00:10And they have reversed their policy, and all but those that earn £35,000 a year or more will now get their winter fuel allowance.
00:20It means that £1.8 million won't.
00:23Quite how they administer that £35,000 figure, I'm not sure.
00:28I always thought it would be easier to say no winter fuel allowance if you pay, say, £40p tax or more.
00:35But it is a considerable step in the right direction.
00:39There'll be a lot of pensioners out there very, very pleased, including constituents of mine in Clacton, who served this country in World War II and felt they were being very badly treated.
