00:00She had been dumped at least four times, which was so devastating.
00:04She was found in a cardboard box in the middle of the street.
00:07I was contacted to see if I had space to take her in. Of course, I did.
00:13When she arrived at the rescue, she was so shut down.
00:16She was just overweight to the point where she struggles to groom herself.
00:20I didn't know how she got to this state.
00:23No one really gave her the chance to be who she is.
00:25I knew under all this excess weight was a sweet, loving cat that just needed to come out.
00:30And I was committed to helping her get her life back.
00:33Clementine arrived at approximately 18 pounds.
00:37The vet ultimately told me that her goal weight would be between 10, 12, maybe even 8 pounds.
00:44At first, it's been a struggle to get her to move.
00:46I've tried every toy you can imagine.
00:48She will like one toy one day, but then the next will be totally uninterested.
00:55So it's been a matter of switching things up daily.
01:01As much as I can get her to play, ultimately it all helps.
01:05I learned that she was obsessed with catnip toys and she'll get motivated to play.
01:11It's been amazing to see her blossom and come out of her shell.
01:15She's down a few pounds and for her, that's huge.
01:19She's a totally different cat from when she arrived.
01:22She's just so loving and sweet and I just can't believe that anyone would abandon her.
01:27She's honestly the ideal cat to adopt.
01:30I know that she still has a long way to go, but my hopes are that I'll find a loving and caring family
01:37who will work with her and help her continue her journey.
