00:00I am at Chatin and I am at the location where there was a massive landslide which occurred

00:26on the night of 1st of June. But as a prelude to this I must tell you that very very heavy

00:31rains have been experienced in this area from 30th of May onwards and the rain was so heavy

00:37and unprecedented that if you take your attention which is on the other side of the mountain

00:42you can see this huge waterfall and the huge river which has been created on the landslide

00:46which never existed before and because of which we carried out certain precautionary

00:51evacuations. However, this area being stable and totally nothing was anticipated here

00:56so there were around 50 to 70 personnel who were residing here. But on the unfortunate

01:02night of 1st of June there was a very heavy landslide because of which we had to carry

01:08out evacuation. But unfortunately 9 of our personnel in nature got the better of them and in this

01:16period in the last 3 days we have mobilized all our resources and we have been able to

01:22recover 3 mortal remains. And as you can see right now also this area is active it's not

01:27just the army it is the civilians and also the team of NDRF which is here and it is a

01:33collaborative effort and we are trying to search for the balance 6 personnel of ours who continue

01:39to be missing. Not only that we have rendered all possible support to the civilians here the

01:44standard tourists we have been able to evacuate around 30 of them yesterday and also we reached

01:49out to the tourists who were stuck in Lachen which is a village north and we have assured them that

01:53all possible assistance will be given to them. It is anticipated that approximately maybe tomorrow

01:59or day after the weather might improve and as and when it improves it will be our first priority

02:04to take out all these stranded tourists here while we continue our efforts to look for our missing personnel.
