00:04your confidence, if you're struggling with your body image, I have some advice and some tips for
00:08you that don't involve losing weight, okay? Yes, losing weight, that's the freaking solution for
00:14it all, isn't it? But for me, when I lost weight, I still had these weird struggles with my body
00:21image, even though I lost significant amount of weight. I lost 70 pounds before, and I still had
00:27some insecurities about my body. So, before you come for me and tell me, oh, you need to lose weight,
00:32there's no such thing as being fat and confident, you're disgusting, you're unhealthy, you're gross.
00:37Before you say that, just watch this entire video, and maybe it'll give you some insight on the fat
00:42lives of people. My five tips. So, number one is eliminate triggers, okay? This, for me, meant that
00:49I was unfollowing every single account on social media that was making me feel bad about myself,
00:55that was providing a negative influence on me and my life and my mental health regarding my body.
01:01So, this could be people that are constantly talking about weight loss, people who are constantly
01:06pushing that onto people, people who are bullying fat people, like, stuff like that. I would say get
01:12away from those people, get away from that content on your social feeds, and I would say follow a bunch
01:18of plus-size girls, follow people who look like you. Plus-size guys, bigger guys, bigger girls,
01:25follow them so you can get a positive influence, because you can see that these people are living
01:30lives to their fullest extent. I would highly recommend, I believe it's Alicia McCarvel, I'll link,
01:36I'll put it right here, but these are some accounts that I personally follow that make me inspired as a
01:41plus-size woman. Alicia McCarvel is one, Loie Lane, which now she follows me back on TikTok, so I'm like,
01:48shook. But yeah, just pretty much make sure your social feeds are, are people that look like you
01:55and are not people who don't look like you and will make you feel like, like you're constantly
02:00comparing yourselves to them, comparing your life to them, comparing your body to them. Unfollow,
02:06unfollow them. Or if you want to follow them, great, but I would say unfollow them.
02:10So yes, following people that look like you, because representation matters, that is my first
02:16advice, my first tip on how to become fat and confident. My second one is practice self-care
02:22regularly. This is going to be when you harness your inner body, you do things for yourself, you get
02:29your hair done, you get your makeup done, you do your nails, you do your toenails, you just pretty much
02:34practice self-care, you do a face mask, you just take care of yourself and make yourself
02:39feel good. Because when you feel good, you'll look good. And for me, that involves doing eyelash
02:45extensions, my DIY eyelash extensions. Whenever I have eyelashes on, I just, my confidence is just
02:52so boosted. Also, getting a tan. I'm not really that tanned right now. I'm going to probably go
02:58outside and tan the girls. But getting a tan, you know, getting a new outfit, something like that.
03:04Something that you want to do to make yourself feel better. It doesn't even have to be for your
03:10physical appearance. It could be stuff to enrich your mind. Reading, watching your favorite TV shows,
03:19going for a walk, going for a hike, getting close to nature. Stuff like that can really help boost your
03:25confidence as an individual just because it makes you feel like you can do anything. You can accomplish
03:30anything. You are an individual who has power and you can do things that can make you feel good.
03:38Number three, I would say surround yourself with positive people. This can be very difficult because
03:43I know that in our lives, we definitely have people who are very close to us who are definitely say
03:50negative comments about our bodies. And whether it be a family member, a friend, your partner,
03:56it's a very tricky subject. And my advice to you would be to create boundaries with these people
04:03and communicate with them effectively and tell them, listen, I don't like when you make comments
04:08about my body. It doesn't make me feel good. Even if it's a joke, you can tell them to stop joking
04:13around because it's making you unhappy. And if you need to create boundaries where they're out of your
04:19life, then you can do that as well. Okay. Let's surround ourselves with positive people who
04:25you know, bring us up instead of, instead of tearing us down and making us feel horrible about
04:31ourselves. Um, there's a difference between being, um, concerned about someone's health that's close
04:37to you and then, and then someone who's just insulting you just to make you feel bad about yourself
04:41because they're fat phobic and they have a mindset that fat people are this, this, and that.
04:46So I'd say fuck them. So yeah, number three, build a fat friendly community. Surround yourself with
04:52positive people that uplift you and don't just tear you down just because of your size.
04:57Number four, I would say make bold fashion choices. This is something that you want to push yourself
05:04to do, even though you don't feel like it. Wearing a crop top, wearing a sleeveless, like I'm literally
05:10in a bralette right now on my platform for you guys, but wearing something that shows off your arms,
05:16showing off your stomach or whatever, wearing a two-piece bikini, like don't be afraid, push yourself,
05:22what is the worst that could happen? You know, your body is your body regardless if it's in a crop top
05:28or a long or a short sleeve top. It is your body. So I would say make bold fashion choices that you
05:35want to make. If you want to wear something that will make you feel more happy and like pretty and
05:41you're like, Oh my God, I love that, but I don't think I could ever wear it. Wear it because you never
05:46know. It can just open your wardrobe to a bunch of different possibilities that you didn't think
05:52could initially happen. And you can actually wear things that you like and that you're not just
05:56settling for because you are plus size. Um, what else? Yeah. So liven up your wardrobe. Um, you have
06:03to condition yourself to wear this cute clothing because it's not going to instantaneously be that
06:09you put the outfit on and you go out into the world and you're like, and you feel like everyone's
06:13staring at you. That's probably going to happen. It depends. I know for me, it happens. Um, any,
06:20anytime that I'm like out and I'm just like wearing what other people wear, it's an issue.
06:27Well, I don't even know if it's an issue. It's just like, I get a lot of looks and it used to
06:32really piss me off, but now it's like, maybe they're just looking at me because they recognize me.
06:36You know, because she's just so famous. They either recognize me or they think I'm pretty or
06:43whatever. So you got to actually get out of your mind, get out of your head and maybe think that,
06:50okay, maybe this person's looking at me because they like how I look or maybe they think I'm hot
06:53or maybe they're, um, I remind them of somebody. Maybe that's why they're looking. But I know that
06:58there's also those looks that you get where it's like that person's looking at you because they're
07:02making fun of you and they think you look like shit and blah, blah, blah, blah. I know those
07:07looks. I still get those looks. Um, so my advice is to, is just to realize that no matter what,
07:16people are going to judge you. No matter if you're wearing a baggy top or a crop top, you're going to
07:21get the same looks, the same stares, maybe a little worse if you wear a crop top, but they're still
07:26going to look at you. You know why? Because society hates fat people. That's why. So if you want to
07:32wear a cute fucking top, wear it, girl, because like who's stopping you? Chad, Jeremy, Sophia,
07:40fuck them. Yeah. Just make bold fashion choices. I have one last one here. Um, and this is trust
07:49your body. Okay. Trust your body. If it's, if you're hungry, eat, treat your body good and take
07:56care of it mentally and physically. And also a lot of emphasis on the mental because us plus size
08:02people, we, we go through the ringer when it comes to our mental health, when it comes to our body image
08:07and self-esteem issues and anxiety and depression and feeling never good enough. So treat yourself
08:14good. Stop punishing yourself for being a big person. Some people are just fat. Like, I'm sorry.
08:19I, you should see what I eat during the day. You would be like, how is she still this thick? Girl,
08:27I don't know at this point. Some people are big because of the medication they take, the genetic,
08:31uh, makeup of their family, health issues that prevent them from losing weight. So that's why
08:35you shouldn't judge a person who is fat and just attribute it to them being lazy or not caring about
08:41their health because you have no idea what that person goes through on a daily basis. Like I said,
08:46trust your body. But also if you want to exercise, exercise is so great to not only just for your
08:53physical health, but for your overall mental wellbeing. So I would say don't be afraid of
08:59exercise. If you're a fat person, don't be afraid for going for a walk and doing little things here
09:04and there just to like boost your strength and your agility. Um, and just to overall like have a
09:11really good sense of self. I think if you do these five things, you will definitely feel a big
09:18confidence boost in your life. A little wrap up. So number one, eliminate triggers and build positive
09:23representations. Number two, harness your inner body. So self care. Number three, build a fat friendly
09:29community and cut out the people who aren't there on your side. Four, liven up your wardrobe and don't
09:35be afraid to make bold fashion choices. Push yourself to do this because trust me, you will literally be
09:41so much happier once you can wear whatever you want and don't have to wait to lose weight to wear
09:46something. Like that's always what we go through as fat people. So don't wait to lose weight. Literally
09:51wear what you want now. And then number five, trust your body. If you're hungry, eat. If you want to
09:57exercise, exercise, but overall treat yourself good. Mental, mentally and physically, whatever that means
