Speaking to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey, President Trump said he'll move the EU tariff deadline to July 9, following his call with EU President Ursula Van der Leyen.

00:03Did you discuss the 50 percent tariffs?
00:05And did you agree to produce those?
00:08The President": She just called me, as you know.
00:10And she asked for an extension on the June 1st date.
00:13And she said she wants to get down to serious negotiation
00:17because I've told you specifically.
00:20I've told anybody that would listen.
00:23They have to do that.
00:24And we had a very nice call, and I agreed to move it,
00:27I believe June 9th would be — July 9th would be the date.
00:31That was the date she requested.
00:32Could we move it from June 1st to July 9th?
00:35And I agreed to do that.
00:36And that — she said, we will rapidly get together
00:39and see if we can work something out.
