00:05Agroalba Fair.
00:07Venezuelan Foreign Minister Iván Hill announced preparations for the Great Agroalba Expo Fair
00:12to be held this Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6.
00:16Hill explained that this innovative integration mechanism of ALBA-TCP aims to promote productive
00:22investment and strengthen food sovereignty, promoting sustainable development, according
00:27to the International Center for Productive Investment, Agroalba lays the foundations for
00:33inclusive and sustainable economic development for the benefit of the region and the promotion
00:38of Petro-Caribe and ALBA-TCP.
00:42Agroalba, as you know, is an initiative that arose from the Presidential Summit on December
01:0014, 2024, when we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of
01:09Our America.
01:10The presidents, heads of state and governments, and prime ministers, called for the creation
01:15of this initiative, which kicks off with all ALBA member, countries, and beyond to produce,
01:25invest, and create the shield, we could say, of food security and sovereignty for ALBA, for
01:34the Caribbean, and for the Latin American region.
01:42Secretary General of the Bolivarian Alliance, Jorge Arreaza, said they expect to meet Agroalba's
01:48goals to meet the needs of all ALBA countries.
01:54As I say to the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, the ALBA Secretariat is very grateful for this
02:00proposal from President Nicolas Maduro.
02:02We already had the President of Petro-Caribe as a great tool for the development of countries,
02:09and for generosity and cooperation.
02:12In that same spirit, Agroalba is being created so that we can use those 58 million hectares
02:18of land in all our countries, and the waters of all our countries, to produce food and to
02:24meet our needs.
