00:00In a joint workshop that was organized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh
00:05and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India
00:11and Indian Cellular and Electronics Association, ICEA,
00:16the Government of Andhra Pradesh had announced a draft policy
00:20for the Electronic Component Manufacturing Policy 4.0.
00:24This, as you know, is to drive investments into the state of Andhra Pradesh
00:29the state which was badly affected by the misgovernance of the previous Jagan Reddy's rule.
00:38Now the NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh, under the Chief Ministership of Mr. Chandruav Naidu,
00:44is bringing back, is trying to, you know, bring back the brand image of AP
00:50as a most favorable investment destination.
00:54So as part of this drive and as part of the Government's effort to rebuild brand AP,
00:59we have released a draft policy to bring in investments in the sector of electronic components manufacturing,
01:06which is a very key sector, which has a lot of potential to drive the economic growth of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
01:17So in this draft policy, there is also a discussion that happened
01:23which says, through which almost 50% of the capital investment
01:29will be provided, will be supported by the Government.
01:35So these kind of issues were also discussed, and companies like Dixon and Neolink
01:43have immediately committed to bringing their investment into the state
01:48by generating employment to the tune of 10,000, 5,000 each by each company.
01:57So these kind of initiatives by the Government are receiving huge response from investors,
02:04not only bringing out good policies, the Government is also developing the required infrastructure,
02:10whether it be providing quality 24 by 7 power or, you know, enhancing the road connectivity across the state,
02:19and also skilling the required manpower.
02:22The Government is also focusing on, hugely focusing on skill development,
02:27because all these companies which are bringing in investment
02:29and which are interested to set up their industries, they require skilled manpower.
02:34So Chandrubhava Naiduji is putting a lot of focus on skill development,
02:37even the HRD Minister, Sri Nara Lokesh, is also putting his keen interest in skill development.
02:45And it is our promise, it is our election promise, it is there in our manifesto,
02:49that during these five years of our rule,
02:53we are committed to create 20 lakh new jobs for the unemployed youth.
02:59So as part of our efforts to fulfill our election promise to create 20 lakh jobs,
03:06we are bringing out these kind of policies,
03:08and the Electronic Component Manufacturing Policy 4.0 is also one step towards delivering our promise of creating jobs,
03:17and this had received huge response.
03:19In addition to the efforts of the Union Government,
03:22under the Make in India campaign by the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
03:26the state government also is putting in its best efforts to attract investments,
03:31and today across the globe, in the global scenario also,
03:34India had become the most favorable destination now for manufacturing sector.
03:41Previously it used to be China, but now slowly we are surpassing China because of the favorable conditions here,
03:48and very soon we are very confident that by the year 2047,
03:52the Vision 2047 document, which is being promoted both by Mr. Modi and Mr. Naidu,
03:58India will become the number one destination for manufacturing,
04:03and electronic component manufacturing is one of the priority sectors both for the Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh,
04:09and that is the reason why yesterday we have conducted a workshop with METI and the concerned association and Government of AP,
04:19and we have brought out a draft, and the final draft will be very soon approved by the Cabinet,
04:24and we are very hopeful that this will result in huge investments in the state of,
04:30in the field of sector of electronic component manufacturing,
04:33and it will create many jobs for the unemployed youth in the state.
04:36Sir, will there be any capital subsidy or interest subvention schemes?
04:40Yeah, there is a proposal for capital expenditure support to the tune of 50% that has to be discussed in the Cabinet.
04:49This is just a draft which was worked out.
04:52So, Mr. Naidu always had been very progressive and very dynamic in taking decisions to attract investments.
05:02Today we are talking about speed of doing business.
05:05The ease of doing business had been, you know, is crossed now,
05:10and we are in an era of speed of doing business.
05:13So, the Government today is working at lightning speed, you know,
05:17whether it be, you know, drafting policies, getting approvals from the Cabinet,
05:21whether it be the single window clearance which we are giving to the potential investors.
05:26So, all the three parties, you know, both TDP, BJP and Janasena are working closely, you know, together,
05:34and also the Government of India is extending its complete support.
05:37So, that is the reason why a lot of companies are looking towards AP now.
05:42So, the final policy after it gets approved in the Cabinet will have a lot of,
05:47whether it be incentives or subsidies, it will have a lot of attractive components
05:51which I am sure will attract many other companies, not only Dixon and Neolink,
05:56which had already committed its investment,
05:58but many more companies will surely follow into the state of Andhra Pradesh.
