Ukrainian forces carried out a massive drone attack on Sunday, striking dozens of Russian planes.
00:04
A source in the security service of Ukraine told me that the country attacked four Russian air
00:09
bases, resulting in billions of dollars in losses. The source sent me this video of a row of Russian
00:15
bombers burning, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the air. At least two bombers in this
00:19
footage, including the one struck, are covered in tires. Russia has used this tactic throughout
00:24
the war in an attempt to confuse Ukrainian weapon systems, like drones and missiles,
00:29
that are looking for the aircraft. The SBU source told me it took over a year and a half to plan the
00:34
attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allowed some details to be revealed, including
00:39
that Ukraine transported small first-person view drones to Russia with what looked like wooden
00:44
shipping crates. On Sunday, the tops of the crates were remotely opened and the drones flew out to
00:49
fulfill the mission. Russia's defense ministry has acknowledged the drone attacks, but downplayed
00:53
the scale. To read more about the strike, head to businessinsider.com.
