00:00Thank you to the MC this morning.
00:06There is no reason why Perkeso, and I want the press to take note of this, to report this,
00:13there is no reason why Perkeso wants to withhold your entitlement and your rights,
00:19especially to our contributors who have contributed all their life.
00:22Every year, we pay out more than 3.4 billion ringgit annually to almost 500,000 Perkeso contributors
00:33under various benefit payouts.
00:36So there is no reason why we withhold your entitlement.
00:40My dear friend, the fate of 10 million workers and their families are on our shoulders.
00:46This thought alone should make us very alert and very angry about fraud and errors in the system,
00:54which is why I am very proud.
00:58Last year, Perkeso, through a regular audit process led by our in-house Sherlock Holmes,
01:06CEO of Datuk Street, Dr. Aswan, was able to flag incidences of false claim
01:12and subsequently, the case was handed over to MACC.
01:16And it turned out that it was a major syndicate operating with a number of individuals.
01:21Consequently, 37 of them were arrested under obstinate junk by MACC.
01:26Thank you, MACC and congratulations Perkeso.
01:30I think the numbers there, but I told the CEO that the number doesn't add up.
01:35So I'm going to give my speech later to the press.
01:38This is the right number.
01:38Over the last five years, Perkeso investigated about 100, almost 100, 1,200 cases involving various schemes,
01:50temporary and permanent disablement benefits, the invalidity schemes, health screening program,
01:57constant attendant allowance, etc.
01:59And consequently, as a result of that investigation over these last five years,
02:05500 cases were suspended for fraud and error,
02:10saving Perkeso over $61 million in future money.
02:20Again, congratulations Perkeso.
02:21But having said that, I want us all to be very mindful.
02:30Yes, we must be firm and there must be no compromise against fraudulent claims.
02:36I'm committed to crushing all these false claim syndicates because you are abusing,
02:42they are abusing the system of social security which protects vulnerable people.
02:48But we must also not victimize genuine claimants with complicated screening processes.
02:55And in this age of IT and AI, there is no excuse to sacrifice efficiency of a system on the order of integrity.
03:18No, I'm convinced we can have both efficiency and integrity.
03:24That's why I gave you a poem that's not abandoned, right?
03:27We can ensure a quicker, painless process which is fraud-proof.
03:35And for this, today's seminar should guide our conversation towards such a goal.
03:40Finally, this is not in the programming.
03:47I am extremely honoured today and proud to announce a prestigious recognition for our in-house Sherlock Holmes,
04:00the Lifetime Fellowship of the American College of Independent Medical Examiners upon Datuk Sri Dr. Asma.
04:08The Fellowship of the American College of Independent Medical Examiners is the highest qualification in disability medicine,
04:22awarded only to those who have reached the pinnacle of knowledge, skills and abilities required
04:34of a high-quality, independent medical examiner.
04:39And therefore, this fellowship, of course, is definitely an individual honour,
04:44recognising the talent, ability and contribution of Datuk Sri Dr. Asma,
04:48but at the same time, it is also a recognition for Perkeso as an institution.
04:55Perkeso's fight against fraud is not new.
04:57It reflects a legacy of firm leadership and institutional resolve.
05:02Under the steward leadership of Datuk Sri, Dr. Mohamed Azman Mohamed,
05:07our effort began with tackling abuse in medical board processes
05:10and have since evolved to uncover and dismantle sophisticated fraud cutters.
05:16The progression is a testament of our zero-tolerance stance
05:19and our unwavering commitment to protecting the integrity of Malaysia's social protection system.
05:25We are intensifying efforts across all fronts,
05:29from strengthening claim verification processes
05:31to fast-tracking investigations through closer collaborations
05:35between Perkeso and enforcement agencies.
05:39We will now be taking a few moments for a report of the session.
05:49Perkeso, Dr. Mohamed Azman Mohamed,
