00:00We have seen some excerpts of this speech the Prime Minister will deliver at the National
00:06Press Club. We expect it to be, essentially, Anthony Albanese outlining his agenda for
00:11Labor's second term in office, the approach he intends to take to this term of parliament.
00:17But he's using this speech to sound some warnings, essentially, about the state of democracy
00:23globally, saying that there is global uncertainty out there, but not just in an economic sense,
00:28it actually goes further than that. He sort of warns that voters globally are perhaps
00:33losing faith in government and politics to deliver for them. And he says his approach,
00:39at least, to trying to turn that around domestically here in Australia is just keeping the promises
00:44that have been made, working to have a stable government that is delivering what was promised
00:49to voters before the election. And he points to the problem, he says, of people falling
00:54through the cracks, feeling like they've been left behind and government not delivering
00:59for them. So, he's pointed to three key election pledges Labor made in spaces like healthcare,
01:04like expanding bulk billing access for people across the country, in the energy space, accelerating
01:10the renewables rollout, and also in the housing space, trying to deliver greater supplies of
01:16affordable housing around the country. So, clearly making the case that he intends to deliver
01:21on those promises, pointing out as well that Labor does have a sizeable majority in this new
01:27parliament, but making clear that those are the key priorities as he starts this second term.
