00:00Speaker of the various Parliament and House of Representatives of ASEAN and Timor-Leste.
00:20So, on behalf of all the leaders of ASEAN and Timor-Leste, may I welcome Excellency the President and I, part of the initiative, to this year's interface.
00:32You see, we happen to be parliamentarians ourselves, unlike President Bermot Makos, the rest of us have to sit in parliament and normally we have to accord additional respect.
00:50Because otherwise, there was times up or they were just ignored, looking at us.
00:55And that's the only reason, I think, why we have to entertain you today.
00:58The theme is Parliament at the Forefront for Inclusive Growth and a Sustainable ASEAN.
01:09In our community building, IPA, of course, will be instrumental, an instrumental partner to facilitate the realization of the people's aspirations,
01:20drive progress across the three pillars, and enhance ASEAN's preparedness and resilience.
01:27Although, speakers, sir, you know that sometimes debates don't necessarily follow these rules.
01:35I know from experience how to deal with the opposition.
01:39And the speakers are normally exceedingly nice to them, which is, of course, as a basis for a democratic rule.
01:48But IPA, interesting enough, in this session, has gone at a great length to discuss some major related issues,
02:00like food security, climate change, digital transformation, and inclusive economic development.
02:07So, on behalf of my colleagues, we, of course, have to express our profound appreciation and thanks to the initiative taken,
02:18because that would be of immense help, not only to the House, but more so to the members and the elected representatives.
02:28Because every decision made by the parliament or congress or MPR will undoubtedly affect the cost of our nation.
02:43And I think many of my colleagues did express one point, that IPA should be encouraged to give the necessary exposure to our parliamentarians on the work of ASEAN.
02:58So, terima kasih.
03:01May I invite politely our media to just move.
03:07Move.
