00:09Not long after, cement begins pouring down on her from all angles.
00:13The little girl cannot go anywhere else, she is buried alive.

00:19A young engineer, Sam, has just graduated from college.
00:22At her graduation party, her father, an owner of a demolition company,
00:26gives her a gift, a job supervising the demolition of a building in the middle of nowhere.
00:31If she's successful, she will become his partner.
00:34Her first assignment happens to be this gigantic unique architectural structure,
00:38an apartment building, located out in the middle of nowhere.
00:42The structure is the product of Joseph Malastraza,
00:44who was an eccentric architect obsessed with Egyptian architecture.
00:48Samantha arrives at the Malastraza building and is greeted by Mary, the caretaker.
00:53She lives with her son, Jimmy, who is a loner kid.
00:56Sam tells Mary she will be staying in one of the apartments in the building.
01:00Jimmy takes her bags to her apartment and explains the rules of the building.
01:04She is to stay off the 8th floor because it is Malastraza's and the roof because it is too dangerous.
01:09As she is walking to her room, she sees a room labeled as Julie's.
01:13She then enters her room, and immediately takes a bath to clean herself up.
01:17Later that day, she meets Mary and asks her,
01:19how many people still live in this apartment?
01:22Mary replies that only four people live in it.
01:24Mary and Jimmy are in the building to look after it until its day of destruction.
01:29All the other tenants have been evicted, but two have refused to leave.
01:33The next day, Sam prepares to analyze the structure of the building.
01:37Sam is in charge of providing a report on how much TNT is needed to knock down this building.
01:41She must determine the best rupture points and type of explosives.
01:44A few hours later, she goes to a mini-market to buy some food and drinks.
01:49Out of curiosity, she borrows a computer to browse the history of the apartment building.
01:54She discovers that in 1993, there were a series of missing people.
01:58When they were finally found, it was horrific.
02:01Sixteen people, men, women, and children, were sealed in small compartments in the building,
02:06which were then filled with liquid concrete.
02:08One of the victims was the architect himself Malastraza.
02:12A construction worker was initially blamed for the murders, but then found innocent,
02:16leaving the crimes unsolved, and the murderer unknown.
02:19Back at the building, Sam again marks the best rupture points to knock down the building,
02:23but she is surprised when a man runs towards her carrying an axe.
02:27It turns out that this man is one of the tenants who still lives in this building and refuses to leave.
02:31And he is unhappy about the destruction of the building.
02:35At night, Jimmy secretly takes Sam to the eighth floor, the forbidden floor.
02:39Jimmy tells Sam about Malastraza, the architect of the building, who died inside the wall.
02:44He enters a room and shows her the wall where Malastraza's body was found.
02:48When his body was found, his face was almost ripped off because of the cement.
02:52His face was no longer recognizable.
02:55His mother, Mary, was the one who finally managed to identify him.
02:59Jimmy also informs her that out of the 16 victims, there was a small child named Julie.
03:04She was the child shown at the beginning of the film.
03:07She was also the child living in the room Sam saw before.
03:10Furthermore, Jimmy tells her that his father was also one of the victims.
03:14He then proceeds to show her the wall where his father was found.
03:17The lights go out, and Sam cuts her leg after panicking in the darkness.
03:21Later, Jimmy washes her wound and begins to caress her thigh.
03:24It becomes obvious that the young guy fancies her, and he tries to make a move on her, but
03:29she tells him to stop.
03:31In the evening, Sam, who is looking in the mirror, sees the glass behind her shaking violently.
03:37She lifts the mirror and sees blood flowing out of the hole.
03:40Suddenly, Sam is immediately pulled into the wall, and she wakes up realizing that she is
03:45now trapped inside.
03:46A moment later, cement begins pouring down on her from all angles.
03:50She cannot go anywhere else.
03:52As she starts screaming, she wakes up from her sleep.
03:55It turns out to be a nightmare.
03:57As she can no longer sleep, she wanders around her apartment.
04:01Suddenly, something appears right in front of her, shocking her.
04:04However, it's just her boyfriend, Peter, who wants to give her a surprise.
04:09Sam takes Peter to look around the apartment.
04:11They secretly go to the 8th floor.
04:13While exploring the 8th floor, Sam and her boyfriend discover a secret passageway on the
04:17floor.
04:18Sam goes down it, and she discovers a secret room.
04:21This room would allow someone to view any of the apartment secretly.
04:25Sam realizes that Jimmy has been spying on her while she's taking a bath.
04:30She talks to Mary about it, and Jimmy, who feels embarrassed, walks away.
04:35Later that evening, Peter thinks that Sam should leave tomorrow, and she agrees with him.
04:40As Peter and Sam spend their time together that night, Jimmy grows jealous of them.
04:44The following day, Sam packs her clothes to leave the apartment.
04:47She also prepares a report on how much TNT is needed to knock down this building.
04:52Before parting, Jimmy apologizes to Sam for spying on her.
04:56He then gives a gift to Sam.
04:58He gives Sam a copy of the journal of Malastraza, the building's architect.
05:02Sam realizes from reading the journal that there must be a large, open space in the center
05:06of the building.
05:08Jimmy goes to the roof to look for an opening to the hidden space.
05:10However, he does not return.
05:13Sam and her boyfriend follow to look for Jimmy.
05:16They discover a massive shaft in the center of the building.
05:19They hear Jimmy calling from down in the shaft, saying that he is hurt.
05:23Sam has her boyfriend lower her into the shaft on a rope.
05:26At first, everything goes smoothly, without any problems at all.
05:30But suddenly, Peter is shot by someone with sharp iron.
05:33As a result, Peter dies bleeding in front of his girlfriend, who's shocked seeing this.
05:38Sam falls to the bottom.
05:40Sam awakens at the bottom of the shaft.
05:42Surprisingly, she is not alone there.
05:45There is a mysterious person.
05:46To her surprise, that mysterious man is Malastraza, the architect, who she thought has been dead
05:51and tombed in the wall.
05:53It turns out that he has been trapped there this whole time.
05:56Malastraza is holding a radio.
05:58In the radio recording, there is Jimmy's voice asking for help.
06:01In other words, the voice that Sam heard earlier is pre-recorded by Jimmy himself.
06:06Shortly, Jimmy sends her a letter from above.
06:08In the letter, it is written that Jimmy is keeping her down there until she learns to
06:12love him.
06:14Jimmy then mails Sam's demolition report to her father and sinks her car into a lake.
06:19This is all done to create the perception that Sam hasn't returned home because she
06:22goes on vacation with her boyfriend.
06:25Back in the shaft, Malastraza tells her a shocking revelation.
06:29He reveals that he was the mastermind behind the murders of 16 people, who were found entombed
06:33in the wall.
06:34Malastraza believes that the secret to the longevity of ancient Egyptian monuments is
06:39that they conducted rituals during construction that involved burying living victims inside
06:43the walls.
06:44He wants his buildings to last forever, so he buried people alive inside its walls.
06:49He further reveals that one of the victims was Mary's husband.
06:52So, as an act of revenge, Mary decides to keep Malastraza locked up in the shaft, forever
06:57as a prisoner.
06:58Mary also fooled everybody by identifying other victims' body as Malastraza's.
07:03Everyone believed that lie and thought that Malastraza had died, so that she can keep Malastraza
07:08herself as her prisoner.
07:10After this shocking revelation, Jimmy is back at the hole and sends down a cassette tape.
07:15Malastraza plays the tape, and Jimmy says that he wants to see Sam and Malastraza dance.
07:20Malastraza tells her that they need to obey Jimmy's order.
07:23If they do what Jimmy wants, Jimmy is nice, but can be very cruel and imaginative if they
07:28disobey Jimmy's orders.
07:30So, Sam agrees to dance.
07:32But, when Jimmy tells them to kiss, she refuses.
07:36Malastraza pulls her close and forces her to kiss him.
07:39After a few seconds, Jimmy tells them to stop and threatens Malastraza not to touch Sam again.
07:44As a gift for their obedience, Jimmy sends down a basket with food, water, and a two-way
07:49radio.
07:50He tells Sam to keep the radio with her so that they can talk and be close.
07:54Later that night, Mary comes to the roof.
07:57Sam immediately screams to get help from Mary.
08:00Mary is very surprised to see Sam in the hole with Malastraza.
08:03Mary angrily tells Jimmy that the place was for the architect, not for anyone else.
08:08She realizes that Sam must stay in the hole with Malastraza, or else she'll report this
08:13incident to the police, and they'll take Mary away, and Jimmy will be an orphan.
08:16In the afternoon, Sam's father and his demolition team, who have received Sam's report, arrive
08:22at this apartment.
08:24They begin to set up the explosives.
08:26Elsewhere, Sam is still stuck in the hole with Malastraza.
08:29Sam continues to seduce Jimmy hoping that he will free her and save her from the explosion.
08:34However, her effort is unsuccessful.
08:37Seeing this, Malastraza tells her to save her energy.
08:40Malastraza then digs a tomb that he has designed with several pipes connected to the cement tank.
08:45Malastraza believes that when the detonation team tries to knock this building down, it
08:49will not be destroyed if an additional person is buried alive.
08:52He decides to sacrifice himself to save this building.
08:56He then asks Sam to kill him.
08:58She eventually does kill him after some taunting, and he thanks her after he falls into his
09:02tomb, and it begins to fill with cement.
09:05Meanwhile, outside the building, Mary is keeping Jimmy calm as they set up and begin to install
09:10the explosives.
09:11As the countdown begins, Jimmy starts to change his mind.
09:15He screams Sam's name and runs toward the building.
09:17Sam's father tells them to stop the countdown.
09:20At the roof, Jimmy looks down, and her father asks what they have done.
09:24Sam is then lifted out of the hole and put in an ambulance.
09:28Mary is arrested as she is involved in the kidnapping of Malastraza.
09:32At the end of the film, Sam narrates that Malastraza built 27 buildings and that they
09:37are all still standing.
09:38He considered this apartment building as his masterpiece.
09:41He didn't want it to be demolished.
09:43He even sacrificed himself to save the building.
09:46So, as a sign of respect, this building will not be demolished and will remain his legacy.
