely closed since the Israeli military
04:07took control of the Gaza side in May of last year. Civil society groups behind the initiative say
04:13their aim is to demand the immediate lifting of the unjust siege on the territory. They stress that
04:18Arab governments aren't doing enough to end the 20-month long war between Israel and Hamas.
04:24After an almost three-month blockade of Gaza aimed at pressuring Hamas,
04:28Israel started allowing in some basic and limited amounts of aid last month.
04:37NATO Chief Mark Rutte has called for a quantum leap in defense spending in response to mounting global
04:42threats, particularly from Russia. Speaking at Chatham House after meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer,
04:49he said that a 400 percent increase in air and missile defense is needed to counter these threats.
04:55Starmer has pledged to increase British defense spending to 2.5 percent of gross domestic product
05:01by 2027 and to 3 percent by 2034. Russia could be ready to use military force against NATO within five years.
05:11Five years. Let's not kid ourselves. We are all on the eastern flank now. The new generation of
05:19Russian missiles travel at many times the speed of sound. The distance between European capitals is
05:27only a matter of minutes. There is no longer east or west. There is just NATO.
05:34Rutte has proposed a target of 3.5 percent of economic output on military spending and another
05:40one and a half percent on defense related expenditures such as roads, bridges, airfields and seaports.
05:45Most NATO members have already pledged a substantial increase in military spending,
05:51and Rutte said he is confident the alliance will agree to the 5 percent target at its summit in The Hague
05:56in two weeks. Ukraine and Russia have started a new prisoner exchange,
06:07following an agreement reached at the second round of direct talks in Istanbul last Monday.
06:11Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in a statement.
06:25Kiev and Moscow agreed that the exchange would include young soldiers under 25 years old and those
06:31severely ill. Russia's defense ministry confirmed the return of the first group of Russian POWs on Monday.
06:38Among those returning to Ukraine are the defenders of Mariupol,
06:44who have spent over three years in Russian captivity.
06:50Both sides have also agreed to exchange the bodies of fallen soldiers.
06:58Kiev says it has brought back over 5,000 prisoners of war in a series of exchanges since March,
07:04and that it continues to offer Russia an all-for-all swap.
07:15A referendum in Italy on easing access to citizenship and boosting worker protection
07:20failed due to low turnout. To be valid, the vote required participation from at least 50 percent
07:28plus one of eligible voters. However, Italian authorities said slightly less than 30 percent
07:35of eligible voters had cast their ballots at the end of two days of voting.
07:42One ballot question asked voters whether the residency requirement for Italian citizenship
07:47should be caught from ten to five years. The remaining four questions addressed recent reforms on
07:54labour rights and protections. The proposals came from Italy's unions and left-wing opposition parties.
08:02But the ruling coalition opposed the measures, with some politicians urging voters to stay away and
08:08sink the turnout below the quorum threshold. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney went to the polling station,
08:16but deliberately left without voting. Clean-up began after dozens of residents in the Swiss canton of Valles were
08:29evacuated following a mudslide. Caused by heavy rainfall, the mudslide tore away an emergency bridge in the area,
08:37meaning a pedestrian and cycle path is the only thing linking to rural villages.
08:42The debris flooding the area since last week's storm carries wood,
09:12mud and large stones. Locals will be relocated elsewhere for an indefinite period according to local officials.
09:23This year, arrivals to Greece by air will be up by roughly 7 percent. However, the increase will mainly
09:31concern Athens and Thessaloniki. Other Greek islands, particularly in the Aegean, seem to have reached their
09:38limits on how many visitors they can accommodate. This is fueling renewed discussions on whether
09:44restrictions should be placed on the creation of new accommodation in the most popular destinations.
09:49While in the Aegean, the
10:15After the escalation of the last three years, the nuisance of tourists in 2025 is not going to be in the same level.
10:24The tourism processes, according to the downtime, should be recreated with no surveillancerences.
10:32The alltidness of tourists should be in the same place.
10:34The tourism industry should be a big problem.
10:37The roads are now and the tumble and the parkings.
10:41Some of them have easy solutions that we propose with this country.
10:45Some of them want time.
10:47Whatever they do in public transportation,
10:49we know that it is not a decision that it will come today and it will begin tomorrow.
10:53Greek hoteliers argue that the term over-tourism is being used
10:57to cover up chronic pathologies of the state,
11:00which has failed to ensure that the Greek islands have the necessary infrastructure
11:04to support visitors.
11:06The Santorini and the Miko no have this code.
11:09There is no investment in the supply.
11:11We can't talk about strategic planning and coronavirus
11:15in the Greek tourism and they don't have the unnecessary supply.
11:19A new island is an unnecessary supply
11:22and there is no doubt about this.
11:25Hoteliers have asked that the 500 million euros per year
11:29in fees paid by visitors be allocated to projects
11:32that allow quality and sustainable tourism.
11:36nels have asked for that.
11:37A new island is what keeps doing.
11:38If you're finding out more,
11:39you can't wait for more and more.
11:40You're thinking in the introduction
11:41of Greek hotels are there.
11:42Everybody can't wait for any of those places.
11:43They're asking us if you're not going to go to Japan.
11:44We're going to take a minute now.
11:45We have a couple of different things to do.
11:46We're going to ask our students to wrap up each other,
11:47from the end of our society.
11:48We're going to go to Japan and say it's a new one.
11:49We're going to go huge.
11:50You can't wait back to Japan or just for a new island.
11:51We're going to go to Japan.
11:52After we're going to go away,
11:53When we're going to go to Japan,
11:54from one side,
11:57we're going to die with the same wall.
