00:00Previously, on Genius Game.
00:02What is this?
00:04In the main match, it was a case of who could be trusted.
00:07Bex, it feels like you're playing both sides.
00:09Whoa, what are you doing in there?
00:11It's a game, Benji.
00:12You're not letting me talk.
00:13Oh, my God.
00:14Indie emerged victorious.
00:16Well done, India.
00:17I would like to give immunity to Bex.
00:19Thank you, India.
00:20And Badalia's defeat meant there was only one player he wanted to challenge.
00:24A man thief.
00:25I think there's only room for one of us in this game.
00:27I'm taking you to deathmatch.
00:28But there was a shocking twist.
00:30The entire group will have the opportunity to influence the outcome for the deathmatch.
00:36That's so crazy.
00:39Everyone needs to choose the same two cards.
00:42A man thief played the cards he was dealt and was therefore eliminated by the other players.
00:48It's just a brutal way to take someone out of the game.
00:52I was out before you even started.
00:53Everyone is more afraid of a man thief.
00:55They played so well.
00:56That's why everyone is wanting him out.
00:58Congratulations, man.
00:59I would have liked to go on to win.
01:01Losing a competition is never fun.
01:21We're the first.
01:23There's only seven of us left.
01:26Everyone is so strong and intelligent.
01:28I think it's getting trickier to work out who should be the most feared,
01:32especially after the last deathmatch, which was basically just a vote.
01:35In which case, Ken does need to switch on the social side of his game a bit more,
01:40as that could be a weakness for him.
01:42Are you thinking now you might want to integrate more with groups and things?
01:47Yeah, I think definitely that's become more important.
01:50So I'm starting to think, oh, who would back me in that situation?
01:53And also, who would I pick?
01:54Have you got your eye on anybody?
01:56I'm not thinking about it until I have to, really.
01:59I was obviously making a play.
02:05I came in thinking he would shake my hand and we would go on for it,
02:07but he doesn't feel the need, despite seeing yesterday's deathmatch.
02:16He's done it, he's back.
02:20We meet again, players.
02:22Welcome back to Genius Game.
02:25The Magnificent Seven.
02:27The question is, who's going to ride that horse out of town
02:30and who's going to not take the...
02:33I don't know, what do they do in Westerns?
02:36Anyway, I do know how many garnets you've managed to accumulate so far.
02:40You've increased the amount of garnets to 24,
02:43so the prize fund currently stands at £24,000.
02:46Now, I'm sure you've all heard the tale of the tortoise and the hare,
02:49but are you familiar with the tale of the elephant and the lion
02:52and the crocodile and the giraffe and the zebra and the flamingo?
02:57No? Well, that's about to change.
02:59Your next main match is Safari Race.
03:06In this game, players must back winning animals in a race to gain points.
03:11Before the game begins, every player will receive a set of six tokens
03:15before secretly choosing which two animals they wish to make win.
03:19These two animal tokens are given to the dealer
03:22and the remaining four are placed into the communal token box.
03:27The tokens in the box will be used to move the animals in the race.
03:31In each round, players randomly draw four tokens
03:34and place them in any of the three movement squares.
03:38After all the players have placed their tokens,
03:40the animals with the highest number in each square
03:43will move along the racetrack.
03:45However, if more than one animal has the same number of tokens,
03:49those animals will not be moved.
03:51The animal with the highest unique number of tokens will move instead.
03:56Players draw lots to decide who goes first in the game.
03:59If a player chooses to skip their turn,
04:01they will then draw last in the next round.
04:03Only one player may abstain in each round.
04:07The race continues until one animal crosses the finish line.
04:11The animals closest to the finish line at the end
04:13will come second and third respectively.
04:16Just to clarify, once one has crossed the finish line,
04:20two and three is automatically confirmed as...
04:22It doesn't matter how far behind, it could have been six seconds.
04:25That's right. Ends immediately.
04:27Players will gain points based on the finishing position
04:30of the animals they initially backed.
04:32An animal that wins the race earns three points.
04:35Two points for an animal that comes second
04:37and one point for an animal in third place.
04:40Any player who supported two animals
04:42that both appear on the winner's podium receive one bonus point.
04:45The player with the most points at the end of the game
04:48will be the main match winner
04:50and receive two tokens of life and five garnets.
04:53The player with the fewest points will be the deathmatch candidate.
04:57You need to be as brave as a lion, as ferocious as a crocodile
05:01and as quick off the starting blocks as a flamingo.
05:04That's how the phrase goes, right?
05:07I will give you a bit of time to check out the form
05:10and see if you can work out a favourite safari race.
05:13We'll begin soon.
05:16Ooh!
05:18I'm quite excited for this one. I have no idea how it's going to go.
05:22The order of play for the start of the game will now be decided.
05:27I love picking stuff out of a bag.
05:32Four.
05:33Four.
05:36Seven.
05:40Five.
05:44Six.
05:46Having a last position is key in this game
05:49because you get to decide which animals will be moving.
05:52Having an end position is very important,
05:55otherwise abstaining wouldn't put you to the end.
05:58Is that Wuhan? It is Wuhan.
06:01Three.
06:03Number two.
06:04Charlotte will pull tokens first
06:06and Bedalia gets the prime position of being last.
06:10The dealer will now distribute your six animal tokens.
06:14Ooh, they look like poker chips.
06:16Yeah, right?
06:17Oh, no. I see what you mean. I see what you mean. Thank you.
06:20I think they're plastic.
06:23Players, you have ten minutes to decide which two animals you will support.
06:28Your time begins now.
06:30I'm just going to go and get some paper. Yeah.
06:32Do you want to come, Bex? Huh? Do you want to come with us?
06:35Yes, please.
06:36I hate this bit. I hate this bit.
06:44I mostly trust Bex.
06:46I trust Bedalia, I think.
06:49Less so than Bex, but still quite a lot.
06:52I trust Alison.
06:53The rest might want to target me, not openly,
06:57but when the time comes.
07:00Yeah, I know, I know.
07:02I think we choose...
07:05Can I just quickly ask you guys?
07:07I would like to work with you all and try to win.
07:09I was thinking being in a two, I think, is actually beneficial.
07:13I would go and find someone to be a two with before they pair up.
07:16OK, I'll run over there.
07:18No, I appreciate it. That's the best thing.
07:20OK, see you.
07:27Unless... You've got no chance at all.
07:29India and Charlotte, they basically told me they want to work alone.
07:32I don't believe... Really? That's what they told me.
07:36Is that what they said, Ben? Ben, I'm just...
07:38Ben, is that what they said? Yeah. They didn't say that.
07:44Five is too big. Yeah.
07:46I think we're going to do it as a four.
07:52The dynamics of the group with seven of us left right now
07:55are not really in my favour.
07:57I'm probably in the worst position in the game today.
08:01Hi.
08:02Ken just kicked me out and said,
08:04there are four, you're a two and I'm the one.
08:06What?
08:07I know you two wanted to work as a two.
08:09If you still do, that's fine. I'm happy to go it alone today.
08:12But we have won every main match so far.
08:14Yeah, right.
08:15And I know that we've sort of been working together,
08:17but sort of not, sort of trusting each other, sort of not.
08:19So even when we haven't been working together,
08:21one of us has managed to win. Exactly.
08:23It did seem a bit rough when Ken kicked out Benjamin and took over.
08:28So whilst I thought I could try and form a team with Ken,
08:32it seems that Ken has taken the more naive players
08:35and made a play of his own.
08:40The most important thing,
08:41we have to exclude two animals from our entire group
08:44and go with four each.
08:45We need to quickly decide, if anyone comes in, what two...
08:49You pick, you just write them down.
08:52We've decided to pick four animals between the four of us
08:55so that there's crossover between two people at a time.
08:58So someone has one of my animals and another person has the other animal.
09:01We're all on sort of teams of two in that sense.
09:04That will help us work together.
09:06So, Badali, we'll pick lion, elephant.
09:08Alison, elephant, crocodile.
09:10Yes.
09:11Then I'll be crocodile, zebra. Yeah.
09:13And then you'd be lion, zebra. Yeah.
09:16The strategy will really depend on
09:19if anyone's picked the animals that we haven't picked together
09:22because we can try and make sure those animals are at the back
09:26and therefore one of them will be the loser in the game.
09:29Ken's strategy requires four players to support four animals.
09:33However, each individual animal
09:35is only shared by two of the players on that team.
09:38This is to try to ensure that there are more tokens
09:41for those animals left in the box
09:43and increase the potential of moving them.
09:45The four players will work not only to move their animals
09:48but also to prevent the two animals they haven't chosen
09:51from being moved at all.
09:54Please return to the atrium.
09:56The game's going to be quite open when this game starts. Yeah.
09:59Hello. Hello.
10:01Ken's saying the game will be open once it starts. Yeah.
10:04Everything will be played open
10:06and then things will change between rounds, I think.
10:08So why'd you drag everyone except for us?
10:10Huh? You dragged everyone except us.
10:12I just dragged the people who wanted to...
10:14It wasn't me who did it.
10:17I see you. I see you.
10:20Be nice to each other. Honestly, be nice to each other.
10:23It helps to be nice.
10:25Ken, why didn't you join me? We could have been great.
10:28You're scared of him.
10:30Huh? I'm scared of him?
10:32He should be scared of me. Look at me.
10:34You know how calm he is all the time.
10:36I'm just Ken.
10:40Please make your decision in the dealer room.
10:47Hi, Charlotte.
10:49Shall I choose lion and giraffe?
10:53OK, if you could place the other four tokens in the box for me.
10:58Hello. Hello, India.
11:00I wish to support flamingo and the giraffe.
11:05I do think I've also chosen the two animals which resemble me the most
11:09and that wasn't on purpose.
11:11I'm going to support the giraffe and the zebra.
11:16The three of us all picking giraffe means that our fates are linked together
11:19and we can hopefully try to support giraffe
11:22and get some points and avoid last place.
11:24I also then pick zebra because I think there's at least one or two people
11:27on that other side who are also picking zebra.
11:30I think in this game you want to be overlapping multiple people
11:34from different sides who are supporting something that benefits you.
11:37Elephant.
11:39And crocodile.
11:41There's four of us working together
11:43and we've agreed which animals we're picking
11:46and we know what each other's animals are,
11:48which means that as we race, we can help each other.
11:51Lion.
11:54And elephant.
11:56I'm placing the crocodile and the zebra.
12:01Between the four of us, we've decided to pick crocodile, elephant, giraffe.
12:07Crocodile, elephant, lion and zebra, so we can work together.
12:12I would like to support the lion and the zebra.
12:16So I went into the dealer room, I gave them zebra and a lion
12:20and I did exactly what Ken told me to do.
12:29Round one of Safari Race will now begin.
12:33Charlotte, will you please select four tokens from the box?
12:39The more contestants support a certain animal,
12:42the fewer of that animal's pieces there are in the pot.
12:46There's going to be less opportunity to draw those animals and move them in the race.
12:51Dalia, what did you pick?
12:52Lion and elephant.
12:54Yeah.
12:55Yeah.
12:56Promise.
12:58Because I was first in the game
13:00and I had no idea what other players were picking
13:03and I only know what my team were playing,
13:05I just played it off as helping Dalia, putting his ones in,
13:09which was the lion and the elephant.
13:12And also the crocodile won
13:14and for two, I also just put the zebra just as a placeholder.
13:19There's no way of knowing where anything can go.
13:22Alison, please select your four tokens.
13:24I'm going to abstain this round.
13:30Abstaining is crucial because the people who were drawing the early tokens
13:35have very little control.
13:36It's the people who place the final tokens that can decide which animals will move.
13:41Benjamin, please select your four tokens.
13:46So I pulled out a zebra, two lions and an elephant.
13:48I put the zebra token on two
13:51so that I could try to move the zebra forward two spaces
13:54because that's what I picked.
13:57Ken.
13:59Pulled out two flamingos, one crocodile and one giraffe.
14:04Tricky.
14:05You can put it there if I get a plan.
14:07I'll put it there.
14:08I decided to put one flamingo in three and one in two
14:11just to spread them out because we don't have them.
14:13And I've put in a crocodile in two and a giraffe in one,
14:16the giraffe I don't care about, the crocodile I'm focusing on.
14:27What are you thinking?
14:29Put the elephants here.
14:30Two.
14:31Put the elephant here.
14:32Both elephants.
14:33I think one for definite.
14:34I think a trot.
14:35Croc croc.
14:36Either one or two I think is fine.
14:38OK.
14:39And then giraffe.
14:42We could put in one.
14:43Fine.
14:44You discard all of them then.
14:47The fact we're almost split into two sides
14:49means I think it's going to be pretty obvious who's going for what
14:52and it's just going to be a long, long game
14:54where we just keep blocking each other's wins.
14:56I like that there's less running around in this game.
14:58Yeah, really.
14:59Chill. Chill, guys.
15:00We'll just be here for a while.
15:01Could have a cup of tea.
15:03It's interesting that we don't know how many of each animal there are in the pot.
15:06Yeah, yeah.
15:07Need to make that know that.
15:19Vidalia, please pick your four tokens.
15:22Oh, interesting.
15:24Ken. Yeah.
15:25Mia. Yeah.
15:26Do it, because I need to block.
15:28We do need to block three.
15:29Put the lion in three.
15:31India doesn't want me to win.
15:35These all cancelled each other out.
15:37Crocodile on two.
15:39Yeah, crocodile on two.
15:40Yeah, that'll work.
15:45Yeah, it's a giraffe and crocodile moving.
15:54Here are the results.
15:57In the first movement square,
15:58the giraffe has the highest unique number of tokens
16:01and so will move one space.
16:04In the second movement square,
16:05the zebra and the elephant are tied,
16:07which means it's the crocodile that has the highest number of unique tokens
16:11and moves two spaces.
16:15In the third movement square,
16:16the lion and flamingo are tied,
16:18and as there is no animal with unique amount of tokens,
16:20no animal will move three spaces.
16:25Just for you viewers, here's how they stand.
16:27Ken and Alison's crocodile takes an early lead,
16:30but Ben, Charlotte and Indy's giraffe
16:32has also managed to move one space.
16:35Charlotte.
16:39OK, we...
16:40Listen, I think really importantly,
16:42this is one thing we have to chat about,
16:44is staying loyal.
16:45Yes, ma'am, staying loyal.
16:46The most important thing is that
16:48if they have a very specific common denominator,
16:51because the moment we start stalling on those,
16:54they're going to start panicking.
16:55They can't win.
16:57We need to find a way to block their animals
17:00whilst also advancing our own.
17:03I'm not giving up my team
17:05just so I can fall into place against Ken.
17:07So if Ken wants to have a death match before the finals,
17:10then so be it.
17:17We will now begin round two.
17:20After she abstained in the last round,
17:22Alison will now be the last person to place her tokens.
17:25Benjamin, please select your four tokens.
17:29I would like to abstain, please.
17:32Ken, please select your four tokens.
17:35As a team, we're just making sure
17:37that our animals, crocodile, elephant, lion and zebra,
17:41are moving.
17:42We want these to progress, yes?
17:44And the animals that we don't have, giraffe, flamingo, don't.
17:52This round will help us work out what's left.
17:55Crocodile, three.
17:57Yeah, we should put lion in two.
18:00And then zebra in one, so we have options.
18:03OK.
18:04Yeah, I know you.
18:05Two.
18:06Yeah.
18:09And you?
18:11Wowee.
18:13There are five crocodiles, so no one has crocodiles.
18:16I mean, no one outside of us.
18:20I drawed crocodile, crocodile, crocodile, giraffe.
18:23I mean, the giraffe looks good, but the three crocodiles
18:26is just kind of the absolute worst thing I could draw.
18:29Elephants.
18:30There are five of them.
18:31I mean, none of them have one.
18:33I mean, it's just...
18:34It's just...
18:35It's just...
18:36It's just...
18:37It's just...
18:38There are five of them.
18:39I mean, none of them have one.
18:40As the tokens were coming out for the first couple of rounds,
18:43we were counting off how many tokens we'd seen,
18:46and we quickly worked out that there were five elephants
18:49and five crocodiles, and we'd, between us, used the other tokens,
18:54so we knew any movement with elephants and crocodiles
18:57was not going to benefit the other team.
18:59I could put a lion here.
19:01Yeah.
19:03OK, elephant.
19:04I'll put elephant in three.
19:06That was hard.
19:07Yeah.
19:08And zebra.
19:09One.
19:11We have an advantage at the moment that none of them have,
19:14which is that we know that we are the three that share the giraffe.
19:17So we need to put everything else in a different...
19:20Everything else.
19:21If there's still a chance to put the giraffes in three,
19:23if there's not and there's no chance to move giraffe,
19:26then we can go for ourselves.
19:27It makes sense.
19:29Charlotte?
19:30Yes.
19:31Please select your four tokens.
19:35Double flamingo.
19:36Double flamingo.
19:37How many more people?
19:39Just Alison.
19:41India is the flamingo, so I will try and help her out.
19:45If she was ever at risk of a death match, I would protect her.
19:49You could put your lion on two and the flamingo's on one.
19:51And the flamingo's on one, yeah.
19:52I think that's the best.
19:54Wait, wait, wait.
19:55Let me see.
19:56I'm starting to get it.
19:57Lion's going to move, for sure.
19:59We don't need to worry about that.
20:01Put the zebra.
20:02Put the zebra there.
20:03One, yeah.
20:04Is that right?
20:05Wait, wait.
20:06Yeah, that's fine.
20:07That's fine.
20:08OK, yeah, perfect.
20:09Yeah.
20:10Yeah.
20:11No.
20:12Oh, yeah.
20:13Yeah.
20:14It doesn't matter.
20:15It doesn't matter.
20:16It doesn't matter.
20:17It doesn't matter.
20:18It doesn't matter.
20:19It doesn't matter.
20:20It doesn't matter.
20:21It doesn't matter.
20:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:23It doesn't matter.
20:24It doesn't matter.
20:25It doesn't matter.
20:26It doesn't matter.
20:27It doesn't matter.
20:28It doesn't matter.
20:29Round two is over.
20:30Here are the results.
20:35In the first movement square,
20:36as there is no animal with a unique number of tokens,
20:39no animal will move one space.
20:42The lion will move two spaces.
20:47And the elephant will move three spaces.
20:53So now it's only Indy's flamingo and the zebra,
20:56supported by Ken, Bex and Ben, that has failed to move.
21:00Ken has figured out which animals the three of us don't have,
21:03and he's trying to make those three animals win
21:05to guarantee that one of us comes in last place.
21:09And if that happens,
21:10we're picking somebody from your group for the death match
21:12and we're not picking Ken,
21:13and people probably aren't picking Alison.
21:15So this is why it's not wise for you and Bex to do what Ken wants,
21:19because you're helping Ken win
21:20and you're making yourselves vulnerable.
21:22Because if one of us loses,
21:23you have to consider who we're going to pick.
21:25Yeah, it could be me. I understand it could be me.
21:29Ben seems, again, constantly on edge.
21:32He's not had a death match yet, so he wants security.
21:44We will now begin round three.
21:46As Ben abstained in round two, he will no place tokens last.
21:50Ken, please select your four tokens.
21:52I would like to abstain, please.
21:54Thank you, Ken. Bex, will you please select your tokens?
21:57Ready, guys?
22:00Yeah. I think smash elephants.
22:02Yeah. Yeah.
22:04We all know, five elephants in, we have a lot of power.
22:06Two. Two.
22:08I'd say flamingo here.
22:09Yeah. Yeah, happy? Yeah, I'm happy.
22:11We'll find out this round if they might have the three of the same animal.
22:15They all might have the same animals.
22:20Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
22:37I'd go Zebra, wouldn't I? I'd do.
22:39But they've only got one, Max. They've only got one, Max.
22:42Dahlia, please select your four tokens.
22:45Put elephant in three and then put two lions in.
22:48Yeah. Yeah.
22:53Shall I put these in three?
22:54Yeah, put them in three, because if they tie,
22:56then we still get lions.
22:58Maybe.
23:00Two.
23:02Why would they put two?
23:04Because they're planning on making it tie, so that they can...
23:07Charlotte? Yeah. Please select your tokens.
23:11Split the crocs? Yeah, I am. I'm just thinking one.
23:14I think I'm one.
23:16It'll loop for you. Yeah.
23:24Sweet.
23:26Ben's lost this round.
23:28Ben's lost.
23:30Ben's lost.
23:32Ben's lost.
23:34Ben's lost.
23:36Ben's lost.
23:38Ben's lost this round.
23:40Yeah.
23:42Oh, there's no lions. The giraffe, OK.
23:46I think we should go zebra on two.
23:48Alison?
23:50If you put a crocodile on two and I draw a crocodile,
23:53I'll move crocodiles if you put the giraffe on three.
23:58Don't do it.
24:00I can't put the giraffe on three.
24:04Two zebras in two, a crocodile in three.
24:08Why not put it on there?
24:10I don't think moving one is too big a deal,
24:12but if this ties, then the crocodile will still move three.
24:15Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, and it stops a block.
24:20Oh, my God, oh, my God.
24:22So my primary goal is to advance the giraffe.
24:25Come on, baby, give me an orange.
24:28SHE GIGGLES
24:30I feel like if we need to stay true, OK,
24:33we can save all of Brisbane.
24:36I think Bex and I are just a bit like oil and water in this game.
24:40I think that interpersonally we don't quite click so well.
24:44Both of us are probably a little bit weary of each other.
24:48Oh, interesting.
24:53So should I move flamingo then?
24:55Definitely move flamingo. I can only move one.
24:57You can only move one.
24:59I could move flamingo three.
25:02Or I could move lion three.
25:04Lion's already moved two, right?
25:06Yeah, but we need it to get to the finish line at some point.
25:09That's the only thing.
25:11And we need to do it while we can move the others.
25:14Yeah, two flamingo for lion.
25:17So you want me to move lion?
25:19Yeah, that works. I think it might be beneficial.
25:21Are we sure?
25:25I think it's...
25:27Yeah.
25:29I think, yeah.
25:31OK.
25:35It doesn't matter where I put this as long as I put it here, right?
25:37Yeah.
25:44We need giraffe to move as well.
25:46OK.
26:02They missed the chance to move giraffe.
26:06Ew, ew.
26:08They messed up there.
26:10Yes, they did.
26:12Yeah, they missed the chance.
26:14It was a mistake.
26:16He could have actually, at that point,
26:18given the giraffe the three points.
26:20If he tied the elephant with the lion,
26:23they'll need their giraffe to have points
26:25cos I don't think it's going to move very quickly.
26:27It makes me feel good that they've missed a trip
26:30because every situation matters.
26:32You need to make sure every situation you get to move,
26:34and if they're missing those,
26:36then we're just going to be further ahead in this race.
26:45Players, round three is over.
26:49Here are the results.
26:51The flamingo will move one space.
26:56The zebra will move two spaces.
27:01And the lion will move three spaces.
27:08All of our things are scoring.
27:11So, Indy's flamingo has finally moved,
27:14but it's still joint last, along with the giraffe,
27:17which she also has.
27:19My only chance of avoiding the death match today
27:22is to make sure that the zebra places higher
27:25than the lion that Charlotte has picked
27:28and the flamingo that India has picked.
27:35Why do you keep looking over there? You make me nervous.
27:38I know, don't be nervous.
27:40It's so scary, it's so scary,
27:42because with four abstains,
27:44they also control who goes last, basically.
27:46They never have to abstain until we abstain.
27:48No-one wants to take you at the death match.
27:50Yeah, that's fine. They've got to take each other down.
27:52Or they pick Bex. We have to protect Bex, but we don't need her.
27:55Yes, we'll protect her. We have to protect her.
27:59OK. Spread thick.
28:01Whoever wins, you're getting the token of life.
28:03Badali promised that if he won this,
28:05he would give me the token of life.
28:07Alison agreed that it would come to me also,
28:09but I'm worried that Badali is feeling a little bit exposed.
28:13Badali, you're not going to cross us, are you?
28:16I promise you I won't. He won't.
28:18I'm trying to feel them out as well.
28:20It's going to be me or you against Alison.
28:23Against Alison or Ken.
28:25I'm a little flustered, actually.
28:27The game has really flipped in a way that I didn't expect it to.
28:31I underestimated people and I regret it.
28:34I don't think they took Flamingo and that is really bad.
28:37Yeah. Because they have no reason to ever pass on forward.
28:40Yeah, right. And that is so scary.
28:42I don't know if I can come back from this
28:45unless me and Ben joint lose
28:48and then someone chooses Ben as deathmatch over me.
28:53Players, please return to the atrium.
29:00We will now begin round four.
29:03Ken abstained in the last round
29:05and will now be the last player to place tokens.
29:08Bex, please pick your four tokens.
29:10I'd like to abstain, please.
29:12India, please choose your four tokens.
29:14I need to get really lucky.
29:16Guys, look at my draw.
29:18Wow.
29:20Spit the crocs.
29:28Flamingo, one.
29:31Giraffes, one.
29:33Yeah, let's put them both in one.
29:35Charlotte, please select your four tokens.
29:43Alison, please select your four tokens.
29:46We can smash Crocodile here.
29:48Yeah, so definitely going to them.
29:50Just thinking about this moving forward,
29:52the lines have been drawn in the sand, at least for me.
29:55We've only seen four giraffes.
29:57We need to make sure that Bex doesn't get immunity.
30:00If one of us goes in and sends her home,
30:02it changes the game and then we're in the majority from now on.
30:06Then you can get these points and potentially those.
30:08Yes, that's really good.
30:10Benjamin.
30:15Guys, I've kind of lost hope in this game.
30:17Who do you think's going to lose?
30:19Can't say yet.
30:22You or Ben?
30:27Ben.
30:33OK, please select your four tokens.
30:35Bedalia.
30:42I think he's turning.
30:44Do you?
30:46What deals have you made about immunity if you win?
30:50The deal I've made is if they help me win,
30:55I'd give Bex immunity.
30:57You can't do that.
30:59Why?
31:01What Ken is trying to do is to make sure that you and Bex are immune.
31:04He's trying to make me or India lose.
31:07And then if you give Bex immunity,
31:10he's basically protecting Bex because she's weak.
31:13What do you think I should do?
31:15If you agree not to give Bex immunity, we will push you to the win.
31:19I'm not even asking you to give it to me.
31:21I'm just saying don't give it to her.
31:23Don't give it to Bex.
31:25Yeah.
31:27Why would you help her? She's done nothing.
31:35Time's up for round four.
31:37Here are the results.
31:39The crocodile moves one space.
31:45The crocodile also moves a further two spaces.
31:49And the lion moves three spaces.
32:00So the lion is still out in front,
32:02but after four rounds, the giraffe and the flamingo have only moved one space.
32:07We will now begin round five.
32:09Bex will be the final player this round, as she abstained in round four.
32:13India, please pick your poor tokens.
32:16I abstain.
32:18Thank you, India.
32:22We saw Bedalia's lion was going ahead quite quickly,
32:26so as a group, we're deciding that we're going to allow him to win.
32:29We need to make sure Flamingo and the giraffe come last.
32:32That's the only way we all survive.
32:34Yeah, so they know, Ben's like,
32:36Ken is playing this, so that India is going to win.
32:41So that India and Ben come last.
32:45I'm not targeting anyone, I'm just helping us four.
32:48I think Ben is super frightened to go in that death match.
32:52He's been trying to avoid that death match, like the plague.
32:59Move elephant, yeah.
33:01Put giraffe in one, and crocodile can go one as well.
33:04I think this is two. Yeah.
33:06Two. Yeah.
33:08I'm taking advantage of the fact that me and you are not as on it as Ken.
33:13Ben's trying to, like, psych you out.
33:15If you get caught up in that mix, we need to break that mix up,
33:19because they are three powerhouses.
33:21They need to be broken apart, and we need you for that.
33:24If no-one else wants Flamingo, it's not going to get anywhere.
33:28Like, look at my two, they're last.
33:39Do we think any of them have crocodile?
33:41No, we know they don't have crocodile, but we're listening.
33:44Their ideal outcome is everything except the Flamingo.
33:49Are you Flamingo? Yeah, I'm Flamingo, I'm the loser.
33:52I'm the big loser of this game.
33:54I don't want you to go out. I don't want you to go out.
33:57If there's multiple losers, can you consider saving me from the death match?
34:01I'd really appreciate that. If there's multiple losers?
34:04I'm Mr Popular.
34:06Everyone wants to have their one-on-one chats with me,
34:09to know that they're secure, but...
34:12nobody is secure.
34:14I haven't won yet, so it's not my place to make that decision.
34:17I don't want to. And your token of immunity?
34:20Go to Bex. That's settled.
34:23I mean, she supported me, like, two, three days in a row.
34:27You were in the death match yesterday. She wasn't supporting you.
34:30Was she not?
34:37I don't know who I would take to the death match.
34:39I'll make that decision when the time comes.
34:41It depends on how angry I am.
34:44We'll see.
34:51Bex?
34:53Might as well put that in there.
34:55Yeah, just for ease of mind.
34:57So we could move Crocodile instead of Lion,
35:00but if we put a Giraffe in there, then Crocodile will move instead.
35:05And one in here. Where? Here? Here?
35:07Yeah, that's fine. And then we've...
35:09Flamingo, where do you want Flamingo? In there?
35:12Oh, it doesn't matter, does it?
35:18The round is over.
35:20Here are the results.
35:22As the Lion and the Giraffe are tied,
35:24the Crocodile will move one space.
35:28The Zebra will move two spaces.
35:34And the Elephant will move three spaces.
35:44After round five, Bedalia and Charlotte's Lion is in the lead.
35:47However, Bedalia also has the Elephant he is supporting with Alison
35:51in joint second place.
35:53The Flamingo and the Giraffe have still only moved one space.
35:57That's stressful cos I can't do anything to change it.
36:00Let's go. Let's go. Oh, yeah.
36:02I feel like it's going downhill.
36:04And I feel like I've disappointed India.
36:07It's just really, like, frustrating cos I can't, like,
36:10do anything at the moment.
36:14It was all about picking a stupid animal.
36:18And she just picked one that was very unlucky.
36:22I picked one that someone else picked.
36:24I picked one that someone else had picked,
36:26so why didn't I spot it and say to her,
36:28you need to pick one that they've picked?
36:30What a mess!
36:45Obviously, Ben's talking to Bedalia.
36:48It's just frustrating cos I can't really do anything
36:50and I'm just going to have to pick between Ken and Alison.
36:55It's just frustrating when I know there's nothing I can really do now.
36:58I've just got to, like, I'm going to go through the day.
37:01I can't really do anything to put myself in an OK position.
37:08If you win and there are multiple people tied with zero points,
37:12which is looking like me and Indy,
37:14you get to choose the person who goes to the death match.
37:17All I'm asking, I will help your lion and your elephant win
37:20so that you can win.
37:22If you're tied, please don't pick me.
37:26But you switched on today.
37:30It's my game, it was my game, you know?
37:32The logic behind the four as opposed to the two and two,
37:35you figured that out instantly.
37:37Also, no-one wanted to work with Ben.
37:40He wants my strategy and his...
37:42Is it private?
37:44Semi, semi, maybe, like, two minutes.
37:47Yeah. Thank you.
37:50I think, yeah, like, I'm sorry, we've ended up on other sides.
37:53Then I apologise, because I may have said something,
37:55like, you grabbed the people that were the most naive, like...
37:58No, I mean, I think we've ended up on the other sides of things
38:01and I think that is just because we're too similar.
38:04Charlotte has said that she thought I was grabbing naive people,
38:07which I think is really insulting to those people,
38:10but I think everyone is playing a great game
38:12and anyone is capable of winning this.
38:15Time for your next round,
38:17in which Indy will be the final player to place her tokens.
38:21Bedalia, please select your four tokens.
38:24Can I abstain, please?
38:26Thank you, Bedalia.
38:28Charlotte? Yep. Please select your tokens.
38:37They have total control of the board.
38:39Ken's controlled the whole game, he understood that.
38:42Once you get four people, you can block out the others.
38:45It's just devastating.
38:51I feel very confident because I've been more assertive today
38:54in the main match, whereas other games I've sat back
38:56and let other people dictate the strategy.
38:58But this is a game that paid off, it just worked perfectly,
39:01there was nothing they could do.
39:03It was in line and three.
39:05Line and two, so just move three and two.
39:07And it finishes the game. OK.
39:09We're just finishing, that's the only way to finish the game.
39:12The decision was made to just push the line over the line
39:14to really put the other team out of their misery.
39:19Are you OK? Sure.
39:24What would you guys like me to do with these?
39:26Just put them all in one, I think, and it will just end.
39:29If that's OK with you. Yeah, that's fine.
39:39Thank you, India.
39:45At the end of round six, the elephant moves one space.
39:51The lion will move two spaces.
39:58And then a further three spaces.
40:04Meaning the lion has won the race.
40:07The elephant is second and the crocodile is third.
40:11Players, the game is now over. Thank you for playing.
40:14The results for the final round are...
40:18Bedalia gained the most points after his lion won.
40:21His elephant came second and he received a bonus point
40:24for supporting two animals in the top three.
40:30So I'm feeling good about winning.
40:32Not the elephant, but the crocodile.
40:34I'm feeling good about winning.
40:36I'm feeling good about winning.
40:38I'm feeling good about winning.
40:40Not feeling good about having to pick someone to lose.
40:43I didn't want that to be a decision I had to make.
40:46However, Ben and Indy failed to gain a single point.
40:51As there are joint losers, the winner of the main match
40:54gets to decide who is the deathmatch candidate.
40:58The hardest part is when people turn on the tears,
41:02because that's when it gets challenging
41:05and you stop seeing them as players that you're playing against,
41:10but as people you're hurting by the decision that you're making.
41:20I'm picking Indy of the deathmatch...
41:25..just because Ben has been there for me in previous games.
41:29I want you to stay in, but I can't do it. OK.
41:32Ben, thank you for supporting me. I do understand.
41:40As the winner of the main match,
41:42Bedalia has gained two tokens of life and five garnet.
41:49Bedalia, please decide who you will give your token of life to.
41:54I'm picking...
41:57..Bex.
41:59Thanks, Bedalia. You've had my back.
42:01Can you give us a hug? Thank you. You can trust me.
42:04Funny how two games ago, I gave Bedalia a token of life.
42:09So I don't know if he genuinely believes
42:11that I haven't been playing the game with him,
42:14or if he's just convincing himself of that
42:17so he doesn't feel so guilty about it.
42:19Indy, please pick someone to join you in the deathmatch
42:22who does not have a token of life.
42:26I'm just really torn, because, essentially,
42:28I'm only really looking at four of you. Yep.
42:31And I'm not picking Charlotte, because...
42:35You're besties. We're besties.
42:38And also, I think you're going to be really, really close.
42:42I'm going to be really, really close.
42:45And also, I think you're going to be really, really strong.
42:49And I've seen you win, Ken, and I've seen you win, Alison,
42:53and I thought I would never pick you.
42:55As in, like, when we were talking,
42:57it didn't even cross my mind that we'd pick each other.
43:00But I'm putting myself in your shoes,
43:02and I actually think if you had been the deathmatch candidate,
43:05I do think you would have chosen me in this situation.
43:08I would have picked Ken.
43:11But I genuinely would not have picked you.
43:13I would have picked Ken,
43:15because I don't like the way the game went today.
43:18I actually have no idea what to do.
43:22Feeling OK?
43:24I'm going to fight like hell.
43:27Ben, what didn't you like about the way I played this game?
43:31Well...
43:34I think that your strategy today was really calculated
43:37in terms of who you worked with.
43:39It wasn't. It wasn't. I don't know why you think that, because...
43:42No. I was there. All of us decided it wasn't us two gravitated together.
43:46I think if it was me, I would be picking Ben.
43:50He cracks under pressure.
43:52Having to choose between picking Alison and Ben for the deathmatch...
43:57They're both really strong players who I wouldn't have ordinarily chosen
44:00had I had other options.
44:02Indy, the time has come. Please make your decision.
44:05When I'm really close with both of you, it's horrible.
44:08Ben.
44:23I'm so sorry, Alison. I think I'm going to have to take you to the deathmatch.
44:27That's OK.
44:29No hard feelings at all. You've got a good chance of winning,
44:32and if somebody's won, then the other person...
44:35..is dead.
44:41It's time for your deathmatch, black and white.
44:44Which sounds simple, but you've been on this show long enough to know
44:47it won't be.
44:49It's probably going to be really, really stressful. Sorry.
44:54In this game, you must tactically place numbered tiles to earn points.
44:59In each round, the player who places the higher number wins.
45:03Each player receives a set of nine tiles, numbered 0 to 8.
45:08The nine tiles are divided into black and white colours.
45:11The even numbers are black and the odd numbers are white.
45:16The starting player will choose a number and place it face down
45:19in front of the dealer.
45:21Their opponent will then place their numbered tile.
45:24The player who puts out the higher number will win the round and a point.
45:28Players' numbers will not be revealed, even after the result is decided.
45:32Using the numbers you chose and the black and white tiles as hints,
45:36you must play by judging what tiles your opponent has left.
45:40The player with the most points after nine rounds will be the winner.
45:43The loser will be eliminated.
45:45The deathmatch will begin shortly.
45:50Oh, it's a tricky one. Tricky game.
45:52You have a fantastic memory, so...
45:55Have you played a game like this before, either of you?
45:58Not this. I haven't.
46:00Alison will probably have an edge because it is about memory,
46:04but I'm definitely feeling better.
46:07Now I've seen what the deathmatch is.
46:09When they say they give the score after every round...
46:12One point. But they don't say who it's to?
46:14No, they will, but you won't know what Indy's put down.
46:18I think Indy's really clever and she's also a bit of an unknown quantity, so...
46:23I'm up for a bit of a battle.
46:27You don't want to be wasting big numbers against little numbers.
46:31You have to keep track.
46:33There's a chance you can just play 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 as your five first moves
46:37and just win every single one.
46:39If she doesn't get wind of that,
46:41that is the most simple pre-strategy that you could do,
46:44if you get to five points.
46:46I think for the first few rounds,
46:48just getting the most information is the best way to go about it.
46:51So if she plays white, I'm guessing she's playing 3 or 5.
46:55Right. I go 4.
46:57And then I can basically rule out whether or not the 3 or the 5 is gone.
47:01You don't want to have a completely restricted range of numbers left in your hand.
47:05You want to have the option to play a low, a middle or a high.
47:08Because if it looks like she would be going for a win,
47:11if it really looks like she wants to win, you play your lowest number.
47:14Exactly. You feel comfortable at a poker table, right?
47:17That's where you feel confident and I would channel that exact same energy.
47:22MUSIC
47:28Good luck. Good luck.
47:32I think she seems quite composed. I think she'll be a challenge.
47:36Ooh! I'm nervous.
47:39The deathmatch will now begin.
47:44I'm a stronger player than I had imagined to be.
47:48I really want to win.
48:02India, please turn your back.
48:05Alison, you may shuffle your tiles.
48:08India, you may now turn around.
48:10You may shuffle your tiles.
48:12So I did start off just kind of randomly shuffling it
48:16and then I had seen what Alison had done,
48:19which was to arrange it in colour order
48:21and I thought, actually, you know what,
48:23it will probably just make it easier for myself.
48:25Alison, you may turn around. Thank you.
48:31India, you may shuffle your tiles.
48:38MUSIC
48:45Alison, please place your first tile.
48:58Oh, she's so cool as a cucumber in a chair.
49:01She genuinely is.
49:04Looking up and kind of meeting Alison's gaze,
49:07which is quite, yeah, quite nerve-wracking.
49:10India, please place your tile.
49:17Her strategy was to play five anyway if she plays a black.
49:30She's deviated.
49:32She's deviated. I think she overthought it.
49:34She didn't overthink it. She should have stuck with her plan.
49:37Alison wins one point.
49:40She played a white tile.
49:42I won, so I know that either her one or her three has gone.
49:47Alison, as you won the previous round,
49:49you'll present your tile first in this round.
49:52I will assume that India doesn't want to go 2-0 down.
49:57I think she's going to play a strong tile,
50:00so I might as well throw away something
50:02that's going to make me lose anyway.
50:04Yeah, I knew she'd do that, get the zero out.
50:19Oh, no!
50:23That was too high.
50:25India wins one point.
50:31Please present your next tile.
50:43No, she played a black.
50:45I think she assumed it was a four.
50:48Alison wins one point.
50:52Alison is literally just staring at me the whole time.
50:56I have no idea where to look.
50:58I have no idea where to look.
51:09Yes, I thought she would. I thought she would.
51:12India wins one point.
51:24Oh, my God.
51:26No!
51:28Alison wins one point.
51:33These are such huge swings.
51:35I've never seen the wins and losses like this.
51:37I can't watch. I can't watch. I can't watch. I can't watch.
51:42Alison, please present your tile.
51:49I actually have realised that I've lost track of what Alison could have.
51:57That's big. She's on four now.
52:01Alison wins one point.
52:06She's fidgeting a bit and possibly looking a little bit uncomfortable.
52:21She's going to play her low white.
52:23India's going to play the eight and get out.
52:25Come on, India, don't do it.
52:27She's going to think it's seven.
52:29Now it's a four-two, I'm thinking, OK,
52:31I've kind of got to win quite a few in a row
52:34to kind of get me out of this.
52:36She can win.
52:38India has to have a seven.
52:40She's got to play the eight.
52:42India wins one point.
52:45My only decision, really, is,
52:47do I reckon that she's going to play her highest remaining one first
52:52or her highest remaining one second?
53:07India wins one point.
53:10India wins one point.
53:21India, please present your tile.
53:29Alison, please present your tile.
53:39I will now reveal your final tiles.
54:04Well done. Good game.
54:06The game is now over.
54:08You've played your numbers and, Alison,
54:10you are the winner of the death match
54:12and you have made it through to the next day.
54:15If you'd played a seven, we'd have had another round,
54:18wouldn't we?
54:20Yeah. So I had to be sure.
54:24I'm now in quite a good position to get through tomorrow
54:28and then onwards and upwards, hopefully.
54:30I could not keep eye contact with you.
54:32It was, like, piercing.
54:34Sorry. No, it's incredible.
54:36That's not the friendliest expression.
54:38I don't know how old India is,
54:40but the stair works well on the kids, by the way.
54:44That was also a fun death match, too.
54:46Yeah, thank you very much. That was a good game.
54:48You're going to be massively missed cos you're such a huge character.
54:51I will miss you guys.
54:52My mum is going to be so happy.
54:54My dad's going to love watching this.
54:56So, yeah, I'm just thrilled to have gotten this far.
54:59The game is kind of forcing each of us to act in ways
55:02you'd never dream of acting in the outside world.
55:05I do think that when people are playing games
55:07where the stakes are high,
55:09you will see people's true colours coming out.
55:12Indy, you have been the fifth person
55:14to be eliminated from Genius Game.
55:16Please give your garnets to your opponent.
55:19There you go. Thank you.
55:21Thank you for playing.
55:23Bye, India. Goodbye, guys.
55:25Bye, guys. Bye.
55:31Wow. Wow, did not expect...
55:33No, no, no...
55:36And the rest of you, goodbye, goodnight, farewell, adieu.
55:41I'll see you next time.
55:43It's tough, this game. It's getting tougher and tougher.
55:46I'm going to miss her, but the show must go on.
55:49The only thing that really matters is to win the game.
55:56Next time on Genius Game...
55:58Welcome to Final Six.
56:00Love it.
56:01Rise above confusion and chaos.
56:03Diamond dilemma.
56:05Do you know what I'm meant to do?
56:07Wait till the last moment to betray your team.
56:09What?
56:10The truth is tested like never before.
56:12No-one here believes that you've meant it.
56:14I swear my life.
56:16We have to prepare ourselves mentally.
56:18The plot's really dust-thickened.
56:20Is there anything I can do to swear that decision?
56:22That choice has been made.
56:24As the final edge is closer, who will survive?
56:27Game over.
56:28Will you be able to handle the pressure?
