00:00I'm a former coach of Gukesh. I'm India's 33rd Grandmaster and I've been coaching for many years now.
00:07About the game yesterday, yeah, it was very, very tense and things were not looking good for Gukesh early.
00:14But, you know, under pressure he turned up better than Magnus and there were too many twists and turns.
00:22So it was a very tense and exciting match and I'm very happy that he won actually.
00:26Yeah, so it's his first classical win I think and probably more to come.
00:31How this team can be capitalized for the World Championship?
00:36Carlsen is no longer part of this cycle but he's considered as the No. 1 player still, widely.
00:43So I think it's probably an important thing for Gukesh also to get some wins against Carlsen so that he's aiming, apart from the World Championship, to be as the best player.
00:54So, it's a good step towards that, yeah.
00:57Particularly the point after losing the game we saw Carlsen and then out of the control.
01:02Yeah. No, that has happened a few times before. So, especially the game was very tense and very up and down.
01:10Probably Carlsen was lamenting his mischances and, yeah, just a lot of passion there.
01:16Why have you seen the point of game when it's turned up?
01:21Yeah, first initial in IT to check and there were a couple of moments which were a bit shocking actually but I think the time control in this event is slightly odd.
01:31So, it invites more mistakes because you're running out of time to finish the game, yeah.
01:38How do you see Tamil Nadu, particularly, it has been producing Dan Masa from you, being great in Tadia and his vitality and his tones on?
01:50Yeah. How has this been particularly on Tamil Nadu?
01:53No, India's first IM was from Mr. Manuel Aran and then the association was started very early on.
02:01There was some structure thing very early on. Of course, the boom of Vishay Anand created everything for the future and now these boys are already creating more future Grand Masters, inspiring a lot of more people now.
02:13So, it's a snowball effect of what the others have done in the past and a culture has been created where you can create more and more champions with less effort.
02:24You trained Gubay in the early years. How was he? Have you predicted him that?
02:29No, I knew that he would be a top player. He would go to the top of the world but becoming a world champion or becoming the best is very hard to be sure of. So, yeah, very proud of what he has achieved.
02:41Student was above the guru.
02:43Yeah, yeah, definitely. I mean, he crossed me a long time ago but, yeah, definitely very proud of him.
