00:00This has been a really busy day at the end of a hard-working campaign for the Scottish National Party.
00:05We've had an excellent candidate in the constituency, Katie Loudon, who's led the campaign and given a tremendous explanation of why voting SNP is important in this election.
00:17We're working hard right up until 10 o'clock tonight and doing everything we can to make sure that we hold this constituency in a by-election that we didn't want to have to fight because of the death of our colleague Christina McKelvey.
00:27But we're giving it all that we've got, as we have over the last few weeks.
00:31Mr Minister, how important is it for people to come out and vote?
00:34It's vital that people come out and vote. This is a democratic opportunity to influence the politics of our country and also to make sure that this community is well represented in the Scottish Parliament.
00:44And I'm absolutely certain that Katie Loudon will be a strong and effective representative for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse in the Scottish Parliament.
00:52This has been an energetic and an engaged campaign. It's obviously of enormous significance because it's a parliamentary by-election just about a year before the Scottish Parliament elections.
01:03The one regret I've got is that the mood of the by-election has been soured by the contribution of Nigel Farage and the videos that he's been presenting,
01:11which I think are enormously damaging to the democratic debate in our society.
01:16But people have got their choice and they can exercise that today and that's why it's important that people turn out and vote SNP.
01:22And are you confident?
01:23I'm very confident that the SNP has worked hard, had a great candidate, has done everything we can to win this constituency and we'll see what the result is.
