00:00Our family had known riches. Now, we knew only the gnawing ache of poverty. And I was the one
00:09who kept starvation from the door. Fairies. Monsters from the tails meant to scare children.
00:15But we knew the tails were true. We hated them for the pain they'd inflicted on humans for
00:20centuries. An ash arrow. Expensive. Deadly. Especially to a fairy if this wolf was one
00:27in disguise. A risk I had to take. Murderer. You killed one of my own. A fairy slain by
00:37human hands. He was hunting my kill. His name was Andras. And the treaty between our realms
00:43demands a life for a life. I offer you a choice, mortal. Your death now. Or a life spent in
00:48Prithian, the Fairylands. Forever. I will go with you.
00:52This is the Spring Court. You will want for nothing. Except my freedom. You are here
01:00as payment. Nothing more. Alice will see to your needs.
01:06Prithian was a contradiction. Beautiful yet full of shadows. The fairies, once monsters
01:12of my nightmares, became... individuals.
01:14Fairies and Tamlin walk through the moonlit gardens. The romantic tension is palpable.
01:23He has been kind, surprisingly gentle. Tamlin's voice comes through. You paint what you feel.
01:29It's... remarkable. Fairies responds. It's just... color. Tamlin insists. It's more. Your family
01:38is safe. I've seen to it. They are provided for. Fairies stops, surprised and touched, and asks,
01:44why? Tamlin replies, because their suffering was not part of the bargain. He reaches out as if to
01:50touch her cheek, then hesitates. Inside the Spring Court study, a storm rages outside.
01:59Tamlin is agitated, with Lucian standing grimly beside him. Lucian says,
02:03Rhysand was here. He knows about her. Tamlin, slamming a fist on the table, declares,
02:08she's not safe. Not anymore. The blight. It grows worse.
02:12Fairies enters and asks, what's wrong? Tamlin, his voice strained, says,
02:18you must leave Prithian. I'm sending you home. Fairies protests, no, I... I don't want to go.
02:25The admission hangs in the air. That night, their unspoken feelings culminate in a passionate
02:30encounter. In Fairies' chambers, pre-dawn, they lie together. Tamlin whispers, I love you, Fair.
02:36Fair. Fair's heart aches. She feels it too, a love she never expected. But fear and the deeply
02:43ingrained hatred of Fairies holds her tongue. She says nothing. Tamlin's masked face seems to fall,
02:49though it's hard to tell.
02:54Fair returns to the human realm, only to find her family's cottage replaced by a comfortable,
02:59prosperous home. Her father and sister are well-dressed and happy, but their eyes have a glazed,
03:04distant look. Father Fair, you're back. Aunt Allara is well, then? Glamored. They remembered
03:11nothing of Prithian, nothing of her sacrifice, only a convenient fiction. Later, Nesta approaches Fair,
03:18her eyes sharp and clear. Nesta, the glamour didn't take on me. I know where you were. I tried to follow.
03:25The wall. It wouldn't let me pass. Father never fought for mother. He didn't fight for you.
03:30Some of us have to. Nesta's words, her anger, ignite something in Fair. A resolve. She was right.
03:38Fair hadn't fought hard enough for Tamlin. For them. She had to go back. Determined,
03:43Fair heads towards the invisible wall between realms.
03:48The spring court is in ruins. Vines crawl over shattered windows and the gardens are overgrown
03:54and dead. Alice is the only one there, her mask askew, despair in her eyes. Alice. Fair. You came
04:01back. Fair. Alice. What happened? The blight. Alice. The blight. It was never a sickness. It was a lie.
04:10A euphemism for her. Amarantha. The High Queen. She conquered Prithian. Stole the High Lord's powers.
04:17She cursed Tamlin. Fair. Cursed him? How? Alice? Only a human woman, one who truly hated fairies,
04:24could break it. By speaking her love for him aloud. Uncoerced. You... You never said it,
04:30did you? Fair flinches. The memory of her silence burning her. Alice. The curse prevented us from
04:36telling you the truth. The masks. The secrecy. All to hide it from Amarantha. She's relaxed some of it
04:43now. She thinks she's won. But there's still one thing I cannot say. Tamlin, Lucian. She has them.
04:50Under the mountain. Fair. Then that's where I'm going.
04:57In Amarantha's court, a vast, opulent, yet terrifying cavern. Cruel laughter and the sound
05:03of clinking chains fill the air. Amarantha, beautiful and cruel, sits on a throne of bone.
05:09Tamlin and Lucian are chained nearby, looking broken. Fair is dragged before her. Amarantha,
05:15the mortal who dared love my pet. You have a chance to save him, little huntress. Three tasks,
05:20or solve my riddle. Succeed, and he's free. Fail, and you all die.
05:27In the dark, twisting labyrinth, Fair relies solely on her wits. The sound of something huge,
05:33slithering, fills the air. Suddenly, a giant worm bursts from the earth. Fairies watch from above,
05:39placing bets. Only one fairy, Rhysand, darkly handsome and powerful with an air of dangerous
05:45amusement, bets on Fair. Using her hunting skills, agility, and cunning, Fair evades the worm and
05:51tricks it into collapsing part of the tunnel on itself. She emerges, battered, with a broken arm.
05:57Rhysand descends, a smirk on his face. With a touch of dark magic, he effortlessly heals her arm.
06:03Rhysand. Impressive. You owe me for that. A week with me at the night court. Every month.
06:09Agreed. Desperate and seeing no choice, Fair nods. Fair. Agreed.
06:17For her second task, Fair faces a complex puzzle of levers in Amarantha's court.
06:22Nearby, Lucienne is strapped to a device. The wrong choice means impalement for them both.
06:27Struggling, sweat beads on her forehead. Suddenly, she hears Rhysand's whisper in her mind.
06:33Rhysand. Vio. The third lever from the left, Fair. Trust me. Startled,
06:37Fair looks towards Rhysand, who watches impassively from the crowd. She pulls the lever.
06:43It's correct. Lucienne is safe. Later, Rhysand parades Fair at Amarantha's debauched parties,
06:49his escort. He's a confusing mix of cruelty and subtle help.
06:53For the third task, Amarantha presents Fair with three ashwood daggers. The sound of a hushed,
07:02expectant crowd fills the arena. Amarantha. Vio. Three fairies. Three hearts. For your love.
07:08Horrified, Fair knows it's the only way. Trembling, she stabs the first hooded fairy.
07:13Then the second. Guilt eats at her.
07:20In this chapter, we delve into the profound themes of love and rebirth.
07:25Love, a force that binds us, and rebirth, a chance to start anew.
07:30As we explore these themes, we'll see how they intertwine and shape the journey ahead.
07:35So let's embark on this exploration together, and discover the power of love and the promise of rebirth.
07:41The third hooded figure is brought forward. Smaller. The hood is removed. It's Tamlin.
07:50Fair gasps. Amarantha smiles cruelly. Kill him, mortal, or the curse holds.
07:56Fair's mind races. She remembers snippets of conversation.
08:00Lucien mentioning Tamlin's heart of stone. Alice saying something similar.
08:04A heart of stone. Literally. Could it be?
08:08Amarantha wanted him. She wouldn't let him truly die.
08:12With a desperate cry, knowing Amarantha desires Tamlin for herself, and wouldn't want him truly dead,
08:18Fair plunges the dagger into Tamlin's chest.
08:21It meets resistance. A dull thud. Not flesh.
08:25He doesn't bleed. He only looks at her with shocked, pained eyes.
08:29Fair was right.
08:30A technicality. You didn't truly kill him. The curse remains.
08:38Amarantha, in a terrifying rage, descends upon Fair, beating her viciously.
08:42Fair is broken, bleeding, dying.
08:44As darkness encroaches, Amarantha's riddle echoes in her mind.
08:48What is always spoken in silence but cannot be heard?
08:50What is given freely, yet often taken for granted?
08:53What can break a heart, yet also mend it whole?
08:56Fair's eyes widen in sudden, final clarity.
09:00Love. With her word, a shockwave of power ripples through the court.
09:04The curse shatters. Fair collapses, lifeless.
09:10With the curse broken, Tamlin roars, his power surging back.
09:14Rhysand, no longer constrained, joins him.
09:16Together, their combined magic is devastating.
09:19They obliterate Amarantha in a torrent of light and shadow.
09:22Silence.
09:23Tamlin rushes to Fair's body, cradling her.
09:26No. Fair.
09:28One by one, the other High Lords of Prithian step forward.
09:32Each sends a stream of healing light, their own essence, into Fair.
09:36Rhysand is among them, his expression unreadable, but intense.
09:41Finally, Tamlin, tears streaming down his masked face,
09:44channels a piece of his own golden light, placing it gently over her heart.
09:49Fair gasps, her eyes flying open.
09:51She is changing, transforming.
09:53Her wounds heal.
09:54Her body shimmers.
09:56She is reborn, no longer human, but High Fae.
10:02The spring court is slowly healing, roses beginning to bloom amidst the ruins.
10:07Fair stands beside Tamlin.
10:09Her features are subtly sharper, more ethereal.
10:12She touches her chest, feeling the new, steady beat of an immortal heart.
10:17Tamlin gently removes his mask, revealing a handsome, sorrowful face.
10:22He then removes hers.
10:23They are free.
10:24But Fair looks at her new Fae hands.
10:27The curse was broken.
10:29Tamlin was free.
10:30I was... changed.
10:32But the cost had been steep.
10:33The lives I'd taken.
10:35The blood on my hands.
10:36Even immortality couldn't wash that away.
10:39This was a new beginning.
10:40But the shadows of the past would always linger.
10:44Fair looks towards the horizon.
10:46A complex mix of love, grief, and uncertain strength in her eyes.
