00:40There's been great anticipation for this game all week.
00:44Bradley Carnell, first-year head coach of the Union.
00:47His starting 11 includes 19-year-old goalkeeper Andrew Rick.
00:51It's a 4-2-2-2 with Nathan Harrell returning to the right-back position.
00:56Lukic and Danley are strong starting central midfield with an attack that includes gold cup-bound Quinn Sullivan and golden boot leader Ty Barribo with Mikael Ua.
01:08They'll form the strike partnership for Philadelphia tonight.
01:11Inter-Miami's had six days to reflect on a humbling rivalry week loss to Orlando City.
01:17Javier Maschidano will stay with goalkeeper Oscar Rustadi as his choice despite a howler last week.
01:24And the only change to the 11, the inclusion of Tomas Aviles at center-back.
01:28Jordi Alba, we're expecting to see, in a more advanced position once again.
01:33When the game begins, we'll see if this really is a 4-4-2.
01:37Messi and Suarez, of course, will lead the Herons' attack.
01:41They meet a Philadelphia team undefeated in its last eight games in all competitions.
01:47And these are the players to watch, presented by RBC Wealth Management, proud partner of Major League Soccer.
01:53Well, for Philadelphia Union, Mikael Ua could well be the match winner tonight.
01:57Inter-Miami have conceded 15 in their last five games,
02:00and so many of their goals have been similar in terms of plays getting behind their defense.
02:04Ua loves nothing more than playing on the shoulder of the last defender and has previous against Miami.
02:09And we'll be hoping for more of the same tonight.
02:11Simplicity will be genius for Union, with Ua running into space.
02:14And if he can be found, then another three points could be on the way.
02:22And as for Inter-Miami, Sergio Busquets is the game controller and problem solver.
02:27Union love chaos and intensity, but in Busquets, Miami have a player who can maintain calm in a storm.
02:33Control is the order of the day, and the ability that Busquets has in knowing when to slow the game down
02:38and when to speed it up, whilst also knowing when to play through the press
02:41and when to play over it is going to be vital if Miami are to get back to winning ways.

02:58it presents a matchup of one club that's exceeded expectations, another that's underwhelmed to this point,
03:05but with a game face this week determined to resurrect the form that made them Supporter Shield champions a year ago.

03:15This is the win probability, which reflects the form of these two teams.
03:23Perhaps when the schedule was announced and you heard about a May 24th Philadelphia-Inter-Miami game,
03:30it wouldn't have surprised you that it would be a meeting of the first and sixth place teams in the Eastern Conference,
03:36except only the smartest of you would have projected Philadelphia to be at the top of the table,
03:42and Miami currently in sixth.
03:44The referee tonight, one of the best in MLS, Drew Fisher, referee of the year in 2024.
03:50The Calgary Alberta native also worked in the VAR room at the World Cup in Qatar.

04:08It was Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez who orchestrated a players-only meeting
04:16at the conclusion of what was a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Orlando City Sunday night.
04:25The worst home defeat for any Messi team since the eight-time Ballon d'Or recipient turned pro
04:31and were underway tonight on a gorgeous May evening at the back of the Delaware River.
04:39In their dark navy blue kit, the home side union is Cittadio Allendo on the ball for Inter-Miami.
04:47They come back with 10 of the 11 who suffered that humbling defeat against the Lions six nights ago.
04:52And I think the first 10-15 minutes of this game are going to tell you a lot about the direction
04:56that it's going to go in.
04:57Mascherano said that this team, in terms of his team, needs to have control
05:01and they want to play out for the black and also play through the press.
05:04We know from Philadelphia Union's side of things that pressing is so intense
05:08and it's who gets on top early on who gets to decide the tempo of the game.
05:12Inter-Miami will want a slow game, whereas for Philadelphia Union, they will want absolute chaos.
05:16And again, it's a change in the center-back tandem for Inter-Miami.
05:20There's been fluctuation there all season.
05:23Lujan and Adilas are the starting tandem tonight as we watch Makanya
05:28making the third start in the past eight days for the Philadelphia Union.
05:37Challenge, middle of the park.
05:39Messi with a touch, but it comes to Jacob Glessness,
05:42the captain of this Philadelphia Union side with Andre Blake once again
05:46sidelined due to injury for a fifth consecutive time.
05:50Lujan makes the safe play, plays it out.
05:52And that's what you'll get a lot of, especially early on in the game.
05:56Glessness just getting the ball there and you see center forwards,
05:58I think both Baribo and Uwe, they will look to split,
06:00look to get down the side to the center-backs whenever they can.
06:04Nathan Harrell, utilized at center-backs so often by Bradley Carnell this season,
06:09sees Danley on the ball and he squares this.

07:05About the Philadelphia Union wanting this game to be as chaotic as possible,
07:10the exact opposite of what Inter-Miami would prefer.
07:13Yes, and that's what makes this game so intriguing
07:15because if Miami get control, then they can start to play about,
07:19they can get their football going.
07:20But what Orlando did really, really well, I thought, last week against Inter-Miami,
07:24they controlled the tempo.
07:25They allowed Inter-Miami to have the ball when they wanted them to have it.
07:28But it's been a fast start from Philadelphia Union
07:30and just going back to the two-centre backs,
07:32you've got McConaughey and Glessness on the edge of the box.
07:34They will make the late runs in.
07:38Wagner to swing this ball out in the opening minutes at Chester.
07:43Signaled by Kai Wagner, that's headed away by Suarez.
07:47Got it out of the danger area from distance and sending this high and wide of goal
07:53is Lukac, who's always willing from great distance, is he not?
07:57Yeah, he is.
07:58Obviously, that's a little bit extreme,
08:00but he has scored a couple of great goals this season from distance.

09:39and I think that's something that Mascherano will have been saying to his players

09:43because it's then hard of a Philadelphia Union to press
09:45because what you don't want to have is huge gaps in between the units,
09:49and if one of the forwards presses so high like that,
09:51then there might be a gap between the midfield and the forwards.

11:40Well, he's a player that's in great, great form.
11:43But what I will talk about is Inter-Miami.
11:45Just look at them.
11:46Nobody's marking.
11:47Sullivan says,

11:50This is the lack of organization
11:51within the Inter-Miami defense.
11:53Take nothing away from the finish from Sullivan.
11:55It's magnificent.
11:56But how he is allowed to pick the ball up

12:06But let's look at the positive side.

12:25to these grounds.
12:27That was back in August of 2023.

12:40to win their first major trophy as a club.
12:42So one of the things we can do,
12:44and we've seen it in recent weeks,
12:46we've seen different plays
12:47in the starting 11 for Inter-Miami,
12:48we've seen different systems.
12:50You can play different plays,
12:51you can play different systems,
12:52but that is not going to fix the fact
12:54that they switch off
12:56at the worst possible time
12:58for Wagner to be able to take
13:00a short corner to Sullivan,
13:03who is probably,
13:05well, he's well inside the 18-yard box
13:07and not one Inter-Miami player reacts.
13:10That doesn't matter.
13:11That's nothing to do with the tactical side of things.
