ठाणे : सर्वत्र पर्यावरण रक्षणासाठी प्रयत्न सुरू असताना ठाण्यातील जैव विविधतेने नटलेल्या 'कावेसर तलाव' वाचवण्यासाठी मोहीम सुरू झाली आहे. काही दिवसांपूर्वी या तलावाच्या सुशोभीकरणाचे भूमिपूजन झाले आणि नवीन वादाला तोंड फुटले. दीडशे वर्ष जुन्या अशा हिरानंदानी इस्टेट परिसरातील कावेसर तलाव सुशोभीकरणापासून वाचवण्यासाठी हे काम थांबावे म्हणून याचिकादेखील दाखल करण्यात आली आहे. या याचिकेवर चार हजार नागरिकांनी सह्या केल्या आहेत. यासोबत 8 जून रोजी जनआंदोलन करत मोर्चा काढण्यात येणार आहे. नागरिकांचा विरोध हा या भागातील काँक्रीटीकरणाला आहे. यामुळं येथील जैव विविधतेला नुकसान झाले आहे. म्हणूनच पर्यावरणप्रेमी नाराज झाले आहेत. या आंदोलनात नागरिकांना सहभागी होण्याचं आवाहन करण्यात आलं आहे. या आंदोलनाला 'सेव्ह कावेसर लेक सिटी सिटीझन मूव्हमेंट' असं नाव देण्यात आलं आहे. तर रविवारी आंदोलन करण्यात येणार आहे.
