00:12Trump hit pause on planned tariffs targeting EU imports, easing investor jitters and fueling
00:17risk appetite. The TSX index was up 0.8% as of 5.42 Eastern Time, the venture sticks on 11
00:23points, and futures of the Dow in the Nasdaq both hoisted over 1% to kick off the day.
00:28Into headlines where four ex-Volkswagen executives have been convicted of fraud over the Dieselgate
00:33scandal, nearly a decade after the emissions cheating came to light.
00:37And the OECD flags Canada's economic growth at risk, calling out weak productivity and
00:41sky-high housing prices as major hurdles.
00:44Tipping over to currency futures where the Canadian dollar faded close to 0.25% to US$0.73,
00:50still increasing against the Euro and Bitcoin sheds over 300 points.
00:54And let's finish off with commodity futures where copper pokes close to 1%, gold slips
00:58down 1.5%, WTI still holding at US$61 a barrel, and natural gas just keeps climbing, showing
