00:18when they need emergency assistance or encounter a setback in the economy.
00:23I have seen a tangible value of the Medicaid program in Northwest Indiana
00:27and how it predominantly assists seniors, individuals with disabilities, and children.
00:32It is deeply regrettable that this misguided legislation will not only strip away these health care benefits,
00:38but it also increases private health care costs and reduces services for everyone.
00:43Take Jake, a high school student who uses a wheelchair.
00:46He relies on Medicaid waiver for school support and depends on our health care system to move, thrive, and survive.
00:54Cutting his Medicaid isn't just wrong, it's cruel.
00:57This legislation amounts to the largest transfer of wealth from the pockets of the most vulnerable
01:02and the working families to the richest among us.
01:05I urge my Senate colleagues to reject this harmful legislation.
