00:00BNP Paribas, partenaire des plus belles histoires de Roland Garros, aux côtés des ramasseurs de balles depuis plus de 50 ans.
00:30Hi, Myra.
00:34A word about the feeling on court when, you know, everything seems under control and going well?
00:41Yeah, today I can say that I felt a little nervous before the match, but overall throughout the whole match I felt like I could do whatever I want on the court.
00:51Like, you know, I felt free. I felt like even though the match is tight and even though sometimes she plays very tough shots, I felt like as soon as I recover and the point starts again, I felt like I can create what I want.
01:08And it felt nice, honestly. So, yeah, I'm happy that with every match I play, I feel better and better. So I think that this is a good thing.
01:18You said you felt a little nervous at the beginning and the last two matches you've had a slow start. Does that worry you at all? Do you feel you need to start a little bit quicker?
01:30Well, maybe it worried me a little bit, but I'm just happy that it doesn't matter if the start is slow, I can bounce back and still, you know, the first two matches it was 0-3 and then the second match was 1-3.
01:47But I came back and the first match I won the first set 6-4 and the second match I won 6-3.
01:52So, of course, it would be nice to maybe start a little bit better, but I think that it doesn't really bother me.
02:00Maybe just I need a little bit more time for these first matches to, you know, kind of start and play my tennis.
02:07But overall, I don't know. It's OK. I'm not really worried.
02:11Congratulations. What do you think is the main aspect that Conchita is handling especially well on your game and on your character on the daily work?
02:25I think that she knows what to tell me and how to calm me down or either how to pump me up.
02:36So it depends how I feel. I think that she knows what to do to make me feel better.
02:41And I think that this is really important in my case because for me, of course, it is important how I feel.
02:51So if I feel a little bit down or nervous, she knows how to kind of, you know, make a joke so I can laugh and a little bit relax.
03:00Or if I feel, like, super energetic, she also knows how to calm me down.
03:04And I think that day by day, she still also knows what to do more.
03:11So I think that in this case, she's doing a very good job.
03:17OK, Craig, and then to mine. Craig?
03:19Mira, what are your thoughts going into the next match?
03:23And have you had much contact with Daszka Kasatkina?
03:28Yeah, I've practiced with her here once already.
03:32So I think that we practice together every tournament.
03:35So it's going to be an entertaining match for sure because I think we both know each other very well.
03:42So, you know, I think that it's going to be fun and also maybe pretty tight.
03:49So we're going to see.
03:51But I think that the match is going to be super interesting.
03:54Hey, Mira.
03:55Your backhand down the line is your shot.
03:59And in my opinion, you hit better than almost anyone on the tour.
04:02How long have you been able...
04:03How long has that been, I guess, part of your weaponry?
04:07Like, did you have it when you were younger?
04:08And how did it develop?
04:10Yeah, I can say that I felt super confident playing my backhand down the line since I was very young.
04:16So I think that just with years and practices, I just kind of learned how to get better in this shot.
04:26And I'm just, yeah, I'm trying to still improve it every day because I feel like sometimes it's not ideal.
04:33But I can, you know, of course, create a lot of offensive shots with my backhand, especially down the line.
04:42And so since I'm very young, I felt like this is kind of my maybe signature shot.
04:49Hi, Mira.
04:51A year ago here, you talked about the idea of going into a match with a game plan from your coach, but then just kind of winging it.
05:00Has that changed at all to now?
05:05I can say that maybe I try to remember a little bit more from what Conchita tells me.
05:15So I have, you know, of course, a game plan and kind of a goal how to play for the match.
05:21But I can say that when I start to play, I don't have like a pattern in my head that I say, OK, I go to cross one line because she has worse backhand or I don't know, whatever.
05:35So when I'm on the court and I start to play the match, I feel like I just do whatever I want.
05:40And, you know, then we see if my game needs a little adjustment.
05:47OK.
05:49One more.
05:51I'm just curious, how would you describe Daria as an interviewer?
05:56I think she can improve.
06:00No, honestly, of course, she I think that it's it's very important that she finds a great timing to ask people questions, because when I took the camera from her in Rome and I started to ask some people, some of them were eating, some of them were on the phone.
06:16So I felt like a little embarrassed. But I think that she of course, she's doing a great job finding the right timing when to ask questions.
06:25And I think her and Natasha, they have a great kind of list of questions.
06:31They know what to ask. So it's entertaining and interesting. So, of course, I think she's OK.
06:38I think she's OK.
06:39Yeah.
06:39I think she's OK.
06:41I think I think she's OK.
