00:06Canada's main stock index jumped on Tuesday, defying Wall Street's lead after a strong rally the day before,

00:12which was driven by a US-China trade truce.

00:15Investors reacted to US inflation data, showing a 2.3 annual rise in April,

00:20slightly below expectations, while core inflation held steady at 2.8%.

00:26The TSX rose 84 points, while the Venture lost 9.

00:31The Dow lost 270 points, while the Nasdaq added nearly 330.

00:40The top gaining stocks of the day saw MoGo up 57% on news that its portfolio company, WonderFi,

00:47was up 35%, will be acquired by Robinhood Markets.

00:51Sullivan Mining was up 33%.

00:56The biggest declining stocks of the day were Bengal Energy down 33%,

01:03Equipped Home Medical lost 23%,

01:05and Agronym Acquisition Corp gave up 16%.
